Rebbe Nachman's funny but profound parable of the prince who thought he was a turkey provides the framework for this handbook of easy-to-apply teachings on how to develop the higher self, including positive thinking, goal-achievement, the power of words, diet, exercise, relaxation, etc.
Very well written. Jewish self help books tend to miss the popular culture aspects of self help. But this book, written in 1991, is still relevant today both in the Torah world and the general self help world. Much of the book is set for beginners to self help and psychotherapy, but the middle section about the meditative practice of hitbodedut and it's practical approach to doing it I found very useful and interesting.
I would recommend the book for anyone who struggles with traditional prayer or for anyone who is looking to explore a more creative, free-flowing expression of themselves within a Jewish setting.
