4.5 Well Fucked Looks Good On You Stars ⭐
Usually you would expect a dark and depraved read by this author. Well she nailed the depraved but instead gave us a couple full of longing and dirty, dirty appetites. I feel like One Dirty Night has been the best erotic romance with BDSM that I've read in ages. Just replace the sex club with a travelling circus to delight all the senses!!
It was about freedom.
Being free, if only for one night.
Living an ultimate fantasy with no one to judge or condemn me.
Two roommates that lead a very monotonous lifestyle. So mundane that they're practically invisible to each other. When a purely for adults circus lands on their doorstep, Ella let's go of all her reservations and goes. I guess she never imagined how it would turn out.
One opportunity to embrace who she really wants to be. Except not only does she capture the attention of circus owner Hunter, her freaking roommate Nicholas is also in attendance. And he wants in on the action since he's been carrying deep secrets of his own.
“What do you say, Ella Fitzgerald? A night of being used, not just by one male but two? A night that will ruin every other night. A night that will always remain our little secret. Our little trio of absolute debauchery.”
Not only can you expect kink that would entice a nun, but you get passion and yearning from this trio that has you quickly realizing that this story is much more than smut. There's depth, fear and love thats been simmering for awhile. What remains, is how this will end when the circus leaves town?
The whole circus scenario was magical and the sex scenes and dynamics between these three was scorching. I'm not saying I'm disappointed about the ending but I had hoped it would have ended differently. Love, loved this!! 🥵🥵

The heroine: Ella - she is a microbiologist and the company she works for has her sharing a home with a flat mate that also works at the same company. His name is Nicholas and he seems to hate her and everything he does. He is working on a cure for cancer and works a lot, he seems repressed and complained the one time she went from the bathroom to her bedroom in only a towel, he rebuffs all her offers of friendship and seems annoyed no matter what she does, how much she cleans, when she makes dinner and when she is just laying around the house.
The Story: Ella is pent up after eight months of living with Nicholas and she is about to burst. The walls are thin so she finds it hard to even see to her own needs while he is around as she is afraid he will hear her. One day on her way home from work, she sees that a circus has come to town and the hot, muscular man pounding in the stakes of the big top peaks her interest, especially after she finds out that the traveling circus is really a traveling BDSM club.
The Heroes: Hunter, Nicholas - Hunter is the owner of the adults only circus that comes to town and when he meets the shy Ella, he immediately wants her for himself for the night. He gets her to divulge all the things she desires and brings her into the big top. This is where her roommate Nicholas sees them and reveals that he has wanted Ella from the first day they met and if he has to share her with Hunter, he will in order to have her for a night.
I liked this book from the start, especially all the dirty talk. It seemed all of the main characters were exceptionally good at talking dirty, especially Hunter. He is well able to communicate every filthy thing he would like to do to Ella and surprisingly enough, the uptight Nicholas has no trouble in that area either. Nicholas had some things that drove him to act the way he did to Ella, but the night together brought everything out into the light.
Though the idea of a traveling circus themed BDSM club that would be allowed to set up in any of our local neighborhoods is a bit crazy and outlandish, I did like the storyline. It was imaginative and fun. The descriptions of all the things inside the big top were terrific, including the carnival games with BDSM themed prizes and the way each ‘scene’ is a show for the voracious onlookers. It was certainly an original concept.

My lord, good heavens above! This book is HOT! It is pure fire and it totally consumed me from start to finish. I knew Pepper said it would be one of the spiciest books she ever wrote, but I was even more than I anticipated!
The book starts with Ella driving by a circus tent. She is kinda cursing them without even knowing if they are using animals or not. But then she notices a shirtless man on top of the tent fixing everything in place. And she is instantly drawn to him sexually. She has been in a very long dry spell and is aching for a good f**k. Then a note flutters on her window. And it's not a circus. But it's called Spectacle of Secrets, promising to fulfill every single dirty desire you have. And that turns her on even more.
When she arrives home she bumps into her roommate Nick. He is incredibly hot. But so distant and cold towards her. She secretly admires him from afar. And wishes he would burst into her bedroom and just take her.
He mumbles he is going out. And Ella decides fuck it. I am going to Spectacle of Secrets. On her way there she meets the man who was on top of the tent. His name is Hunter and she immediately obeys him. His words melt her, increase her desire and she burns for him.
And f**k not just Ella! I melted with her. His dirty mouth seduces us both. And that kiss! My god that was hot!
After a short push and pull she decides to go with him. It's her 24th birthday, so hey, she deserves a wild night out.
But when she is walking with him to the tent she hears her name. And Nick is there! Fuming, jealous and so incredibly possessive.
And guys... I won't spill anymore! But you can guess what happens next! And it is pure and utter FIRE and total PERFECTION! I was so invested and it burned me page for page.
But it's not just spice. There is also a beautiful love story woven into this novel. It's about overcoming your fears. Accepting your desires and strength. It's about making choices and truly caring for someone.
I wish I could walk on top of my roof and scream my love for this delicious, hot and all consuming story out into the world.

But he’s not the only one.
Nick, Ella’s roommate for 8 months that she’s been pining over but gets nothing but the cold shoulder back in return, shows up just as Ella and Hunter are adjourning for their special session. He begs, he pleads, let HIM be the one, let Nick take care of all her needs. As a last-ditch effort, in desperation, he says…
“Have us both … Fuck us both. I’ll share you… with him.”
Here is where we enter MFM territory The first sex scene of the book is Ella, Hunter, and Nick being intimate together at the circus itself. However, both men’s sole focus is Ella’s pleasure (and pain), and they don’t sexually interact with each other. This is the only MFM scene in the book, the rest of the story after Ella and Nick leave the circus focuses on the development of their (MF) relationship.
For me as a reader, I would classify this as an erotica through and through, honestly, not even an erotic romance. The rawness of the sex scenes, the in-depth spicy tropes, the intimacy of it all, even wrapped in the kinkiest of bows… all of those things outshined any semblance of a romance story. If I’m being honest, I didn’t really find Nick’s character romantic at all. Sexy and dominant as sin, with searing emotion and dark words, which is perfect for an erotica, but not a romance (for me). That’s why I so appreciated that Pepper created this, and treated this, as an erotica from beginning to end. And damn can she write engaging erotica! Writing sucked me in, never got stale, was a fantastic mix of smut writing and the ability to capture and portray the raw emotion in every scene. I knew what all the characters felt, deeply.
I need to talk about Hunter Dixon for a hot second. Because I know that Nick was supposed to be the “main” MMC and that he and Ella were always endgame, and yes I’m glad, I wanted to see Ella and Nick end up together. But what I want most of all, what I need as desperately as I need air, is for Hunter to get his own book and his own HEA. AND RHODES TOO. And maybe they do have them, I have to go book hunting👀
Also, side note, it was sometimes slightly jarring, nothing completely off putting, how the MMC Nick’s name would switch between Nick and Nicholas over the course of the book, sometimes within the same paragraph or couple lines. At first I thought this was intentionally done by the author to kind of differentiae the two sides of Nick, one side (Nick or Nicholas) was the restrained man in denial, while the other (Nick or Nicholas) was his Dominant set free, but the more I read and the more context I got, I don’t believe that is the case. I would probably just stick with one for standard.
Overall, if you’re looking for a quick erotica with an emotionally raw punch that’s light on actual romance, TRY THIS!

Here is where we enter MFM territory The first sex scene of the book is Ella, Hunter, and Nick being intimate together at the circus itself. However, both men’s sole focus is Ella’s pleasure (and pain), and they don’t sexually interact with each other. This is the only MFM scene in the book, the rest of the story after Ella and Nick leave the circus focuses on the development of their (MF) relationship.
For me as a reader, I would classify this as an erotica through and through, honestly, not even an erotic romance. The rawness of the sex scenes, the in-depth spicy tropes, the intimacy of it all, even wrapped in the kinkiest of bows… all of those things outshined any semblance of a romance story. If I’m being honest, I didn’t really find Nick’s character romantic at all. Sexy and dominant as sin, with searing emotion and dark words, which is perfect for an erotica, but not a romance (for me). That’s why I so appreciated that Pepper created this, and treated this, as an erotica from beginning to end. And damn can she write engaging erotica! Writing sucked me in, never got stale, was a fantastic mix of smut writing and the ability to capture and portray the raw emotion in every scene. I knew what all the characters felt, deeply.
I need to talk about Hunter Dixon for a hot second. Because I know that Nick was supposed to be the “main” MMC and that he and Ella were always endgame, and yes I’m glad, I wanted to see Ella and Nick end up together. But what I want most of all, what I need as desperately as I need air, is for Hunter to get his own book and his own HEA. AND RHODES TOO. And maybe they do have them, I have to go book hunting👀
Also, side note, it was sometimes slightly jarring, nothing completely off putting, how the MMC Nick’s name would switch between Nick and Nicholas over the course of the book, sometimes within the same paragraph or couple lines. At first I thought this was intentionally done by the author to kind of differentiae the two sides of Nick, one side (Nick or Nicholas) was the restrained man in denial, while the other (Nick or Nicholas) was his Dominant set free, but the more I read and the more context I got, I don’t believe that is the case. I would probably just stick with one for standard.
Overall, if you’re looking for a quick erotica with an emotionally raw punch that’s light on actual romance, TRY THIS!

This story started out wonderfully. I really liked Ella and her openness and eagerness to learn more about herself and her sexuality. And of course, I was immediately in love -and lust- with Hunter. He truly made this book for me. His circus persona, how he needs to be exactly who he is but understands that his monster/Master self can only be unleashed in front of a very select few who have given full consent. What can I say? Consent is the biggest turn-on.
Nick, however, is the reason this isn't even in the 4-star realm. I hated Nick. His inability to function around her without showing that he was into her meant he needed to mistreat and abuse her -because that makes so much sense! *angry, sarcastic eye-roll* Bully romances are not for me, I learned that the hard way, but I love enemies-to-lovers and I thought that was what this was. It's really not.
This book is so much darker than I usually read because the whole "I'm going to punish you for making me love you" argument is not something I'm ever going to be okay with. Not in fantasy books, not in real life. Anywhere. I understand BDSM well enough, and I know sadist can hide behind stupid excuses to try to rationalise their need to inflict pain. But this particular line of argument always makes the hair on the back of my neck prickle. There are multiple moments here where it's outright stated that Nick hates her for his inability to control himself around her, and wants to kill her for it. Not just physically hurt her to the point where she's bleeding, bruised black and blue, crying on the floor for him to stop, but just straight up end her. And when he punished her to make her apologise for making him love her? It almost made me DNFed this. I'll say it as many times as I have to, but:
Women are not -have never and will never- be responsible for men's inability to emotionally regulate.
I know that this is just a particular trigger of mine, but come on! Nick felt like an overgrown toddler throwing a tantrum because he couldn't regulate his own emotional responses by himself, and somehow he made it her problem.
So yeah, I wanted Hunter and Ella together, and I wanted Nick to throw himself off a cliff (I'm not saying what does or doesn't happen in the end).
I recommend this book if you're looking for super spicy, delicious smut full of BDSM and forbidden bully romance/toxic fantasies.

Seriously, I need to go to a traveling sex circus. One Dirty Night is just that and more.
Sick of the mundane things in her life, Ella decides to step out of her comfort zone and explore what she has always wanted. What she finds is Insta- Lust with a Dom and a secret crush on her roommate, Nick. All things are fun and filthy until feelings get in the way.
One Dirty Night Is a fun read and just what I needed. It's original and very refreshing. I let my freak flag fly high with this one. I love Hunter and how he was written. I hope to see more of him in future books and His POV.

All the expressions, touches, sub and dom relations and more. Pepper was thought great way every detail in the book.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story from start to finish. The fact that even though this book cuts straight to the chase, the way Pepper is able to world build this story is completely mind blowing. Angst? Nonexistent. Filth? Dear god….. how did she even manage to keep this story collecting dust for so many years?!!!!! How did the flash drive not caught fire?!!!! 😮💨🥵🫠

Pepper Winters makes a provocative and enthralling comeback with One Dirty Night—a standalone book that will shock you and have you gasping for more. I went into this book with no expectations and some hesitation but it surprised me. I was blown away by the emotion, angst, and heartbreaking romance between Ella and Nick. There is no denying that Hunter Dixon was such a pleasant surprise and he absolutely needs his own book and love story. The man was confident, wise, incredibly sexy, and had such a dirty mouth. He was certainly a breath of fresh air compared to the author's more recent heroes and I adored him. As for Ella and Nick, I loved them too. Many might say that the romance took a back seat while Ella was exploring her sexuality but I disagree. It played a central role in Ella's decision to visit Hunter's Spectacle of Secrets and it pushed her to fight for Nick's love in the end—forcing him to contend with his own feelings and obsession for her.
In the end, this book surprised me in the best of ways and so much more than what I initially thought it was going to be. In addition to the highly erotic sex scenes, Pepper Winters also brought her signature angst and emotion to Ella and Nick's love story. Just because Nick shared her with Hunter did not mean that she never belonged to him. I loved how Ella fought for Nick's affections and took drastic measures even when he pushed her away and broke her heart. When I thought that all hope was lost, we were finally rewarded and I couldn't be happier. Fans of Pepper Winters and the dark romance genre will absolutely love this book because it features a tortured and stubborn hero who fights his love and obsession for his sweet and determined heroine but ends up giving her his heart and soul. But upon entering she runs into her cold roommate and coworker, Nick, who talks them into letting him join in on the fun and the story goes from there. 😏
I expected this to be a quick, fun, super spicy read and, it definitely is, but there’s so much more to it than that. There’s so much tension and angst and a beautiful self discovery plot all in under 250 pages.

This book is pure spice - there’s no other words. But it’s dang good spice in so many ways. The story behind it, the world inside the circus tent, the characters and their journeys, the Dom/Sub relationships ohhh it’s sooo good.
I honestly need more of this world. I need Hunters story, Giselles story, heck I’d even say I need Ella and Rhodes story from the Black Peacock. I just need more.
A fantastic story that had me glued from the very minute I started - though I shouldn’t be surprised, as everything Pepper writes hooks me in. Cannot wait for me (impatiently, sorry not sorry).

The blurb - holy heckers, that blurb grabbed me and made me sit up and pay attention. I was hooked from the start.
