New lies, old lies.

Carmen is in Denmark with her BFF Rhonda for a mini vacation and the taping of a new episode of Antique Times with Rhonda Rhodes. When the show is disrupted by the murder of one of the participants, Carmen believes it may be linked to the history of the item they brought for appraisal. She and her friends want justice for the victim, The case is like an irresistible treasure hunt but the murderer is still out there and could be following the same trail of clues they are.

I like this cozy mystery series. The subplot of Carmen’s ongoing search for her husband’s killer adds an additional element of mystery and danger. I’m sad that this series is ending. The interactions of the characters made the stories special. I finished it in one day. I received a free copy but my review is honest and voluntary.

Will Carmen ever find the WWII art? Carmen, Myrtle, and Julie are in Amsterdam to see the live taping of Antiques Time with Rhonda Rhodes. As the taping comes to an end, the four friends become embroiled in the mysterious disappearance of some artwork from WWII. Who can they trust? Are they keeping secrets from each other? Will they be able to work together to find the missing art even though none of them know Amsterdam or speak Dutch? Who can translate for them? Ms. Alderson does a good job of weaving all of this together while helping us to know the landscape and the history associated with the missing art. I received this book for free from the author and am voluntarily leaving this review. Jennifer, I have enjoyed reading about and following Carmen De Luca as she traced artwork across Europe.

The Carmen De Luca Art Sleuth Mysteries are very entertaining. The books all feature Carmen, her partner Lady Sophie and her best friend Rhonda. The premise of the stories is that Carmen is undercover as an art recovery specialist. Her family and friends all believe she is a journalist for an antiques magazine. Instead she travels around the world on assignment locating stolen art. I enjoyed all the history about the various art pieces she was seeking as well as the plans she and Sophie put in place to capture the thieves and return the art to its rightful owner. It was so thrilling that there was also a murder in each story. The author did a great job in each story and I had fun reading the stories. I am sad that this series is complete and I’ve read all 4 books. They are 5 star books.

After Carmen De Luca wraps up her latest case, she takes a trip to the Netherlands to visit her friend who is doing an episode of Antiques Time.
One of the guest brings a puzzle box that his grandfather had made.
Unknown to the grandson, his box attracts a lot of attention because it may contain clues to contraband from W.W. II
And someone is willing to kill for the chance of finding it.

This was a enjoyable story with developed characters, and several red herrings.
This story also wraps up this particular series.

I read this book as an Advanced Reader Copy,
All opinions are my own.

A Killer Inheritance is book #4 in the Carmen De Luca Art Sleuth Mysteries series by Jennifer S. Alderson.

Carmen is quite busy in this book! in the Netherlands at the taping of an an episode of Antiques Time with her friend, Rhonda, a WWII puzzle box is brought in for evaluation. Carmen thinks the box is related to the murder even though the police discount that idea. She and her friends take on the investigation and have quite an adventure. It is sad to say goodbye to the characters but it was a satisfying ending.

Excellent End to Carmen's Adventures

I really enjoyed this last installment of the Carmen De Luca Art Sleuth mysteries by Jennifer S Alderson. Although I'm sad to see the series end, I loved the book and the way so many of the threads throughout the series were wrapped up in this story. Rhonda is a wonderful character and I was glad to see her front and center in this book, as well as learn some interesting things about both Carmen's family and about Lady Sophie. I highly recommend both this book and the entire series. I am a member of the Advance Reader Team and am leaving an honest review.

Carmen DeLuca seems to be off her game in the first part of the story, as she is fixated on getting revenge for her husband’s death. When Carmen joins her BFF Rhonda for a taping of her hit TV show and a new mystery is uncovered, the friends are off on a treasure hunt for art hidden during WWII. An entertaining mystery with lots of twists as the ladies follow the clues to the treasure, and surprises both business and personal. Fitting and enjoyable end to the series!
I received a free copy from the author, and this is my honest and voluntary review.

This is another fun book in this series and, sadly, the end of the series. This book was full of mysteries and revelations and surprises. Carmen is with her best friend, Rhonda, who is taping her show in Amsterdam, when things go awry and a guest is murdered.

There is missing WWII art, lots of twists and turns, and a lot of revelations for both Carmen and her best friend.

I am sad to see this series end but approve of how things were wrapped up. I received a free advanced copy and this is my honest review.

During the taping, the power cuts out. When the get it back on, the owner of the box is dead. Can Carmen solve the riddle of the box and figure out who killed him? “Is this how our European adventure ends?”

Saying goodbye and moving on is never easy, for the reader, and Carmen, as this book wraps up her story. Fresh off her last case Carmen, Rhonda, Myrtle and Jane find themselves on an unofficial case: tracking down a shipment of paintings that went missing during the war. And in her personal life Carmen finds out some hard truths about the man that killed both her father and her husband even as she’s offered a new beginning. Well done!

I loved this latest installment in the Carmen De Luca Art Sleuth series. There were surprises throughout and both Carmen's bestie and Carmen's partner were featured.
This installment includes some WWII artifacts and the journey to find them was a very different journey than we have seen Carmen take thus far. We also learn some things about both Lady Sophie and Carmen's family.
I received an ARC copy of this book.

Carmen is visiting Rhonda during the taping of her show. What could possibly go wrong?
This is such a wonderful series. Carmen is such a great character, with so much depth. And the storyline keeps you on your toes from the first to the last page. Just wonderful to read. All the books can be read standalone, but once you have read one you want to read the series.

Interesting tale of art theft that had happened during World War II. Light story with a murder and missing art. Many things are revealed about the various characters. I have read only one other book in the series, but that still made the individuals' back stories appealing. Thanks to the author for providing a copy. My review is voluntary.

Easy fun read although I found it a bit confusing with the number of characters that had appeared in previous books and were assumed to be known. It is a while since I read the last book so it took me a bit of scratching around in the memory banks. The ending was quite sudden and unexpected. I received this as an advance copy from the author and am leaving this review voluntarily.

Another sensational addition to the Carmen De Luca Art Sleuth series!
The European work assignments end--- and what a finish!
Carmen is working with another coworker instead of Lady Sofie, and also with a new Interpol agent--which turns out to be a big surprise.
I think I liked this book the best out of the series. It reads easily, it has a lot of intrigue and danger involved. And life is giving Carmen a lot of surprises.
I highly recommend this clean, wholesome mystery story.
I was provided with an advance copy of the book, and this review is my honest opinion.
