Stop, I missed them so fucking much in the span of like, two hours that I finished Those Who Wait. They're cute of course, but this was mildly disappointing for me, but I'd rather start off with what I liked. This will have quotes and mild spoilers lol.
First off, pussies were ate (finally), thank the lord. It wasn't how I expected...? I expected the other one to do the eating but whatever, it was still yum.
Excuse me...😦🤭...they're so...anyways. This author knows how to write sex scenes like what the fuck, it's not even funnyyy.
Their banter was also still really sweet and "my wife" STOP!!!!!!!!!!! It's not even fair.
I'm glad that Charlotte .
Now, unfortunately...that's all I liked HAHA. There was only one sex scene and there could have (should have) been more, sorry. So much talk about going at it all night and yet? Proof or it didn't happen.
The babies 😐. I don't know what it is about them but I feel like they just ruin the whole dynamic we had going on here. There was also too much internal dialogue and too much filler. I really didn't care that much about the girls separate achievements, I just wanted charlottesutton content. The wedding was cute tho ig...? I don't know what it is about it, but proposals and marriage and babies make my eye twitch, I just don't like it. Honestly, I just wanted my girls to be at it twice a day and to be girlbosses together. But oh well, maybe that was too much to ask for, whatevs.

Only inches away her hand resting on the curve of Charlotte's hip as she whispered, "Hi."
She could feel Charlotte's slow grin without opening her eyes.
"Hi back, darling." Charlotte leaned up, brushing her lips softly against the side of Sutton's in the way that she had that was so close to being a kiss but wasn't.

She held eye contact with Charlotte as she came, dripping into Sutton's mouth. Her shaking intensified before slowly coming to a stop, her breath panting into the room around them.

Sutton was full-out laughing now, the laughter making her cheeks flush, her eyes sparkling, and it made Charlotte want to smile just watching her, even as much as she held onto her pout. "It's not funny."
Sutton managed to quell her laughter but was still smiling widely at her, as she reached out to pull Charlotte even closer. "I love you."
She moved against Sutton, pressing against her, looping her arms around Sutton's neck. "I love you, too, which is why this isn't funny."
But a small smile tugged at her lips as Sutton continues to smile, ducking down to press their mouths together.
Gosh, when Sutton fell asleep with her head on Charlotte's lap? One can dream.
She stroked her fingers slowly through Sutton's hair as she looked down after a few beats of silence went by. And found bright blue eyes closed, her breathing coming softly, with her fingers curled lightly into the blanket just under Charlotte's thigh.
The firelight moved gently over Sutton's features, and she shook her head slightly, a smile tugging at her lips as she gently traced her fingertips over Sutton's forehead, then ever so lightly down her nose, "So beautiful," she whispered to herself, hearing her own wistfulness, before she settled back into the couch, her eyes growing heavy with the warmth around her and Sutton against her.

This is a long-ish epilogue to ‘Those who wait’ by Haley Cass. I wouldn’t recommend it reading it before that book. First of all, because you’d miss a lot of details from the story and secondly, because you really don’t want to miss reading ‘Those who wait’.
For epilogue lovers, this will feel like a child’s first visit to Disneyland. It is a detailed account of the lives of Sutton and Charlotte, told in life and political milestones. I’ll leave it vague to avoid spoiling anything. Unlike most epilogues, this one isn’t short (95 pages) and it’s divided into 7 parts. Each of them is focused on a period of time and it’s a little story in itself, drama and excitement included.
So, if you’ve finished reading or listening to ‘Those who wait’ and are suffering from a book hangover and missing the characters already, then reading this novella is going to be a treat. It finishes with a perfect circle and gives complete closure to the story. Unfortunately, it won’t solve your book hangover, only delay it for a while.
Overall, a great end to ‘Those who wait’ and a must-read if you enjoyed that book. 5 stars.

Forever is a very satisfying epilogue to Those Who Wait. The author does a phenomenal job in recreating the growth and maturation of the couple’s relationship as the years go by. Written like short, poignant snapshots, crucial scenes and dialogue tell us what we need to know about pivotal moments in their future lives, concluding in a perfect HEA for Sutton and Charlotte. Absolutely, loved it.

As I wrote when I reviewed Forever and a Day the first time, getting to spend more time with Sutton and Charlotte is wonderful. Forever and a Day can absolutely not be read as a standalone, you need to have read Those Who Wait first to enjoy it completely. Also, if you haven’t read Those Who Wait yet, why? Fix that. Better yet, listen to it. Lori Prince does a fantastic job of bringing these two excellent characters to life. I love the way she says Charlotte’s “darling” and I couldn’t wait to hear it again.
Besides, Haley Cass wrote one of the hottest strap-on scenes, and damn is it hot when it’s told directly in your ears… I also love that it’s between a married couple, two women who are parents, because that’s not the kind of representation we often get. I love romance for the falling in love and all the excitement of everything being new and all the potential, but I’m grateful to Cass for seeing this opportunity and making the most of it.
I don’t have much to add to my original review. I’ll just say that I had forgotten how romantic this series of epilogues is and it was really nice to get to enjoy them all over again.

I didn’t manage to read this shortish sequel to Those Who Wait when it came out, so I decided to get to it as soon as I could after listening to the audiobook version (if you haven’t read my reviews for the book or the audiobook, which are both marvellous, there’s one here and the other here).
First of all, just the idea of spending more time with Charlotte and Sutton was fantastic. They’ve quickly become one of my favourite lesfic couples, and Forever and a Day, which is actually a series of epilogues, confirms it. It spans a couple of decades and focuses on key moments of their life after they finally saw the light and got together for real.
And that’s exactly why I love this couple, beyond the fact that both women are sweet and smart and sexy and I can’t get over Charlotte’s “darling” (especially as said by Lori Prince, which is up there with Abby Craden‘s in E. J. Noyes’ Ask, Tell series). They go through happy times and difficult times together, bringing each other strength and support. They find solutions together, they share decisions and victories and losses. And the love! It’s everywhere, every second. In every word, every touch, even in arguments and disagreements. Because yes, they have these too. Their life is not all sunshine and roses, there’s also conflict, as in any relationship. But they tackle issues as adults, talking and sharing, and that doesn’t happen so often in lesfic. On top of that, I already mentioned how sexy the characters and the whole thing are, and I feel like I should also point out that this book includes one of the hottest strap-on scenes I’ve read in a long time outside of erotica.
I enjoyed these glimpses of Sutton and Charlotte’s life together a lot, despite a few editing bugs. Forever and a Day isn’t as overwhelmingly exciting as Those Who Wait since the falling in love has already happened and that’s what gets my heart going, let’s face it, but it’s like that one last bite of a delicious meal, the one that wraps it up perfectly. I wanted more of Charlotte and Sutton, I’ve had it. Now I can let them go.

I wish I could find the Facebook comment where she posted it, but author Lee Winter recently gave Haley Cass a huge compliment. There was a discussion about the process of finding success in the lesfic genre and what most authors needed to do to accomplish that (I am paraphrasing here.) She listed several things. After she listed them, she said "the exception to all of these rules is Haley Cass." Because Cass's first self published book was massively successful straight out of the chute and her second release in 2020 - When You Least Expect It - did really well also. In 2021 she released this follow-up to Those Who Wait and established herself as one of the biggest new authors on the scene. All without having a publishing house behind her.
I loved reading this on ebook back in January and was happy to see that she also released it on audio. Which also, incidentally, speaks to how successful this release was as well that Cass was able to do that. And good for her! She writes such engaging characters and moves her stories along beautifully. I enjoyed listening to this as much as Those Who Wait and I'll say again that yes - Lori Prince's "Darling" is definitely swoon-worthy. This is one of those dream follow-ups where you get glimpses of the couple's life for decades to come. How rare and wonderful that is! In the last moments of the book, I actually got the chills. That's a rarity.
Fans of Those Who Wait on audio will love this just as much!

How often have you read a book and thought, "I would give anything to know what happened to those characters!" Well, Haley Cass had such a spectacularly successful debut that she thanked her readers by giving us just that - a novella providing a glimpse into the lives of Sutton Spencer and Charlotte Thompson for decades into the future. Cool thing to do and it was a satisfying read as well. Rather than comment on anything that happens that would give something away, I'll just say if you loved Those Who Wait, you'll love this too. Ain't love grand!?

When I heard there was a follow up to 'Those Who Wait' my first thought was 'Oh no!'
I didn't want anything to ruin the beautiful love story of Charlotte and Sutton. I shouldn't have worried. This was the perfect tribute to those two ladies I grew to love.
This is not a full length novel. It is on the short side. Especially in comparison to book 1. It felt like a series of epilogues to me. We get to see how things work out for them throughout incremental stages in their lives.
What was so great about this was that it wasn't just a bunch of happy and sappy. True to the original, these two had some conflict they needed to overcome. So all of the big feels that I felt reading the first book continued to be there for this one.
If you haven't read 'Those who Wait,' then please correct that right away. Then read this because it equally good and we get more of this adorable couple.

As a Feel-Good book sequel, I expected to find here just a sweet ending for the wonderful story of “Those Who Wait”.
I was right. And also wrong.
I found much more into these few pages, not only the epilogue of a book, but the story of two women going through life together.
And among other situations, they went through one specific conflict, that seemed so real and authentic to me.. it envolved taking life decisions that branded their futures forever.
I appreciate that the author let us enjoy a little bit more of their wonderful relationship.
I was right. And also wrong.
I found much more into these few pages, not only the epilogue of a book, but the story of two women going through life together.
And among other situations, they went through one specific conflict, that seemed so real and authentic to me.. it envolved taking life decisions that branded their futures forever.
I appreciate that the author let us enjoy a little bit more of their wonderful relationship.

I realized reading this followup to Those Who Wait that I'm not a big fan of epilogues and this story read like an extended epilogue. In Forever and A Day we get to see moments in the lives of Charlotte and Sutton over the next few decades of their lives together. I was wrapped up in their romance in the first book but didn't get the same simmering passion in these snippets in time. No surprises in the trajectory of their careers and love for each other. Nice enough but anticlimactic in comparison to Those Who Wait.

A short wrap of "Those Who Wait," which shows snippets of what happened with Sutton and Charlotte in the years following their official "coming out" if you will. It basically starts when Sutton goes abroad and continues into the future, which was lovely to read, and rare that we get this in lesfic.
The only thing that became a bit much was how overly sappy and la-la the language got, all this talk of "you are my destiny and I know it with my entire fibrous being now let me stare deep into your soul so you can know this telepathically" kind of speak. It just felt somewhat overdone and unnecessary, as the connection the author created was there from the start in a more organic way. So even though there's the whole baby-thing to wade through, which I am not spoiling b/c the photo is on the damn cover, I enjoyed this long epilogue. The couple continues to still have their fire and heat and respect and love for one another through the years.

The Epilogue of Epilogues!
This is everything I wanted in a follow up story to such a precious book. The different parts highlight the milestones that Sutton and Charlotte reach together, spanning twenty years of their relationship. It's sweet, precious, poignant, and just full of love. It's truly beautiful. I am so satisfied that I can die peacefully now. Haha! Please read this after you finish Those Who Wait. A truly great piece to tie everything together perfectly.

I would call this the very extended epilogue of Those Who Wait. I thoroughly enjoyed Those Who Wait and this little novella of sorts brings Sutton and Charlotte back.
I missed a bit of Regan and the family ties in this instalment. Those secondary characters are so fun and o would have loved to see a little more of them. Although I do expect another book that revolves around Regan.
I enjoyed reading about Charlotte and Sutton’s life together, it was fun to go from 25+ to 50. It’s very rarely you get enjoyed a life’s story of sorts. And it’s just as sweet and romantic, although they have their struggles, as is their origin story. If you enjoyed Those Who Wait, this is a must-read as well.

This was just as good as the first time I read it. I love seeing characters during/after their happily ever after, and I love Charlotte and Sutton. The only negative is that it needed more editing, but it didn't take away from my enjoyment at all. Those Who Wait and this continuation is a phenomenal piece of storytelling!

One thing that did irritate me is less about the book and more about Americanisms. I've only seen it in this and in Red, White, and Royal Blue, so not often, but twice is enough to make me comment on it. The presidents in both books (Elizabeth in this) have foreign leaders on hold while they chat to one of the MC's. I just found it incredibly rude and indicative of how America sees itself in relation to the rest of the world. It's not a good look. Charlotte also thinks to herself that if she becomes president, she'll be the most powerful woman in the world, and she'll change the world. Which, to a non-American, comes across as incredibly arrogant. Substitute world for the US, and it reads better.
Sorry for the mini rant! Love Those Who Wait and Forever and a Day, I was just annoyed by those little things.

okay this was really cute. i was very confused about the timeline for half the novella, but that was probably my fault for reading this so long after the first.

Great ending to this love story. Bittersweet for me because as I read the ending, I just miss the young Charlotte and Sutton. It just made me want to re-read book 1.

This it seem is like an epilogue (a long one) of Those Who Wait – back to the power couple, Charlotte & Sutton. Oh how I loved this couple and the life they led in this book – which picked up from when TWW ended (not the epilogue) right through their late 40s. The banters, the conflict, the healthy sex life, the overall relationship, respect and love that these 2 have for each other just make me swoon and warm my heart. It’s the kind of HEA that put a smile on my face and make my day.
If you loved reading TWW, then you have to read this 😊

This was a very nice follow up to Those Who Wait. Not as good and shorter with less depth, but I still very much enjoyed reading about Sutton and Charlotte and their life together.
I pre-ordered Haley Cass’s new book that is coming soon and hope that it’s as good as the Those Who Wait and its sequel.

Nice addition to Sutton/Charlotte’s story. Each chapter is a little highlight from their lives. Liked that the author didn’t linger, for the most part, and was to the point. On the downside, it took forever to get to the point during the last part/election night. The having a baby decision hit a nerve with me and saw a potentially great source of angst just fizzle some. Overall I’m glad I read it.

Good Lord, Haley Cass! I don't know how you managed to do it. THIS is how you do a follow-up story. I'm too dumbstruck to express how good this is but allow me to try.
Whether one writes poetically/eloquently/etc., there will always be a multitude of other qualifications to be counted as a good writer. As romances go, you can use flowery words as much as you want but can still fall short if your writing doesn't evoke strong sensations from your readers. As a hopeful (or hopeless, I'm still unsure lol) romantic, I will always be in awe of authors who can write emotions and feelings exceedingly well. With her second book, Cass has proven that she is one such author and that the success of her debut novel wasn't a fluke.
I can only count one other time I'd loved reading follow-up short stories akin to those in this book, and that is with the sequels in Truth and Measure-verse series. If you know how that fanfic fared with DWP/Mirandy fans, you know this is a high praise.
This collection of snapshots of Charlotte and Sutton's life together following Those Who Wait brings our MCs' story to an extended conclusion filled with entertaining, heart-tugging, and titillating moments. Forever and a Day will have you grinning from ear to ear, closing this story with a full heart.

5 Stars - if you loved Those Who Wait then you will love this
This collection of short stories follow Charlotte and Sutton through some of the major moments in their life together. Think of it like the best more amazing epilogue ever. Warning - it also contains one of the steamiest sex scenes I have read in awhile. ;)

This was such a lovely addition to those who wait. Absolutely loved the audios of this. A couple favourite quotes from it: "I could have existed in those worlds. A different me with a different someone else in a different life, but I know without a doubt I could live in a thousand lifetimes and still never be as happy as this one with you". “I don’t know if there’s a destiny but I know that if there is, you’re mine”. “I think I’ve known you were my destiny since I saw your picture”.

A fitting ending and a fitting follow up to Sutton and Charlotte story,what I loved about this couples is their communication,the way the work through issues by talking and including each other,this was neatly tied up and exceptional writing about a supportive,strong,loving,grounded relationship amid media storm and political compaigns.
