The Deception of Adam: Unveiling Satan's Strategy to Divide God's People

Rate this book
What if from the garden until today, deception from the evil one has been the driving force of conflict between men and women? His first tactic of deception worked with Eve, what if it is working on Adam today?
The revealing of this deception of Adam and how it is still in play today is our discussion in this book. It is that deception that lessens the efficacy of the Great Commission and has caused, and continues to cause, a huge rift in the church to the benefit only of the evil one.
The rift is between Adam and Eve but it is fueled by that great deceiver in the garden. Even with the restoration our Lord brought, the rift is still very deep and very wide today.
We are going to pull back the curtain and see the puppet master at work. We will see how we are his unwitting puppets. We must cut the strings.
Our common enemy has worked very hard to divide us, but we can stop him in his tracks by recognizing his influence and standing together.
We are to fight the enemy, not one another. United against the evil one and set free from his schemes we will finally turn and face him down. The key to doing this is by knowing and living the truth together. He is terrified of our recognizing his hand in the divisions of the church and that we would then unite against him.
The evil one has kept us focused on opposition with one another in order to divert our attention from his plans and, in turn, causes us to disempower the church.
Imagine what we can achieve by working as a team against this adversary.

Kim West holds a PhD in Clinical Pastoral Counseling and a M.Div. in Counseling and Family, but when her own mother became ill with terminal cancer she found that she had no hands-on knowledge of how to take care of her.

As a counselor she knew to journal her own experience to help her process her grief at losing her mother and she knew how to help her mother finish her life well and be prepared for the life to come. But the day-to-day of taking care of her mother as she died would require learning a whole new set of caring skills. And learn she did.

After completing her own journey with her mother she knew she had to help others who would travel this same path. Peaceful Passage is a merging of her years of counseling experience and the new skills she learned caring for her mother combined with her heart to help and to heal.

agreed to a great extent.

The makes a very good point and does an excellent job of supporting her position from a biblical perspective. I do a lot of Bible teaching and I intend to incorporate much of what she taught. How, I don’t totally agree with everything she said, but she has Made me more sensitive on this issue of how women are often treated in the church and in marriage in Christian circles. There are some things I didn’t totally agree with her. For example, I do believe that in marriage God intended for man to be the head of the home and the wife to be submissive. But having said that, Kim really makes you think about how that is supposed to work out. I believe that the biblical ideas of marriage that God intended have been corrupted by traditional, historical, and worldly ideas that have worked their way into Christian thinking and teaching.

Truly a great book

I found this book to be fascinating. The author has done an excellent job. She delivers an analysis of the creation story that is truly her own and not just a repeat of traditionally taught doctrines that often tend to be false. West's ideas were fresh and thought provoking. She tackles a difficult subject with skill and expertise. Her views truly challenge readers to reexamine traditional teachings through an in depth analysis of the Bible. There is a lot of really great teaching here that is Biblically sound. Very intriguing as well as interesting. I highly recommend this book.

An eye opener

De. West brings to light how satan has once against hurt man through his lies. Women’s role in the church and in life has been diminished because of Saran’s lies that have been believed for centuries. Dr. West exposes the lies, and backed by God’s Word shows us His truth. We are daughters of the King and he made each of us with a purpose.
