Have you ever wondered how your life would have turned out if you had taken a key life decision differently? How differently would your life had turned out by one such choice and how different your future would have looked. “If Then Else’ explores the impact our own choices have on our lives when a single decision has a spinoff in different directions.

The book explores the journey of Karthik, a software engineer based in Bangalore. Karthik’s world is shattered by the sudden loss of his job. The story imagines how the single events leads his life in different directions in parallel universes. Creatively titled, ‘If, Then, Else’, Each section explores the lives of 3 Karthiks in parallel universe, with each making a different decision and then each section deals with each of those lives for a decade. It’s fascinating to read as one Karthik finds a future abroad while the other explores his passion at home with varying results. So how will their lives turn out eventually?

The story is all about the choices you make and the consequences of our decisions and actions. The book makes you ponder over whether we really think through the decisions we make? Are some things destined to be despite our choices? The book will make you reflect on your own life choices and accept the consequences of our actions.

The topic though may sound complex is brilliantly executed with different layers. While one Karthik following his dreams, the other following his passion while another rolling aimlessly. Their alternate realities give us an intriguing look at the different ways to leading our life. One takes a practical look at life, one philosophical and the other a slightly neutral look. It is amusing to look at how a single decision can affect not just your own life but has a cascading effect on the lives of those around you,

There is so much to like about this book with the writing being the foremost; taking a thought provoking, sometimes amusing and somethings grim look at the lives unfolding in different universes. I loved how the character of Karthik was crafted with some subtle and some prominent differences depending on the experiences they endure. The narrative deftly switches between several alternate realities and as a reader you are captivated by the storytelling. The supporting characters like Nikhil, Tanika and Kalpana add a depth to the story. The fast paced narrative and rollercoaster of emotions makes it a refreshing read.

Overall, 'If Then Else' is a fascination read taking a closer look at the choices we make and the way it shapes our lives, entertaining you and also making you introspect A great read for everyone.

Title : IF THEN ELSE
Author : Sandhya Ranganathan

Sandhya Ranganathan's IF THEN ELSE is a compelling examination of decisions, outcomes, and the complex web of life's what-ifs. Karthik, a software developer residing in Bangalore, a bustling metropolis, is introduced to us in the story. With a committed relationship, a steady work, and the prospect of marriage, his life appears to be headed in a predictable direction. But Karthik's world falls apart when he unexpectedly loses his job.

The story's brilliance is found in the various Karthiks that arise in parallel universes and make unique decisions that cause their lives to take divergent turns. The narrative deftly moves between several alternate realities, each providing an intriguing and distinctive experience. As they follow Karthik through his experiences, hardships, and self-realizations, readers see the tangible bond between these two contrasting personalities.

If he could roll back time, would it all be okay, else lose everything that mattered? is the main question that propels the story. It gives the narrative a poignant undertone. Anyone who has ever pondered the route not taken can relate greatly to this question.

The writing is thought-provoking and vivid, and the characters are likable and compelling. We can't help but think on the significant influence that our decisions have on how our lives turn out as we follow the three Karthiks through their distinct yet connected experiences.

The story takes on a new depth with Tanika, Karthik's girlfriend, there. The novel deftly demonstrates the far-reaching effects of decisions on relationships by fusing her experiences into each of Karthik's worlds.

Karthik is my favorite character in the novel. His persona is highly sympathetic due to his several dimensions, perseverance, and internal challenges. His multiple incarnations in parallel universes allow us to see his development, self-realization, and the complexity of his decisions. His voyage serves as a potent metaphor for the human condition.

Most of us often wonder about the “what if” of our lives. What if we had made different choices? What if we had done something different? Sandhya’s book, “If Then Else” interestingly tackles this question.
It is the story of Karthik who is a software engineer, he has a good life, a solid girlfriend, and a secure life. But one fine morning everything changes as he gets laid off. He is now conferred a few choices regarding the next step in his life.
From this point, the story gets interesting. We got to know that multiple Karthiks are living in parallel words based on the choices which were made and the directions which were followed. How the life of each will affect the others? Will he have the same girlfriend in each of the realities? How does his life take shape in the different worlds?
To know the answers and to know how the multiple Karthiks will fare in their worlds, you need to read the story. I liked the imagination and the multiverse created by the author. It is an interesting take on the choices we make during our lives that shape our lives and how we wonder about what would happen if we had taken a different road. If you like good stories with an element of fantasy, do give this book a read.

But an unexpected job loss rocks his world and forces him to make some profound decisions. The book deftly leads us through the captivating journey of these three Karthiks, as they grapple with their own choices, experiences, and struggles. They also seem to sense each other's existence, which is an odd link. As we follow their trip, we can't help but wonder if they have to face the repercussions of their decisions or if time can be turned back to correct previous errors. In addition, we get a peek at Tanika's fate in these other universes. In "If-Then-Else," we explore the complexity of love, ambition, and identity while seeing the complicated structure of life's possibilities and the influence of decisions. This engrossing story, told in straightforward but powerful prose, invites us to consider our own life pathways and the paths we haven't gone. Readers may relate to the novel on a number of levels because of its realistic narrative.

Set against the backdrop of Bangalore, the narrative introduces us to Karthik, a software engineer whose life takes unexpected turns. The brilliance of the story lies in the vivid portrayal of three distinct fonts: "If," "Then," and "Else," each representing a pivotal realm that shapes Karthik's destiny.

Ranganathan's narrative innovation shines as she weaves a tapestry of parallel universes, each stemming from a singular decision. As we traverse these interconnected realms, the story becomes a symphony of possibilities, echoing the consequences of choices made and unmade. The author's descriptive prowess paints a vivid picture of Bangalore's chaotic charm, enriching the narrative with sensory details.

The heart of the novel beats with the central question: Can one rewrite the script of their life, or is destiny an irrevocable force? Through Karthik's multiple incarnations, readers witness the fragility of time and the profound impact of decisions on his relationships, particularly with Tanika. "IF-THEN-ELSE" is not just a novel; it's a kaleidoscopic exploration of the human experience, inviting readers to ponder their own "what-ifs" in the grand tapestry of existence. Happy 1-year birthday to our shared literary journey!

This book explores different possibilities and the 'what ifs' we all think about while making decisions or sometimes after the consequences.

Karthik is a software engineer with a good job, a loving girlfriend. What a sorted life he has!
But it doesn't take long enough for his perfect life to crumble down when he loses his job. How unfortunate! Soon he finds himself in a position that requires him to make some pretty tough decisions.

Decisions given so much of thought that brings their consequences to live through.
The plot is centred around parallel universe and possibilities.
Karthik of different universe make different decisions and get to face the consequences.

Through different Kathiks Author intricately displays how different decisions could impact in the upcoming days.

If-Then-Else is a captivating narrative centered around Karthik, a software engineer navigating the diverse paths of parallel worlds in bustling Bangalore.

The story takes a twist when Karthik, who is dealing with a sudden job loss, is confronted with life-altering choices.

The best part of the book was the concept of Parallel worlds. I loved it. An enthralling journey of the three Karthiks, each on a unique course, the tale becomes a mix of adventures, challenges, and the miracles of interconnected destinies.

The narrative explores the delicate balance between the allure of overseas opportunities, and the temptation to escape to the hills.

Among all these lies a question. Can Karthik rewind time to save what matters most, or is the cost of change too much? Grab the book to know

An extraordinary mix of decisions, consequences, and the unseen threads that bind them all, with the added mystery of Tanika's role in each version of Karthik's world. This book had everything I was looking for. Anyone who reads it will enjoy the book and will be lost in the plot. Recommend it to every one.
