What a terrific book. Scriptural - but so incredibly practical. I've started using some of the steps to evaluate my life, which is so incredibly revealing. I really recommend this
Christie’s book has made a huge difference in my crazy life. When I actually made a list of the things that were sabotaging my peace, I was able to see activities that had to be relinquished. Several stressful activities could not be eliminated because they are part of the life phase I am in. But seeing them as part of God’s plan for me at present, stripped them of their anxiety-producing hold. I highly recommend this book to those who are experiencing a disconnect between how they want to live from how they are actually living. Hurry Less, Worry Less enables them to take steps toward bringing the two lives together.
This was a book club read, not my usual fair, but I was pleasantly surprised by it. It was neat to read because the author is local, and the friend of a friend, so that's a fun fact. All of the scripture quotes weren't my cup of tea, but I found a lot of the tips she gave to be useful. I took notes throughout the reading and intend to go back to them. If you are looking for a little inspiration to slow down and reclaim your life and goals, I highly recommend this read.
Beautifully written book to inspire you everyday and throughout the year. I found this to be especially timely with the New Year approaching. Though there is a Christian slant to it, the theme is universal, so those who are not Christian could replace the word "God" with "Allah," or "the Universe," etc., and still benefit from the intentions of the book. I hope to read some of the other books by this author.
The book had some good ideas but it was very heavily Christian and bible-oriented. Nothing wrong with any of that, of course, but that should probably be more specifically noted in the title or something. There are many ways to change a stressful lifestyle.
