Being a friend’s plus one at a wedding where nobody knows me has benefits. Like having nothing to lose by making the scowling, handsome stranger in the corner smile.
There must be something in the wine to make me this flirty. I playfully flutter my lashes and chat as though we have known each other for years.
Suddenly, his beautiful eyes darken, and, in that moment, it dawns on me. No. No. No. Not him! We have met before—and it didn’t end well. I have to get out of here before he figures out who I am. Escape before he remembers my role in the public disaster that humiliated him.
Now, I have everything to lose with my professional reputation at stake. Only I’m stranded with roads blocked by the snowstorms blowing in a week before Christmas. And it’s impossible to hide away the entire weekend.
Resisting his charm is more difficult than I thought when his eyes tell me it’s GAME ON. How big of a mistake could it be if I play…
Best selling Australian author, Leesa Bow writes alphas with a fierce determination to win, and the women who will push for them to fight harder. Her love of sports romance came from inspiration from her sporty family. Leesa loves nothing more than to curl up with a good book, and a glass of South Australian wine.
" Sometimes, you meet people who make your world a better place just by being in it."
Wow what a fantastic read .
The Wrong Proposal was an emotional rollercoaster ride of epic proportions.
Misunderstood communication, extreme workaholic and a a father that expects more from his sons than they could possibly give . Franklin worked himself to the bone to the point he sacrificed his own happiness to make sure his family business ran smoothly. He was dominant, articulate, and underneath it all lonely.
Penelope was a dream I adored her . She was down to earth worked hard and had a heart the size of New York.
When two very different people from two very different walks of life meet on a beach one night who knew that kismet would intervene and bring these two souls full circle. ?.
I highly recommend this book it was beautifully written and the characters including side characters all brought something to the table . I love , love . And these two characters deserved every bit of it and more .

I was so disappointed with this book. There was no character growth of either of the main characters. Franklin put work above everything, and Penny allowed it. By the end of the book, I didn’t like either one of them.
I absolutely loved The Wrong Proposal. Franklin is the ultimate book boyfriend. He’s gorgeous, caring, driven and rich. Once he sets his sights on Penny, there is no other woman for him and he sets out to make her his. Penny is a lovely heroine who is not only beautiful and talented , but is environmentally conscious and has a heart of gold. The secondary characters are likeable and I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series. The wrong proposal ia fun and steamy and well written. Highly recommended
The Wrong Proposal is a beautiful story that shows you just how much love can accomplish. A storyline that will fill your heart with hope and leave you with a warm feeling from head to toe. The attraction and draw between Franklin and Penelope is instant and one night turns into so much more. Your emotions at times will be taken on a roller coaster ride between heartbreaking to heartwarming. Two characters that had differences but were so perfect for each other. A story that will touch your heart and will have you captivated from start to finish.
This is the first in a new series and this is Penny and Franklin’s story. This is a well written easy to read, emotional roller coaster, with family, friendships, grumpy / sunshine, opposites attract, forced proximity, humor, witty banter, angst, heartbreak, romance, palpable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, and unpredictable story, which tugs at the heartstrings throughout. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Oh so Penny is a wonderful character, she loving; kind, and stands strong for what she believes in. Franklin is a hard working, overstressed, multi company owner. When the two collide can they figure out how to live in the others world? I loved this book and enjoyed visiting the world they lived in. What a fun wonderful story.
This was such a fantastic read . It was well written story with captivating plot and likable characters. I loved both the Penelope and Franklin characters. The story was weaved so beautifully and I was immersed in their world. It was emotionally heartwarming and at times heartbreaking. Loved it sooo much. Highly recommend this book . Definitely a must read.
I’m really enjoyed this story, it kept me interested and made me smile. Penny makes Franklin a better human, but he certainly needs a kick up the backside to see it. Thankfully his mother comes to his rescue and helps Franklin see the light. Loved it and it set up book 2 nicely.
Leesa Bow knows how to write sexy heroes and likeable heroines! I really enjoyed this steamy romance - the chemistry was off the hook! It reminded me of a Nora Roberts novel as we were also well-invested in the careers of both characters. Love how the hero started out gruff and serious, then became putty in the heroine's hands. Highly recommend this one to anyone who enjoys a good romance!

This book is great! This is a new author to me, but I’d definitely read more from her. Loved the story, it was interesting, read it all at once and felt invested in the characters. I recommend this story.
This was such a lush read, I’ve been on a bit of a dark streak lately so this was a lovely break from the darkness.
This book was fun flirty quite funny in some parts. The ending happened very fast paced compared to the rest of the book. These characters show that sometimes, opposites attract. I loved Penny & Franklin’s story and can’t wait to read the next book in this standalone series xx
The Wrong Proposal was such a fun read! I could not put this one down. I was instantly hooked on Franklin and Penny. Both strong, fin and independent characters with great chemistry right from the start. I loved the flow of their story and the journey they took to get to their HEA. I loved the secondary characters too and can't wait for their stories! The extended epilogue was the best and I can't wait to get more of these two in future books!
So I read book 2 first and I’m please to say other than knowing the ending of The Wrong Proposal it didn’t ruining the story for me. Franklin and Penny’s will have you wanting more. This series is a must read.
I absolutely loved this fabulous book by Lisa. This is book one of a new series about The Hendricks family and it is kicked off with the eldest, Franklin. After a chance encounter with Penny that leaves a lasting impression, they reconnect where sparks fly. Drawn to each other but Franklin is a workaholic and coming from different backgrounds, the struggle is real. Despite their challenges, they are perfect for each other and I was hooked from the beginning with this well written story. I am excited for more of this series. I received this book as an arc for my honest opinion.
Wow, this book would have to be Leesa’s best book yet! This is the story of Franklin, workaholic and billionaire, and Penny, humble and headstrong who met in the most unusual circumstances on a beach years before meeting again at a wedding. When Penny vowed to make Franklin smile, fireworks were set off and the temperature rose!
The cracks appear when secrets are exposed and Penny’s trust is threatened when she learns that Franklin hasn’t been completely honest with her. The story is so well written I felt the pain, excitement, laughter, love, heartbreak and allllll the steam 🔥🔥 in this book. I adored all of the sub characters from Franklin and Penny’s parents to Franklins siblings and Penny’s friends and I can’t wait for the next book in this series to continue with the characters I’ve fallen in love with.
Quality of writing: 7/10 Pace: 7/10 Plot development: 6.8/10 Characters: 7.6/10 Enjoyability: 8.3/10 Ease of reading: 8.5/10 Ending: 7/10
Would I recommend? YES. I liked that they found each other and always spiralled back together. I liked their communication, general fair treatment, and how they kept returning to the other. Characters were great but I didn't find anything unlikeable about anyone which didn't feel real. I kinda didnť like the ending, felt rushed and didn't use all its potential. I feel compelled to highlight author's renovation description, I think it was pretty detailed.
Franklin and Penny. I loved these two. Both are hardworking. Finding time for each can be hard. Not sure of his feelings would add more stress to a workaholic. What I found refreshing for me was although his behaviour was sad for Penny and I felt for her, I understood Franklin’s thinking. Penny not holding a grudge. I loved the maturity of these two.
4 1/2 stars This contemporary romance story is fantastic, it is so easy to read because you get hooked into the storyline quickly and, to be honest, I found it hard to put down. This is definitely not your average billionaire romance, it is so much more.
Penelope and Franklin are opposites in so many ways yet like the old saying, they really do become attracted to each other. It’s not easy going or plain sailing but then what worthwhile thing is? Both are terrific lead characters and extremely likeable, especially Penny.
I won’t give anymore away but I will say you might need to be prepared for quite a few emotions pulling at your heartstrings. It’s not an angsty book where you need a box of tissues, but the way this story is written, you become so invested in the characters you feel everything they go through. There is some great humour throughout the book where you can’t help but chuckle. The epilogue is 🙌 and now I need more stories about these wonderful characters. Hmmm, Charlotte’s story is going to be epic, I can already tell.
I loved this story , I had a hard time putting it down , except I needed to sleep, I finished it in the morning , I laughed and I cried, if I could give it a higher score I would, Thank you
There was a very good beginning, and I really liked the writing style. It was so easy to read, and it was steamy and funny. But another half of the book made this book so cheap and without anything interesting. Like common, there was a lot of potential for situations to make the plot more intrigued, but sadly, it was so dry, and endings were out of nowhere.
Delightful book which had me beaming from ear to ear, heart full of hope and adorable sentiments from start to finish. articulate writing style and multifaceted characters who are distant in reality from my own, yet they seem mine
Being a voracious reader comes with its risks. Often I'm on a constant hunt for newer stories, fresher feels and Novel approaches to bring two people together in a book. for a book to truly make me fall in love with its story, there needs to be a certain synergy of all its elements, an undeniable spark flickering between the characters that arouses my interest immediately and makes me unable to step away. Billionaire romances are dime a dozen and I've read my share of good to bad.
Having said that, I was immediately taken in by this adorable yet angsty tale of unusual love by Leesa. Class disparity is evident from the get go and as is the norm, this twisted cinderella-esque story starts with Penny "Sassy mouth" Gilbert placesetting someone's beach proposal scene. Franklin Hendricks seems to be passing by, super impressed. Which he claims is by the setting, but really it's Penny who holds his attention. He just doesn't know it yet.
Two Years Later.... serendipity brings them together and yep...you guessed it...Embers flare up, passion ignites and we now have a fabulous love story. Weird twist they both are trying to place each other.....
The story is written very well, troubles of corporate world re thrown in, pretty well detailed and accounted, and we see that Franklin is not just a typical BBF billionaire with caves full of money and ALL the time on his hands. Come to think of it, that's what I HATE about book Billionaire heros. In early 20s, billions in Bank and don't seem to work at all. *eyeroll*
Here's where Leesa is refreshingly different. She shows how hard rich people work. Their lives totally consumed by work..work..work. How they fight fires that seem to crop up every second of their lives. I loved how she plotted the story. fast paced, yet moments of love are well placed oasis in between. I'm thoroughly impressed with character development and growth. Franklin goes from obsessive workaholic to mildly workaholic, still busy but makes time. Penny is conscientious, responsible and driven. She makes Franklin to be a better version of himself. It was sweet. Side characters of Hugh, zara, Jobe, Bryan, Brandon and Charlotte add to the fun. An enjoyable story with all the right ingredients measured to perfection. 5 stars for toes in sand Follow me on: Email🌻 Bookbub 🌻 Twitter🌻 Instagram🌻 Blog🌻 Facebook🌻 Amazon 🌻
