Cana Dei , the dark force, is rising. Its very name has driven fear into the hearts of citizens of the dimensions for millennia. So much so that it’s started to gain a grip on their souls.
Now, the dark force has found its way into the thoughts and dreams of some of the most powerful magicians. Still, there is one – a warlock’s daughter, the silver-haired dragon rider Seramina. Prophecies have warned of the dangers of her powerful magic. For it is she who under the tutelage of Cana Dei is destined to destroy the worlds.
It seems that only Ben, the Bengal cat who rides dragons and vanquishes warlocks, can save her from her destiny. But first he must deal with the dark force growing within.
“A Cat’s Guide to Dealing with Destiny” is the eighth novel in the Dragoncat series of fun and child-friendly dragon riding adventures where not only humans befriend dragons, but cats (and a dog) too.

The latest dragon cat book finds Ben having the voice of Cana Dei in his mind like Seramina telling him how great he could be if he’ll only give in to the voice and join him.
The great crystal has been destroyed and Ben and his friends are going to the Crystal Caverns to find a replacement for it. When Saramina’s vision is shown by a crystal to everyone on what her destiny is that she has been fighting against for so long, she is imprisoned by the white mages upon their return to the academy. Ben and his friends plan to break her out but when Lasinta and her dark warlocks come Saramina breaks out of her prison herself.
She along with Ben and a host of new dragon riding recruits journey to Bestian Academy where Ta’ra gains her gifts from her crystal and Ben is told what he needs to do to save the dimensions from Saramina’s vision. When Saramina is taken through a portal, Ben and Ta’ra follow her where Ta’ra changes Saramina’s destiny!
I enjoy this series and look forward to continuing the adventures of Ben and his friends. With the leader of the dark warlocks now gone they still have to contend with other five so there will be more adventures yet to come!
I recommend this series as one you’ll enjoy. Its fantasy at its finest as you’ll read of talking cats, dragons and the age old battle between good and evil!
Come along and enjoy this adventure that is unlike any you’ve read before! You’ll find great wisdom from the mind of Salanraja and courage and determination to change destinies from Ta’ra as well as what true friendship is all about when the chips are down!
Another great novel in the adventures of Ben(gie), the magical cat & his friends.
Funny this didn't hit me until this volume, but Ben loves to brag about his :famous" ancestor, George. My cat's name is Georgy! That's why I love this series, lol!
Until the end of the book, another of the cliffhangers were getting resolved that I thought this might be it........ but at the end we learned that the malignant spiritual force (Cana Dei) behind all the issues Ben, his dragon & their friends have been dealing with is still alive & plans to come back & fight another day.
I don't like to summarize plots but I'll mention that Ben is being elevated to the captain of the Cat/Dragon army, it looks like former fairy, now cat Ta'Ra & Ben likely will become a kitty couple, the magically super powerful good girl turned bad issue seems to get resolved, & they are going to have a serious fight on their hands in book 9 (I'm curious how far Chris plans to go with the series).
I will tell you that I have read all 8 that are so far available, & they are a joy to read. I really hope the author becomes better known. If you want to learn how cats may think (& I'm certain they do), this beats the heck out of a self help book on the same subject!
To close, (Meester George (my furrball), just said "hi" in cattish.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
(I received this copy for the ARC group, so I got to read it early. Eat your hearts out.)
Ben, Ta'ra, Esme, Max, Palimali, the humans at Dragonsbond Academy and all the dragons are sent to the Versta Caverns to retrieve a new Great Crystal for the school, which the White Mages had been protecting.
Alas, in the presence of all, the new Great Crystal shows a dire prophecy from the Cana Dei involving Seramina and all the crystals in that particular cave shatter. This gives the White Mages, under Captain Alliander, a reason to place the school under martial law - again.
Now it is up to Ben and company to figure out how to free the school from martial law and keep the dire prophecy from happening. This time, at least, Salanraja is involved!
Will that ploy work, or will they have to go to Plan C?
Ben's a cat, but not just any cat. Ben's a Dragoncat. He can communicate with his dragon who will fly him where the pair are needed to fight evil. Ben struggles to get past life just being for himself - a privileged cat. His associates aren't afraid to remind him "You’re making this about your stomach."
This adventure finds him as a critical force in saving the world from total destruction. His does rise above and works with his allies to forge a path forward.
Ben, Dragoncat and his dragon Salanraja along with his cat friends Ta'ra the former fairy or Cat Sidhe, Esme and Max the Sussex Spaniel along with his human friends Seraminia, Ange, Rine and his mentor Aleam are battling against Cana Dei (the malevolent entity that is trying to rule the 7 dimensions) to thwart the prophecy where Seraminia breaks the worlds! Can they beat destiny? Read the book to find out! I'm sure you will enjoy it a great deal like I did! Enjoy!!!
Ben, our favourite dragoncat rider, is at it again! He’s trying to stop the warlocks from breaking the world, and to keep Seramina safe, all the while. Meanwhile, he dreams of retirement in a little cottage... While juggling his two companions.… Lots of balls in the air... An interesting twist near the end... Looking forward to the next book. I received a free copy of this book, with no obligation.
An absolutely adorable, happy, sad, and suspenseful feline-tastic) book about perseverance and being true to yourself with witty banter that will have you rolling on the floor, clutching your sides and wondering just how hilarious a talking cat can be...
This is a great series for children and adults, great for family readalongs. You have magic, dragons, adventures and best of all, told to you by a Bengal cat who loves smoked salmon!
