No plan survives the first hit.-- Clausewitz. Or Mike Tyson. Maybe Taylor Swift?
I had plans. Next time I saw country sensation Blake Stein, twenty years after our disastrous breakup, I’d be cool, sophisticated, mature. Now here I am with sweaty palms and powdered sugar on my shirt.
Blake's only in town for a few days, and even though he's staying next door, I can avoid him, right? Everything goes to plan, until his brother’s ex shows up. To avoid his toxic former sister-in-law, Blake spends the night in my guest room. And a celebrity photographer catches him leaving the next morning.
Now Blake and I are the latest celebrity "it" couple and on the run. With that annoying photographer hot on our trail, an oompah band setting the tempo, and a hundred-and-twenty-pound dog riding shotgun, will I ever get my serene existence back? Or will this road trip change my life forever?
Stolen Love Song is a sweet, second-chance romantic comedy road trip featuring a strong woman, a handsome country star, crazy pet shenanigans, and a guaranteed happily ever after.
Lia Huni writes sweet romantic comedy that won't steam your glasses. After travelling the world with the Air Force, she moved with her husband and three children to a small town in the mountains of Oregon that bears no resemblance to the town in her books. Well, not much.
Okay, there's a strong resemblance, but it's completely coincidental.

Following up on the great start of Stolen Kisses, or as it was previously known Stollen (the German Sweet Holiday Dessert Bread) Kisses. Stolen Love Song continues a wonderfully sweet and a little spicy Small Town self contained, humorous, HEA. Although this is Book Two in the Stolen Hearts of Rotheberg Series, you can easily pick this up and read it without having read Book One... but I will say - as with any good series - there is a little more humor and a few in-jokes and references that you'll see if you have read Stollen Kisses first.
If you want to take a great laugh out loud Road Trip... then this is your book. As with all good Road Trips, you'll meet a cast of memorable characters and even a wonderful and often strangely helpful cat and dog, a home town band that will pull you deeper into the Rotheberg Small Town Life and humming "The Goatherd Song" from Sound of Music, and really get your taste buds whetted for a pretzel and schnitzel; then, you can do any Wurst :P than grab this book. There is just enough tension that you'll be rooting for this pair to get together despite their differences, watch the H and h grow and fall into each other, and you'll be left writing Huni asking when Book Three is coming out!
I am writing an honest review in response to an ARC that I received.
Rachel knew she was going to have to see her ex Blake while he was in town. His brother lives next door. She wasn't planning on spending as much time together as his brother caused though. What would you do if you thought your best friend was making the biggest mistake of their lives? How about if it's your brother? Throw in an oversized dog, a Houdini of a cat that the whole town claims and a snow storm. This was my first book by Lia Huni and I loved it. Can't wait to read the next one. I received an ARC via Bookfunnel. Review voluntarily given.
After 20 years, Rachel is reunited with her ex who is now a famous country music star. A lot of chaos ensues, with an unexpected road trip and pet hijinks. I didn’t like this book as much as the first one, but it still kept my interest enough. I didn’t really feel the romance until towards the end, which was probably a factor. I thought some of the situations that came up were too unbelievable and felt out of character, plus there’s some deception along the way that just didn’t sit right with me. Suspending some reality though, this book certainly didn’t have a dull moment!
This was a good second chance story. It was very sweet. I enjoyed the trip to Reno and Las Vegas. All the mishaps of travelling, storms, food, cars, pets, are well done. It also looks at a different side of Las Vegas, not just the casinos. The characters are well written. It seems like they were good friends. The flashbacks were helpful to the story also.
I love reading about female veterans because I am one, but I'm not the first love of a CMA winner. Rachel and Blake's hilarious winter trip with a huge dog, escape-artist cat, and a pesky photographer is so entertaining that I read it in one day. There are many interesting dynamics in the story, including family, friends, and foes. The ending is perfect.
This was a fun book. Second chance romance, highschool sweethearts, fake dating, road trip to Vegas, and country music makes a great combination and a cute rom com story.
Souls tend to go back to who feels like home. -N.R. Hart. There is an invisible thread between two people destined to be together. Those connected are bound no matter the time or place. This lagend feels like the summary for this book.

Rotheberg quirkiness + road trip to Vegas = top-notch shenanigans of the hilarious kind :)
Also, this is Rachel's book, and I wanted to read her story ever since meeting her for the first time in Stolen Kisses. Blake turns out to be a wonderful match for her, and I loved to see these two getting back together again (what can I say, I'm a sucker for second-chance romances...).
