While many parts of this book were a little redundant, the message is resoundingly clear and is a good motivational read. I read this book twice, although it was about 10 years apart, it was the type of motivation I needed to hear again. I looked at the various sentences I highlighted and marked in the book that spoke to my apprehension about moving forward and uncovering my hidden potential. All too often we ingest the opinions of who others think we should be, what our value to society is or in whatever category we are in to accept where they place us.
Dr. Myles Munroe reminds us that our identity is not found in the prejudgements of others and that we should not allow disappointments to disarm us. He makes a profound statement in his preface that the wealthiest spot on this planet is not in the oil fields of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia or Iraq but rests in our local cemeteries and graveyards. Our wealth of dreams have been dashed into the poverty of discouragement.
We can't fall for the limitations of the world, the lies, and deception that make us think such opposition is the truth. Dr. Munroe urges us to uncover our potential because we have a responsibility to deposit the wealth of our potential in this generation so the next generation can build their future on the unlimited possibilities within us. Whatever God calls for, He provides for.

The author helps us understand that we have great potential locked within us. He shares how we can unleash this potential. Potential is not something you have already done, it is something you are capable of doing, but don't know it yet. If you've done it already, this is not your potential. He says the greatest enemy of our potential is the successes and accomplishments we have had. These can cause us to get comfortable and stop unlocking the rest of our potential. He shares keys that unlock your potential, as well as a list of things that can hinder our potential that we should be aware of, so we don't fall into those traps.
I have news for you, satan does not want you to reach your potential, but God wants you to reach your potential. One of the first steps the author says to take is to get connected with your Source. No one knows more about the potential of something then the manufacturer or creator who made it. God has given us His Word and the Holy Spirit and we can know our purpose and become all God created us to be. The opposite is also true, if we do not get connected to our source, then we will never know what we could have become. Make no mistake, you may reach a level of your potential, but you will not reach 100% of your potential. Only the Creator God knows what He put in you.

I really enjoyed this book because it reminded me that my potential is truly tied to the Source. It reminded to once again, dream and act big. It reminded me to pray intentionally and wholeheartedly, not timidly. It reminded me that I must truly desire what I hope, wish and prayed for. It reminded me that I am not stuck.
I didn’t love a few parts of it and I wish there were more specific, deeply impacting soul searching questions. They were almost deep enough, but a bit too surface level and too many back to back without a break in the writing.

This book was thought provoking to me very motivating and it spoke to the awesome potential trapped within me waiting to be realized. It made me uncomfortable with my present state of accomplishment and dissatisfy with resting on my past success.

The book focuses on bringing to one’s consciousness the necessity of unleashing your potential for the glory of God and the society at large as well as the willpower to refuse settling for mediocrity.
Myles Munroe began a shocking but true statement about the graveyard being the richest place because lying therein are untapped potentials that were not used due to certain factors.

The author pointed out that you are responsible for the initial that is stored within you and understanding it as well as using it effectively is your sole responsibility.One of the greatest enemies of potential is success, it is crucial to understand that there is no retirement plan when it comes to potential.
He outlined that God is the source of all potential because before creation he was still the source of discovering potential.
My favourite chapter is chapter 4 where the author shared that God sees me as a person of worth which is different from the opinions of others.You can't discover yourself by using someone's life as a yardstick.
He explained how Satan destroyed how we see and appreciate ourselves as created in God's image using Adam and Eve to illustrate his point. To understand the potential of a thing you might know the condition for which it is meant to exist.
The Holy Spirit allows the dormant power to come to life, and to function to the fullest potential I need the Holy Spirit. Perception of one's full potential is revealed through the help of the Holy Spirit alone. The spirit is where one knows the deepest things, not the mind, body or emotions.
According to the author he stated that when you see yourself as worthwhile only then can you appreciate and see others as worthwhile too. Born again is an opportunity to start over—it’s finally getting back to the first chapter of God’s book on you.
The ones who actually bless humanity are the ones who believe that there is more to them than what people have said. It is your responsibility to live out your ability. God has given you skill or ability that the world needs.
He explained that a shortcut is not the way God intended for you to leave because it negates one's potential and destroys possibilities. In order to have the potential to be fulfilled and released it has to be exercised.
The four steps to accomplish your dream stood out for me which are: Prepare prayerfully, plan purposefully, proceed positively, pursue persistently. In order to fulfill your true potential you have to be related to the source which is God. I totally agree with the author when he stated that the potency of your potential needs eternal life to be realized.
In conclusion he shared a study guide to help you understand potential a whole lot better.
I highly recommend this wonderful book to anyone who wants to discover and utilize your potential.

As it isn’t novel the book combines spiritual insights with practical strategies, encouraging self-discovery, goal setting, and avoiding self-imposed limitations to fully realize one’s potential. It is written as a self-help book and aims to help people become the best version of themselves.
Munroe argues that every individual is endowed with unique talents and a distinct purpose. Although, mentions that many potentials die with the person if it is not used. This way it helps individuals understand and maximize their potential in life. The book covers various topics related to personal development, including the power of positive thinking, the importance of having a vision and setting goals, developing discipline and resilience.
If one can fully focus and apply the topics mentioned in the book it can really help to see the things that are covered and forgotten. It encourages not to focus on people's judgment or presumptions. It has a clear and straightforward message with biblical foundation. At the same time one thing I noticed in this book is that it has the same reputative parts in most of the chapters. This might give the same message all over the book but besides that we can benefit a lot from the book.
It has been a year since I read this but it is one of my favorite books that I want to go through again. Understanding and applying the principles outlined in the book in depth transform my life by understanding that I have a unique potential that I need to discover. The world is in need of each individual's ability to harmonize and grow. My main takeaway from this book is: To succeed I need to leave my comfort zone and work for new discoveries.
One can achieve personal fulfillment and make a significant impact on the world, but it should be out of our shell. I prefer to read this book to every person who tends to discover more about inner potential and growth. Also it guides through a spiritual routine that helps to self discover and relate with God.

This book goes deep into spirituality and ties it to what goes on in your life and around you all with the aim of ensuring you maximize your potential. A lot of what is said makes sense and the examples used to drive the point home are easily understood. I will definitely be reading it again.

Dr. Myles defines potential as that which is yet to be discovered. It is not to be judged by I.Q or test scores but a unique gift that you have. One of the most essential paths of discovery is connecting with the source.

This is first book I read on the subject of purpose. Dr. Myles Munroe was a trailblazer! There are too many popular quotes and concepts introduced to list. It can be a quick read but I suggest slowing down, taking notes and journaling the insights.
