The Sword of White Sommer was forged to be wielded by the Black Wulf, who is the rightful king.
Now safely at Hydan Rock Manor, Tharon and Roswynd spend time recovering, plotting, and preparing to face Tharon's brother. But to become king, Tharon must capture Saxon, who has sequestered himself in the impenetrable Monales Castle. With only one possible route into the castle, Tharon and Roswynd stake their lives on freeing White Sommer and finally ending the madness once started by Edeva's murder.

Part 4, The Sword of White Sommer, is the final part to the Of Wulf and Wynd novel from The Kingdoms of Gyldren series. It includes F/F Omegaverse*, Fantasy Romance, Royalty & Nobility, Murder Mystery, Enemies-to-Lovers, G!P*, and a HEA. Length: 118,000 words
*See the author's blog for more details about Omegaverse and related terms.
Lexa Luthor is an avid writer and reader of the Omegaverse trope especially including F/F pairing. In her books, each main character(s) is a strong-willed female, who navigates difficult situations but always ends up finding love with their mate. Every tale has a twist and is gripping, sexy, and even a bit adventurous.
When not writing, Lexa enjoys binge watching television shows like Game of Thrones, Gentleman Jack, or The L Word. Her other favorite hobbies are playing cornhole, rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs, and laying around the pool in the summer. At times, Lexa finds time to read romances (both dark and fluffy) and great sci-fi books but nothing else can beat a steamy, downright erotic F/F romance with biting, knotting, and slightly possessive love.

I did it. I reread all the prior books and then dug into this one and was really happy I did it that way. So many emotions throughout this journey but couldn’t be more happy with how this concluded knowing they got what they deserved in the end. Interested to see what’s in store next with that bonus scene…
A terrific ending for this series. We got to see a big piece of their life together. And their love and happiness. I hope there will be a bonus in the future where we get to see them having a child.
Sad to see them go so the ending is bittersweet but I loved seeing Saxon getting what he deserved (even if I wanted Tharon to kick his arse harder!). Loved how Roswynd’s omega showed her face while *spoiler* and how the author showed us a glimpse of how the families go back to sharing the special bond they had in the past. By the way, I see another book coming and that epilogue was awesome!
I wish I could reexperience this entire tetralogy all over again.
CHARACTER IMPRESSIONS: Tharon Blakesley Tharon is at her peak in this story. Her commitment, protectiveness, and love for Roswynd come to the forefront in every interaction she has with her wife. I love how unapologetic she is about showing affection towards Roswynd even if other people are around. Yet despite her being the tough alpha, she does have moments where she falters and doubts herself, which result in the most wholesome moments of her finding comfort in Roswynd.
She finally learns the truth about her mother’s death and what led to her father’s untimely passing as well, and it was so satisfying to see her seek justice for her parents. I enjoyed how she had this commanding persona in front of everyone, but in front of Roswynd, she’s a loving and vulnerable woman.
Roswynd Arrington Still the best girl. Still deserves everything. She and Tharon belong to one another until the end of their days.
I love how the author doesn’t gloss over Roswynd’s trauma and actually spends some time at the beginning of the story addressing it. Every step of the way, Tharon was with her but she was the one who took on the difficulty of facing her fears herself. That river scene where she almost broke had me in tears, but I loved how Tharon helped her.
And then we get to the second half of the book and I was ecstatic from how everything played out. Seeing Roswynd at her best, working through things with Tharon, was an absolute joy to read. These two wives are always facing something new in each story but the one constant thing that doesn’t change is their devotion to one another, which often result in them supporting each other when the other person isn’t sure what to do.
MINOR CHARACTERS: Pol and Murray. Best knights ever. They deserve a raise.
The Guards of Monales Castle. I’ve never rooted for so many new characters in my life. The moment some of them showed who they were loyal to, I almost spat out my drink and cheered.
The Arrington Family. I was overjoyed to see Roswynd’s family return. King Garret is still the best father. I’m happy Roswynd’s mother is more of herself in this story. Her siblings are all lovable as well. Their closeness and love for one another is a testament to why Roswynd is such a kind and caring woman.
The Blakesley Family. Edeva’s spirit is always a constant and I love how much she’s impacted other characters. Her memory will live on. In the end, Eustace was more of a king than a father but I’m glad he realized how wrong he was to treat Tharon the way he did when she was younger.
Saxon Blakesley. Coward, narcissist, dickhead. Made my blood boil. I wanted him to suffer more but what happened to him was fitting for his character. Of course, he would go out the way he did, that insolent pig.
Melanie and Radford. I didn’t trust Melanie in the previous books but I was surprised at how things turned out for her. Her son, Radford, is just an innocent bystander and I’m glad some attention was given to chart out his future. It’s all thanks to Tharon of course, who would never separate a child from his mother since she knows what that feels like.
Verity. Who is this woman? I want to know more. Why introduce her in the final book and spark so many questions? I want moar! Will she be in another standalone story? I must know!
STORY IMPRESSIONS: I loved how even though there’s some political strife in the story, the main conflict is between family. Enemies are harder to fight when they share the same blood, but I’m also grateful that found family is just as important in this story.
It was epic to see how things that were set up in previous books come into play for this final installment. Tharon knowing how to catch arrows, Roswynd learning to use a bow and arrow, all make certain scenes believable and impressive. I relished that scene when Roswynd told Tharon to keep running after their target while she dropped everything to ready her bow and arrow to fire a shot to slow this person down.
Tharon and Roswynd were fire in this story.
That bonus scene after the epilogue left me with so many questions about the mysterious character who was introduced. I must know more about her.
Overall, this entire tetralogy was an amazing experience. Everything and everyone has a satisfying conclusion. 10 out of 10, I’ll be rereading this again.
HIGHLIGHTS: * Highlight 1: Tharon taking care of Roswynd during the first few chapters. * Highlight 2: Roswynd being horny and possessive over Tharon. * Highlight 3: Tharon’s constant hunger for food (and Roswynd). * Highlight 4: “You are my kingdom.” * Highlight 5: * Highlight 6: Finally got to see Tharon catch an arrow! * Highlight 7: * Highlight 8: How cute Tharon is when she complains about not wanting to go on a ship. * Highlight 9: The entirety of Chapter 13. * Highlight 10: Beautiful book cover. * Highlight 11: Characters from another book make an off-screen cameo. * Highlight 12: Roswynd blatantly asking Tharon, “Are we fucking tonight?” * Highlight 13: “I will worship you until the end of our days.” * Highlight 14: Edeva’s spirit always being present through people’s memories. * Highlight 15: Tharon and Roswynd finally being able to dance in front of everyone, which they never had the chance to do when they were younger.
So I'm giving it five stars because I absolutely enjoyed this series from the first book to this book this universe has been amazing with war building and I can't take away from the author's amazing storytelling when it comes to that but I was slightly disappointed with the conclusion of the battle I really wanted a full-blown battle like her other alpha series she got going on that she's also wrapping up and I'm also two books behind of that one and I need to catch up with that book but but I'm still happy with the conclusion all the mystery was solved and we got the happy ending and I can't be upset about that but I just kept being told that Tharon this is total badass warrior and I got glimpse of that warrior throughout the series but I wanted to see more of it and I think that's where my disappointment comes in that.
But other than that I absolutely enjoyed the series now we will introduce to a slightly new character and I hope that the next book has the character with her I think that it open up with the bonus chapter for those who read and I'm not going to spoil it but this character has been mentioned in her name is Verity I don't know what the next book holds but she sounds interesting her lifestyle is definitely different from the from Theron so that might be interesting to see her story.
Either way this universe is deep is Rich and I look forward to finding out who the next protagonist is going to be occluding their love interest as well so yeah I'm excited for the next book in this universe and thank you Lexa for giving us a wonderful work of alpha and Omega stories and I can't wait to see what you do next.
Oh and I also purchased this book off of Google Play store so for those who have that is definitely the books are there as well sometimes I can't travel with my Kindle tablet so this is the next thing for me to have the book on my phone which is cool.
But again I have enjoyed Theron and Roswynd story I hope to see them again in the future but thank you for sharing.
An outstanding series is coming to an end! When you get to the cliffhanger, you always want to know and read the end. When it's there, you'd like to forget everything again and start again! That's how I feel anyway! For me, it had the quality of "Game of Thrones", one of my absolute favorite series. The fight for the throne and power, set in the Omegaverse, was absolutely fantastic! As always, it was thrilling, hot and exciting with the hoped-for happy ending that we all wanted! Lexa Luthor simply writes extraordinary love stories that grab you and don't let go, and yet there is so much emotion, love and especially the Alpha and Omega bond is so deep and beautiful. So, if you haven't started yet, you should start with "Of Iron and Gold"! I promise, it's worth it! On Lexa Luthor's website, the Omegaverse is explained for everyone who doesn't know it yet...
Great. I thought it was a well-done conclusion to Roswynd and her big, bad Alpha. It was a very smutty read though, maybe a bit too much, and it was healthy levels of dramatic and action. The serious conclusion to the world of Roswynd and Tharon is a nice happy one but I hope Lexa continues with this series and expands more onto other characters. Maybe more books in the future in this world can focus on different individual kingdoms within Gyldren. Eventually having ALL the characters come together to fight together. The interaction between Tharon and Aubrey would be fun and interesting to see.
I really wish there would be a book 6, but Lexa Luthor did a fantastic job wrapping up this series. While some of the resolutions were predictable, others were clearly not. If you haven’t read the first 4 book, I insist that you do before reading this one because the plot development here is key. I finished this in about a day and so wish it could’ve been longer. If you’re looking for other Omegaverse novels, I suggest you look at Luthor’s other series featuring Charlie and Kal.
Fantastic end to the series. You know you are invested in the characters and story when you have finished the book, you are still thinking about then characters. Wondering what happened next …. Did they have pups?! Wonderful storytelling
Now I would love to know what kind of a shape shifter just killed that assassin. This was well written especially around 80% of the book(😊sorry had to mention that) and I am looking forward to your future series whatever they may be.
Thrilling and entertaining final installment of this series. Many hard truths surfaced in this book. It is how the characters reacts to the harsh answers to the questions that plague them. By letting go, it ultimately, heals them and makes them stronger and free.
I have enjoyed every single book you have written so far. While it's sad that this series is ending, I look forward to reading your future works. Congrats on creating such inviting characters and an amazing world.
aaaa! I so hope we get to see more in this universe. I want to know about the budding bromance between Radford and Eustice. I want to see Roswynd and Tharons kids! this series is special cause it got me back into reading
a satisfying end to the series. Tharon and Roswynd are one of my favourite pairings of all time. Books 1 and 2 are definitely the strongest in the series, but book 4 has a solid and satisfying ending. I'm so excited for more in the Kingdoms of Gyldren!
Throughout this series, the focus has always been on Roswynd and Tharon, the plot always coming second. This volume chooses to focus a lot more on the plot - which isn't such an interesting one to begin with. In the first few volumes that didn't matter, because of the character driven nature of the series, but in this book that cannot be overlooked anymore. On average I have greatly enjoyed this series. I'm just a little disappointed by its ending.
