I found this book extremely well written, and it offers a very comprehensive menu of positive actions to take. The author is very comprehensive in his understanding of the causes of anxiety. But the really important part of the book is the advice on overcoming in a very practical way the behaviours caused by anxiety. Very highly recommended.
Not a fan of self help books, but this one is really good. I absolutely loved it. Learnt and understood soo many good things. Thank you soo much for writing this book🤍
This is a self-help book with a difference. It provides a set of tools and techniques that can be used to replace bad patterns with positive ones.
The first part of the book has a theoretical focus, made digestible through the use of imagery. Using the ‘polar bear’ and ‘parrot’ to explain the author’s two-brain theory was particularly powerful. After reading this section, I could recognise in real-life situations that my thinking brain had been hijacked and was then in a position of self-awareness where I could apply the techniques suggested in the book.
The highlight of the book for me was the 12-week programme. If you are looking for a book that will help you to create a different future for yourself, then this part will help you with what you need to do. Most similar books miss this practical application, so it's this that makes Breaking Bad Patterns stand out for me.
I finished this book feeling optimistic about the future. Through a new understanding of how my brain works, an awareness of my patterns, and a toolkit of strategies, I feel that my present and future can be different from my past.
