3.5-ish. It gets brownie points because the h actually LEFT when the H refused to claim her, and in fact was with another man when the H tracked her down. They're kinda small though because it took him several months to realize she was gone. :/

So Rafe, for reasons we're never clued in on, refuses to claim Sheila, or admit he has feelings for her. So he essentially treats her like...I dunno...a blow up doll maybe? He doesn't acknowledge her or talk to her much if anyone is around, and well, after he came back from a trip and didn't speak to her for several days, she'd had enough. He had the thought that she was just saying that and was more than willing to press his point but the master and others stopped him. So...

The bulk of the story starts 6 months later, when he's finally tracked her down and finds her with another guy. (yep; caught in the act. Perfect.) He doesn't drag his heels for long this time re: claiming her but there's a much older vampire - an evile one - and that one decides to have new guy for a snack. Their paths cross with a couple of his old victims, who just happened to grab the poor guy and turn him - sortof. Fortunately, Rafe does help the guy.

Anyway, the bad guy is taken out, Rafe is now a master and he has a second...or lieutenant...or something...in the new guy. He also shares - once - the h, with the new guy.

The formatting issue wasn't completely absent, but for the most part, someone did pay attention to scene changes and put a few breaks and asterisks in. So...yay?

Rafe was a total asshat at the beginning of this novel. I wasn't sure he'd been able to redeem himself, but in the end he did. I was bothered by the fact that the major villain from the last book was defeated so easily in this book. It seemed to take no effort at all. Very strange.

Otherwise a good read.

"The Hunters: Rafe and Sheila" by Shiloh Walker. Book 6 in The Hunters series.

Very enjoyable to read. There has been a slight buildup to Rafe and Sheila getting together throughout the last two books and their story doesn't disappoint.

Sheila has loved Rafe since she first saw him. But after having a relationship with him he's started to pull away. So much so he won't even talk to her, until he wants sex. Well Sheila wants more than that and if Rafe can't give it to her she will find someone who will.

Rafe can't get Sheila out of his head. He's angry and irritable. So when he finds out that Sheila is not coming home he's determined to go after her. Even though he knows he's not the one for her. But he wants her anyway. When he finds her, he never thought that she would be with someone else....

A really good storyline between the two characters. I really enjoyed the secondary characters of Ella and Ronnie too! So heart wrenching! I found myself sighing and thinking "aaawwwwwww" at most of the scenes from them! The climax of the story was really good but I was like "Really? That's how it goes down?" I don't want to say to much; I don't want to spoil it for you! Regardless of that, the chemistry between Rafe and Sheila is so intense! Then throw in Dominic and you may need a fan beside you as you read. Yes, there is a three-some thrown in for good measure, a theme throughout Shiloh Walker's books, so no shocker there.

Overall, very fun to read. Hints of future couplings are found throughout the book. I can't wait to read the next one!

Unlike the previous 'Hunters' novels, this storyline had a different feel to it. With the previous books both main characters are aware of their feelings for each other but one or the other are fighting against it.

Sheila is aware of her feelings but Rafe only sees her as a 'Friend with Benefits'. He closed off his heart to love another 150 years ago and will not fall for another again. Sheila over time can no longer let her heart break each time Rafe leaves her bed and so leaves the enclave for a long-term vacation....

After days of not finding Sheila's scent, he approaches the Master Eli and was told of her planned absence. Enraged he goes on a hunt to find the person he adores and bring her home. It's on this hunt he realises his true feelings for her and also finds evil in the form of Pierre (refer to Book 5).

With the help of his new apprentice and some other kin, they must fight evil to save the land and to save each other.

This is not the best review I have ever written but its late and I am tired!! Whilst I thought I enjoyed the Lori/Jonathan and Ben/Shadoe books - this one takes the cake so to speak but now I am wanting to read the stories between Mike/Leandra and Malachi/Kesley... I hope these are not just teasers!

Back when Ellora's Cave was really the only electronic erotic book around, I found Ms. Walker and never looked back. One of the books that was also printed was The Hunters series from Ms. Walker. This series I feel was ahead of the time with paranormal hunters bringing down the "big bad".

I enjoyed this hunters story because some of the background character's are brought into the fore front we also meet Nessa's soulmate for the first time in this book. This story seemed like a big lesson in loss and what people willingly sacrifice for love. Ive been reading all these books so close together and so fast that a lot of them lay out more like a movie with how much they all connect. This doesn't mean u have to read then in order it just makes them better if you do

I read this because the plot hooked me. I was a little worried because it was in the middle of a big series of books, but turns out, it was easy to follow and I really liked it. I'm too far behind to read the whole series as there are a lot of books in the Hunter series but I will eventually read the book about the other two side characters from this story.

It took me a long time to read, but finally I finished.
It was one of the best in the series so far. One of my biggest complain was the fight scene at the end, which was very anticlimactic.
