A much better orchestration book than most. I found the instructional assignments to be really fun and helpful, PLUS it also talks about electronics which most don't.

Good reference book, not conservative which is great. The trouble with reference books like this is that soon examples more specific to personal taste are required to advance development noticeably and the internet is now there for basics such as ranges etc. (bits of information i copy down on an instrument profile sheet anyway before composing). Good. But not worth forty-odd quid.
