The Art of Avoiding Your Alpha

Rate this book
My soulmate bought me a sugar cookie… and now, he's not going to let me go.

He wants a mate bond.

I don't.

He's even more stubborn than I am, though. So, I agree to move in with him, for the sake of putting more emotional distance between us.

But the plan backfires.

And it makes me like him more.

If I can't convince him to walk away, I'm eventually going to have to accept a difficult truth:

I've never met anyone I want to avoid less than him.

This is a steamy, fun, full-length standalone romance with a happily ever after

Lectura simple y optimista, final feliz asegurado. Escaso drama.

Me gustó.

Sweet story! I was not sure how I felt about this book in the first few pages with Ronin but as the story continued he grew on me! I 100% felt the way Tori felt and wish they had more heart to heart understanding each other for a more realistic feel but all in all I enjoyed this easy read! Excited for the next book!!

Borderline the exact same plot as the first one. Like they even used the same strategies to avoid their mate and same reasonings.

Cookie cutter of the first book. I think I'll end the series here. The series was also a cookie cutter of the Mate Hunt series, so much so that in my head I was picturing the same town, houses, people...

Enjoyable enough to listen but not great. A little rinse and repeat off the first book with negative motivation woman and strong willed man determined to make her fall in line. The world building where you meet your mate and then have no choice is not my favorite.

I do like that he hasn't been with a lot of women. And there were some good bits.

I didn't like that this ends without her in love even tho she's committed. It just feels like she was forced into this relationship and is going to make the best of it (which is really the entire story).

A cute & easy read! ✨🐺 I will say I found Ronin to be a bit entitled at first, but he grew on me as the story went. I will say the plot & storyline was similar to the first book, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

✨Paranormal romance
✨Werewolves & Blood wolves
✨Fated mates
✨Reluctant mates
✨Forced proximity

Pretty similar to the first one. Tori was more likable in that one too.

Quick, easy, comfy read. A little heavy on the spice and I would’ve liked a bit more relationship development that a flipped switch, but still fun

"You've always been mine. I just wasn't there to claim you yet."

This story really felt like Tori's moment to tell her truth. The romance between Ronin and Tori was quieter and more rocky than Love and Madd's from book 1, but their HEA was just as sweet. I loved how Tori held her ground in the face of Ronin's alpha attitude. Ronin just wanted his mate's happiness, and he definitely takes his time figuring out how to achieve harmony with Tori. This was a quick and steamy novella, and I look forward to Sienna's book next🖤

Tropes: fated mates, he falls first, alpha hero, reluctant heroine, forced proximity, found family, steamy🔥

2.75/5 stars, listened as an audiobook. Another short, quick read. Same vibes as the first one, but still a fun read.

Maybe if I had waited between reading this one and the previous I wouldn’t be so irked by the blatant copying and similarities. I read to escape too, Lola, but it yanks me out of the happy reading bubble when I feel like I’m reading the same thing over and over. I wanted to love Tori and Ronin’s story more but I just couldn’t find that groove.

If you don't mind that the story is the same as book 1, it was fun 🤷‍♀️but it brings the rating down a little.

This was cute insanely quick read. I feel like there could’ve been more plot, though it was like pure fluff, which is OK sometimes, but literally there was no conflict at all in the story.

Quickish Review

Very easy, very low angst and little worldbuilding being what is strictly necessary. It’s a romance where if you only want it focused on the FMc/MMC with few other characters (basically only future leads), then this may be the read for you.

Another great addition to Lola’s ongoing efforts to draw me into her worlds and she’s doing so well as I’m addicted to every book so far and every character. A fab read full of everything you could want and as always looking forward to the next.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Thought this was a light and easy read. Very little drama in the book, and the drama that is there revolves around the FMC trying to deny her relationship with the MMC.
I said it about the last book that is part of this series and I’ll say it again. I don’t understand why these women are trying so damn hard to avoid a man who wants to protect and spoiler them endlessly. Get over yourself and give in to the relationship.
I like the combination of vampires and wolves and fated mates. Vex is even more possessive than the MMC in the last book and I am here for it. Love a good possessive male … in a book. Major ick in real life.
This book has good spice and gave my brain a break from some more serious books that I’ve been reading. Check it out!
