I've never really had a clue about how the Stock market works. I mean, I've purchased stocks through stock options per my employer and my 401K is making money from the buying and selling of stocks. But I let other people handle it for me because it would be like trying to catch a blue whale with an aquarium net if I tried to do it on my own.

This book made it so easy for me to understand how the stock market works. It provides easy to understand formulas, and explicit instruction that even a total neophyte like myself could figure out. This is definitely not one of those "get rich quick" type of guides to financial independence. This is written by someone who has been in the business a long time and I recommend it to anyone interested in getting into playing the stock market or even a veteran trader looking for fresh insights.

Well, I got as far as page 53, where zero-coupon bonds are repeatedly referred to as "zero-coon" bonds, and I couldn't go on. This was at least the third substantial error that I'd come across; errors that change or obfuscate the meaning of the sentences; not simple typos. It was clear that nobody edited/proofread this book before sending it out for production. I have previously known several writers who also skipped the editing process. I can't imagine what they were thinking.

As for this book, no beginning investor should read it, because you won't know enough about stocks to quickly identify the errors, and you might therefore learn some stock investing concepts incorrectly. Sad and weird that somebody went to all the trouble to write a book, and then rushed past the last step.

A little more advanced than I thought.

I thought this book was more beginner oriented. I was incorrect. If you have a little more understanding of the stock market, this book could be more useful. There were many phrases and concepts the author assumed the reader understood, but which I did not immediately comprehend.

Knowledge to get you started

Really enjoyed the almost step by step walk through of how to trade technicals as well as keeping fundamentals in perspective. Certainly provided more confidence in finding good set ups

Well Written and Highly Informative

This book does give a few formulas to experiment with in your trading, but its real value is the wealth of information about the market as a whole and its very good advice as to how to take advantage of this complex market to your advantage.
