An archeologist finds a new super power and must use it to save the world. Now, if his irritating sidekick would stop distracting him from his duties.
Special K thinks agent Doolittle is the coolest, and sexiest, agent for SPAM (Special Processing and Management). But the others don't see it. It's a good thing Special K is around to help him. He'll save Doolittle while Doolittle saves everyone else.
Code Name Doolittle is part of the multi-author Subpar Superheroes MM Romance series.
My first book was published in 1984 when I was 12. Why are you laughing? Since then I've published 16 books and 2 novellas: two Regencies originally written as Jane Lynson, one paranormal romantic suspense as Paula Christopher and everything else as Lynn Michaels. My husband Michael warned me never to dedicate a book to him, so instead I stole his name for my pseudonym.
Michael and I have 2 grown sons and 1 grandson. We live in Harry Truman's hometown, Independence, Missouri.
This one was really cute. It did follow the spirit of the series, and while I personally don't think talking to animals is as "subpar" as other powers in the series, it was given to someone who was definitely on the subpar side to be a hero. Seeing him grow into his skin (and potential) was nice. I do wish we'd seen a but more of what K and Doolittle decide to do in the end life-wise, but overall I liked it
Henry and Kyler aka Doolittle and Special K were perfect for each other! Doolittle was an archaeologist who got powers and spoke to animals ( many who were dicks ) and one was an analyst who was super smart. It doesn’t look like they would work, but they do. Lynn Michaels does her excellent writing and it all works out. The characters were perfect, the action was intense and the storyline was amazing. Highly Recommended
I had such high hopes for this series as the Subparheroes premise was incredibly original. Unfortunately, I have been disappointed by nearly every book in this series. In this episode, Doolittle was a walking red flag right from the get go. He drank way too much, especially when he was upset, and he really behaved like a jerk in my opinion. Kyler’s behavior at the end of the story was questionable as well. The romance was hard to buy as it really seemed purely sexual but with I love you’s coming out of nowhere. Furthermore, there were numerous continuity and editing issues which pulled me out of the story. Like, why didn’t either of them own cars? They lived in Tampa not NYC. It made no sense for them to constantly be calling for ride shares. Additionally, if Doolittle’s condo tower was so swanky, why wasn’t K stopped by a doorman? He just went right on in. That didn’t make sense either. Overall, this wasn’t particularly terrible of a read, but it wasn’t very good either. Sorry. Just my opinion.
It had potential. Talking to animals is always cool, could've been fun. Instead it went the semi-serious route with Doolittle stuck in a job he didn't want and K with his brother's death. K was the one all in and then the first to throw his toys out of his pram. Dolittle was very Do little, but I did like the alligator, the cat's comment about the parents and the possible future results of the training.

Part of the SUBPAR SUPERHEROES Universe this is a different kind of Book for LYNN MICHAELS. Henry aka Doolittle and Kyler aka Special K are partnered up. These two were a hard case. Of course, Doolittle can communicate with animals, the problem is, they don't seem to like him. But it has changed how I talk to my dog. This was a change for this Author but I enjoyed it. This is a Multi Author standalone series with the common theme being Subpar Heroes. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS SUBPAR SUPERHEROES SERIES!!!!!!!!!!
This was a fun addition to the series. I liked that Henry wasn't born with his ability to speak with animals. Kyler thinks he's just a regular person but finds his way to SPAM and is determined to help others. Together these two uncover a human trafficking ring that was buried in the basement. The plot was fast paced and a little heartbreaking at times. I enjoyed the conversations with the animals.
More SPAM involvement than we’ve seen before in the series. These two went from enemies to lovers very suddenly and quickly. Then a break and back together again just as quickly. I got a little whiplash. The animals were great and the case was good but not completely solved. Not my favorite of the series but I enjoyed the characters.
