Meeting a man who truly gets her has the makings of a GREAT romance. That is, as long as Kristen doesn’t get him killed or arrested before the weekend is up.
Kristen was headed to the biggest payday of her life when she woke up to find herself stranded on some beach in the middle of nowhere. All she has to do is sit tight until her boss can come collect her.
The only problem is her big payday isn’t exactly legal, and Allen, the attractive stranger kind enough to give her a place to stay, might be on to her.
From the author who brought us Crazy Rich China, will Kristen find that some things are better than money or will her past catch up with her in this hilarious new romance?
I may need therapy...I'll write a romance instead.
Bo lives and writes in Louisiana where the heat and mosquitos have traumatized her *just* enough to make her funny. Her hilarious romantic suspense Running from Cupid includes: a cute dog, dead body, and a little spice all in one unputdownable book and it is out now! If you love her books, let her know by leaving a review or tagging her on tiktok.
A mysterious woman awakens in a hospital and crosses path with a doctor determined to uncover her dark past. If you enjoy mysteries, thrillers and romance, then this is worth a read. The story is fast paced and entertaining.
I loved the quirky humor in this! His mother is so unique to say the least. This books very light and easy to read.
The fmc’s water hose scene with his ex was iconiccccc. Truly literary perfection. She deserved that hose and it was so satisfying to read.
What I wanted more of: I will say I wish the “action” parts would’ve been more drawn out. It was like you blink and you’ll miss em. Going deeper into the heist/background and what Calvin’s plans were would’ve really added more to it as well.
I think the spicy scenes had so much more potential. The lead up/tension in certain scenes was soooo good but then it would get interrupted. So then when we do get to the hole in one it pretty much is closed door cause the chapter ends.
3.5 ⭐️

At the beginning of the book, I was very confused. A lot was happening and I didn't understand any of it. The book is written in the third person and I did find that annoying at times because it made it harder to follow whose thoughts in was reading.
In contrast, when I started to understand the story, I really started to like the book! An awful lot happens in this book, so you do have to pay close attention to all the details.
It was exciting, but there were also very funny bits in the book that made me laugh really hard.
All in all, 4 ⭐️
* I read this book in exchange for an honest review *
(3.5*) This is kind of tricky to rate because at times, it felt like revisiting a favorite sitcom—light, fun and familiar—but other times, it kind of dragged and I unfortunately found myself getting distracted and thinking about other things.
Betty, the mom, was hands down the star of the show. I could read an entire book about her dating life with her little puppy sidekick, Milo. There was also scene involving an ex and a hose (iykyk) which was by far one of the funniest things I’ve read in romance.
Overall, I wish Kristen and Allen had a bit more development because their chemistry didn’t fullyyy click with me BUT the few little plot twists we got did have a better reveal than some mystery/thrillers I've read recently. I'll definitely be checking out other books by this author though!
This was such a fun read. I couldn't put it down. I love books that have different perspectives. Our main character Kristen was doing her last job until an unfortunate event occurs. She is sent to a place where she meets the love interest Allen. As the story progresses, we meet Betty, Allen's mother. Allen and Betty have a a weird but loving relationship and it was enjoyable to read. Allen and Kristen relationship, although it felt very love at first sight, had it's moments where it felt rushed and other times it felt like it was going at a good pace. Lastly if I were to describe the end of the book, had a lot going on. Overall, if you love romance this might be a book you want to check out.
I'm not typically a fan of romance, but I loved this book. It was fun, funny, and surprisingly spicy. Mysterious and twisty, it kept me on the edge of my seat. I've read about half a dozen books by this author and have loved every single one of them. Her writing style makes for a good, comfortable read. She's witty and bright and has become my favorite writer.
The plot was not plotting for me. I kept waiting for a twist, I think what was supposed to twist wasn't very surprising. Cute little love story with a happy ending.
First of all, I love the cover! This is a mystery romance. Our main character is Kristen, she meets her love interest a doctor named Allen through an unfortunate accident. You follow them as he has to discover her mysterious past. This book overall has an original and cute idea but could use some finishing touches. I would love to read more in the series though.
Well, we have yet another book review. This book was, unfortunately, quite mediocre. The book had its moments for sure, but overall, it didn’t quite hit the mark for me. It felt really boring, and I was left a little disappointed by the end since one of the smaller plot points was left unaddressed.
That being said, there were things I genuinely enjoyed. I loved its humor, for one. There were some truly hilarious moments that had me laughing out loud. The scene with Allen almost choking on his drumstick after Kristen showed up in her nightgown was so funny, and there was also a particular scene featuring Gwen and a water hose that left me in tears. It’s absolutely diabolical, really. Besides from that, I also loved Betty, very charming lady. I’m starting to actually think I just love older women in books, because there’s no way I ended up loving all of the three ‘older women’ from the latest couple of books I read. (Angela from Autumn in Sycamore Park, Jinny from Trick, and now Betty from Running from Cupid.)
However, there were quite a lot of things I disliked from this book. Firstly, the book dragged. It took about 50% of the book to get past the FIRST day, at which point I was already very bored and losing my patience with the story. It felt like the plot was moving in slow motion. Another issue I noticed was that the book really needed another round of editing. There were typos, grammatical errors, and awkward phrasings that made it hard to stay immersed in the story. And while I usually enjoy well-paced romances, this one leaned too much into insta-love for my liking. It didn’t feel believable, and I wasn’t invested in Kristen and Allen’s relationship. I also felt like it was really hard to get into the story, and the book as a whole left me underwhelmed. Overall, this book had a few fun moments, but the sluggish pacing and lack of polish made it hard to enjoy fully.
Running from Cupid is so cute, if a twisty topsy turvey upside down theif-gone-oops turned romance was the only trope this would easily be at the very top of my list for it lol. Kristen and Allen are both very cute together, both working through their own issues with past relationships whether it’s a romantic, a margarita, or a family relationship. Allen’s mom Betty and her dog Milo sort of… make this book for me though hahaha. If something’s going on BETTY. IS. ON. THE. CASE. To top it off Allen’s got a glass house and Betty has access to his house cameras. 🙃 there’s some brow beater sweating action near the middle end and in the end it pushes everyone who belongs together where they are supposed to be. I quite enjoyed this!!! Highly recommend this one. The plot was a little slow to start but it definitely picked up soon after. It almost felt like I didn’t want it to finish at the end. The MIL Betty got on my nerves a bit with how much she was going through Allen’s business but when she got on HIS BUSINESS when he needed it most? A goddess. She was so great lol. This book never tells you where it’s going to go. There were a few flat spots but overall the book was really good and I enjoyed it a lot.
No, but why do we not find out what the letter says. :( That was so cruel! Anyway, I really enjoyed this book. Usually I’m very good at predicting things which has made most books very boring, but I feel like every time I thought I knew what was going on, it was never correct! This was a really good read and I recommend it to any romance readers who like a good mystery and crime book!
This book was phenomenal!!!!!!! I couldn't put it down and the only reason I had to was because I had kids to take care of! The whole plot was so well done, Betty is my favorite character with her trusty sidekick Milo! This book is written in the third person so that took me a little but to get used to but once I did I didn't even notice! The twist and the cliff hanger left me wanting more!! Please read this book and give this indie author some love!!! 🩷
This is a bod story. Good plot and interesting characters. It has intrigue and moment of laugh out loud humor. Mild on the spicy romance side but overall a good story. I will admit I'm normally not bothered by editing problems but this one had a few recurring typos instead of a period it has a 1/4 sign. That is why I gave it a for star.
This was book is now my favorite. I thought I knew what was going to happen in the last 3 chapters, but I was wrong. The story had me guessing up until the end. Bo Grant did an excellent job with memorable characters and a storyline that hooks you to keep you interested. I enjoyed Running from Cupid and now I must read it again.
3.5 stars. This one dragged a little for me and it was tough to get into but once I was in, I was hooked. But I did feel like there were too many variables and too many things that needed answers and not all of them were resolved which was frustrating to me. However, I did enjoy the overall plot and the dual storyline. The romance was cute and I loved the mom and Milo.
For me, this book too slow and dragged out some of the plot. I really wanted to finish it to get to the real romance and I have to say I wad disappointed. It was Allen resisting Kristen more than wanting het until the very end. There were a couple of plot twists that could have been more substantial. I was a little disappointed with this "romance " novel

I loved how this book kept you guessing on who the character was and why she was hurt in the beginning. And I loved the dog in the book as well. I hope there is a second book to this one to continue the story. I will be rereading this book.
The many grammatical errors, the fact we never know what that letter says, and the choppy structure of the storyline made this unbearable to read. I wish I hadn't finished it. The fact it took me almost 4 full months to read this should be warning enough.
