Larry the lovable monster from the USA Today bestseller Don't Push the Button! is back, and this time, he's full of love!
From the brilliant mind of author and illustrator, Bill Cotter, comes a lovable interactive book for children. Larry the monster has spotted a heart-shaped button. You probably shouldn't push it, but go ahead and do it once. On, no! Larry's turned pink. Push it again. Now Larry's covered in hearts. Next push and the room is filled with heart-shaped balloons. Tap them and make them pop.
Everything's almost back to normal. But what happens if you push it one last time?
Bill Cotter was born in Dallas in 1964, and has labored as an antiquarian book dealer and restorer since 2000. He presently lives in Austin with his girlfriend, the poet Annie La Ganga, and Travis, an inextinguishable roach who divides his time between the shower and the silverware drawer.

Another in the popular series of board books about Larry the purple monster who loves to push the button to see the fun results. These may be considered toy books, but there are no moving parts. They will keep youngest listeners' actively engaged pushing the button picture with the turn of each page.
SPOILER WARNING!!! The first time Larry pushes the button, it turns into heart. The second - changes his color to pink. Further pushes add: red hearts all over his body, tens of pink & red balloons are dropped on him, balloons all pop with confetti in them, cleans it up, "gives reader a hug" turns him back purple. Finally a few pushes, transports Larry to a sunset party of his friends on the beach.
This sweet series by Cotter retains Larry as is, never moving him forward as if having learned something. Sometimes it's fun just to "break the rules", so this one is a good one to try for harmless fun.
While this one implies Valentine's Day with the colors, hearts, and release date, I appreciate that it doesn't directly comment on the holiday. Easy enough for use in a storytime.
