Yes, I came back. Just to see if it can be salvaged. Whilst this was definitely more enjoyable than 26 & 27, splitting these past 3 books isn’t for a lot of us. Whilst I understand the hype around quick succession releases and the excitement it generates on fans of this series. Is it not slightly greedy? All other books have been well priced for the size and before anyone comes at me, no, they aren’t that expensive, but with a series of short ones and crossovers with other books it will absolutely add up. Remember the cost of living blah blah blah. Some of us have been here from the beginning and the change from the writing and marketing style for me is huge.

I always loved the niche way the dystopian theme was nailed. Plenty of bang for your buck. Can we go back to the old days?

Still, this one got 3 stars.

Another fantastic addition to the series but…

Yet again, this is another truly fantastic addition to the Undead Series, but I can’t get over my discontent at the book sizes. Previous books have been >300 pages, but these last 3 have all been <200. I can’t help but feel that Haywood has split one or two books into numerous short stories.

This is detracting from my enjoyment as I get into the storyline, only for it to suddenly end.

A good addition, nice to switch back to some characters that haven't been seen in a while.

Just bloody Mind Blowing!

I have been a very stubborn reader who only sticks to certain authors, afraid to branch out and try anything different for fear of change or disappointment.
I eventually ran out of books and so decided to put my big girl pants on and seek other authors!
RR Haywood, in my opinion is up there with Mr King, infact I have put my new King book on hold to read day 29 and 30!! This is huge !!
I can’t empathise enough how brilliant this author is, not just with the Undead series, with EVERY book he had written which I have ingested greedily in a short space of time! The character developments are phenomenal, you fall in love with the majority and utterly despise the ones who dare question the ‘heroes’ RR Haywood has a beautifully loyal fanbase too who he interacts with on Facebook which is amazing.
Please read all this authors books, you will not regret it!! But it will envelop you and you will become obsessed!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book returns to the events from the previous few days but this time, it's from Lilly's POV.

I was confused by Lilly's character. When she was first introduced she was scared, nervous and frightened but the previous book showed her past and how a therapist thought she was sociopath as she struggled to feel and show emotions.

There were some heavy issues dealt with and it was so sad to learn about what Molly had been through, especially because she has the mental and emotional age of a child.

The pacing was perfect and I was kept engaged throughout the whole book.

The two big plot twists were very good. I wasn't expecting them at all and they really did surprise me.

The ending was gripping and I cannot wait to read the next book

Part 28: George, abortion and Pamela

It's always such a pleasure to dive back into this series! In this instalment, we travelled back to the Fort. When the story takes place here, I always start off wishing we were back with Mr Howie's team. But yet again, I was engrossed.

The twist?! I was SHOOK. I had no idea what was coming, then it just kept going. I was literally staring, open-mouthed. My god. I've actually just started the next instalment and it's back with the team, but I need to know what is going to happen at the Fort!

Side note to self: I have finally figured out the Kindle vs Audible system with the numbering of these books. Kindle Edition 28 is Audible Part 24.

The end!!! Absolutely didn’t see that coming!

As one of RR Haywoods loyal fans I think I speak for all of us in saying please make a television series but don’t Stephen King it! Keep it true to the books, the story line is perfect as is. Keep writing and we’ll keep reading. And just in case Mr Haywood reads this, my golden retriever (Boadicea) would make a great addition, her ‘yeah whatever, it’s cool’ would be hilarious. I can just see her standing in the middle of a melee looking around watching it all happen as Bear/Meredith saves her time and again. Much love

Power plays

Interesting. Shock to suddenly be thrown back to the Fort and be back looking from lilly and georges pov again. Really enjoyed seeing the power plays between them and seeing the combined lilly using her power but also learning some finesse. I also really enjoyed the relationship between lilly and Mary. The scenes at night in the sea with the sea were so well written and you could feel yearning to just let go swim of and be care free eating fish

This is just my opinion.

I have read reviews and comments on the Facebook group but I can honestly say I must of read 3 different books.

I have found the writing style completely off. There are too many references to current real life prejudices. I read to escape real life not have it rubbed in my face in a book.

I am very disappointed in the last 3 releases.

I have from day 1 to day 25 in paperback but I will NOT be buying anymore in paperback.

Disappointed fan 😞

Another enjoyable instalment. It’s gripping and I like the slant it takes delving into the psyche of the main characters.
The characters of the Fort are expanded and I find myself unsure if my previous feelings for them are still the same. It portrays how we can evolve over a short time and maybe become people we would never had been except in dire circumstances.
So disappointed to have finished another book. I’m trying to make them last but not doing very well

Brilliant

These books just get better and better. They do have to be the best out of all the zombie apocalypse I have read.
They stick in your head and you find yourself getting excited about picking the book up again to read more.
These aren’t just about zombies and killing. This story goes way deeper than that. So much more I just can’t wait for the next instalment.

I thought we had passed my tolerance for the stupid when zombified 100 year olds did kamikaze runs in Spitfires, but the reveal of Polina, and the retcon involved, made me wish I had a physical copy so that I could get my teeth into the damn thing to tear it apart into little pieces.

Looking forward to the next part 😁

I can't get enough of this series!!

I can't get enough of this series!! I love RR Haywoods writng style, he really is like no other for creating engaging characters and emotional rollercoasters. Until The Undead and the extracted series' I never thought I could be so wholly invested in a story.
No spoilers but... the twists... holy freakin' hell!!

Another enthralling instalment. As has been said often, these books are something special, shimmering into life when the battles arrive.
With this book comes a return to the fort and a return to other less familiar but loved characters, which is genuinely enjoyable to start reading about them once again. Faultless fiction.

Another thrilling instalment of The Undead. It cleverly dove-tails with previous storylines and then leaves you open mouthed with the final sentence! We need more!

RR Haywood is back to his best !!! After a slightly disappointing twenty seven this is simply a joy to read. Characters we have not met for a while are all here and bigger and badder than ever. Some questions resolved, some more added and what a fantastic ending. Highly recommended, can't wait for twenty nine ( and many more ).
