How to Fail at Annoying an Alpha Fae

Rate this book
This is not your normal arranged marriage story.

Omega Melina always dreamed of having a real, heart squeezing love but it seemed to constantly escape her. So, when she, and several other fae, are forced into treaty marriages to members of her former enemy nation, it was just another kick in the gut. Marry another fae from the brutal nation that kidnapped her? Absolutely not. Not to mention the terrifying rumor that her future husband is a cold-blooded murderer of his ex-lover.

When she meets her husband, he’s not who she thought he would be and Melina begins to wonder if the rumors about him were true. That is, until her new husband, Aaron, lets her know that he could never fall in love with her. Crushed, Melina focuses on a new find a way out of this farce of a marriage no matter what.

Alpha Aaron had a hard fall from grace after being labeled a traitor to his kind and imprisoned. To redeem himself, he was selected to marry and seduce his new bride, Melina, to help his kind get power in the new order. Willing to serve his penance, he accepts his fate with his own caveat, that he cannot fall in love. Tormented by actions from his past, he closes his heart as punishment. Only, he begins to fall for his lovely bride, despite her futile trickery to get him to leave her.

While the pair fight their desires for each other, they must also protect themselves from mysterious creatures attacking and killing other fae forced into the treaty marriages.

Can they overcome their stubbornness and find love with each other or will their marriage also lead to a gruesome demise?

Melina was confident, independent, and a dreamer. Her childish pranks were funny, if rather ineffective at getting rid of Aaron. Although I understood her railing against the powers that be in her own way, she was pretty naive about it all. She was sweet and had genuinely cared for the people around her. Aaron was intense but kind, and had abysmal self esteem with a love of self-flagellation. I liked seeing him open up to Melina and working through some of his trauma. I liked that he helped her fully accept her scars. I’m a little disappointed in the ending, and agree with another review who stated there was a missed opportunity for character growth in Aaron, although I did like seeing Melina truly come into her own.

Spice: 4/5

Triggers: Violence, Dubious Initial Consent, Causing the accidental death of a friend (not shown on the pages), Brief Discussion of Abuse (not of main characters)

I will say, I read the other book by the author title How to Fail at avoiding an Alpha Demon but not the 3 book series (I believe it’s called Love and Bonds) that this book comes after. It did not hurt me to not have read that series but I can see how I could’ve benefitted from some of the knowledge we gathered in that series.

Our FMC and MMC are placed in an arranged marriage by their 2 opposing countries that have been at war for some time. This is part on some program the governments created in an attempt to repair relations. Other couples have been placed in a similar arrangement prior and those marriages are ending in deaths. They are believed to be targeted by outside groups who oppose these marriages

The MMC is resigned to the marriage and does not seem to mind it, but he’s adamant about not falling in love. The FMC is completely opposed, only going through with it to protect her family. She is determined the break them up because she wants to find true love. Her attempts to anger her new husband has me laughing so hard. His patience melted my heart.

Cute book, I’ll definitely be going back to read the other series as well.

Let me start by saying that while this book can be read as a standalone, it’s definitely better for having read the full Love & Bonds trilogy first. There were lots of things that happened in those first three books that set the stage for everything in this one. I loved Melina and Aaron. They’re both stubborn and strong-willed, but the author shows us exactly why they’re behaving like that. I adored watching them fall in love and find healing in that connection. I’m not sure exactly where the author’s taking us next, but I’m glad to know that this wasn’t our last trip through this world.
I received a complimentary advance copy of this book from the author.

This book was about omega Melina and her arranged marriage to alpha Aaron and made me feel all the feelings. My favorite part was Melina and Aaron fighting their attraction to each other. My favorite character was Melina because she’s trying to find a way out of her situation because Aaron told her he can’t love her. I recommend this book for people who love Omegaverse, arranged marriages, paranormal romance.

Gleeful Goblin Review: Something I really appreciated about this book and this author's work in general tbh, is the effortless representation of relationships and attraction. When we're being introduced to our FMC and she's having a discussion about her fiance via arranged marriage she's doing so with characters that we as the reader get to know are part of a relationship with her as the sole woman with three other men but only two of those men are in an intimate relationship with her as well as each other. The other man is a close and valued friend and brother in arms who is in a relationship with the woman but neither of the other two men. Even though I'm pretty firmly monogamous I really appreciate seeing nuanced and casually accepted relationships being represented!

I should also note that while I don't tend to read much in the way of Fae romance nor Omegaverse style dynamics, honestly I couldn't resist with this author. I've read other works and every single one has been so much fun for me to read I rolled the dice on this one too and I am SO glad I did. The way the author describes Fae politics from the different factions as well as the alpha/beta/omega dynamics in relationships made for a pretty intricate backdrop to this arranged marriage plus "bet I can make you leave me" vibes. Both characters are highly suspicious of each other as individuals as well as their respective factions for why the other person was put forward as tantamount to a sacrificial lamb on the altar of political marriage. It's fair to say that both characters have suffered a fair amount of loss and pain in their lives as well as both having been unlucky in love. I really connected with our FMC Melina though because she has this bone deep need to be loved and give love in return but every time shes tried in the past, she's given her heart to the wrong person and been lied to, cheated on, etc. so of course she's trying to keep herself safe and her new husband far from her heart. But of course, that's not gonna fly in this love set to spin cycle romance. There's definitely an HEA at the end of things but the path to it will be anything but smooth and will have several...surprises along the way. 5/5 Stars

There was a lot that I liked about this book… but there were some things that I’m not sure how I feel about. I finished this about a week, a week and a half ago, and I’m still not over it.

There are two separate groups of fae at war. Both sovereignties decided that the best way to end this war would be to have some arranged marriages. They’ve paired alphas with omegas to unite the two factions. This is where we meet Melina and Aaron. They don’t love the idea of an arranged marriage, but they hate the idea of the consequences even less.

Melina has her reasons for not wanting this marriage, and they are very valid. She pulls what they both deem to be childish pranks to get Aaron to leave her. But instead, it has the opposite effect. He finds her pranks to be adorable and hilarious. They get to know each other through these pranks. They both “suffer” the effects of being an alpha and an omega together, and they learn that they both deserve love and to be loved. Obviously, there is some conflict, and quite honestly, it’s more of a danger than conflict. Everything worked out in the end, but man, it was rough.

I adored the main characters. They are likable and relatable characters. I completely understood why they were the way they were. Aaron almost broke me. People from his town made him feel he didn’t deserve love because of past mistakes. I appreciated watching them get to know each other and the scene Aaron has with his mom. That was absolutely beautiful. I didn’t love the ending, though. It’s a personal preference, but it felt like they had just been through too much for the story to end that way…, especially for Aaron.

This is a part of the Love and Bonds Universe. (Admittedly, I haven’t finished Love and Bonds, although I plan on doing so.) The title is initially why I went for this book. The cover is stunning, and I plan on continuing to read more from this world. The trilogy and other books from this universe are available on Kindle Unlimited.

Melina and Aaron are two fae from warring factions who are forced into an arranged marriage once the war ends, in an effort to bring peace to their people. Melina is an omega who just wants to find love, and an arranged marriage puts an end to that dream, or so she thinks. Aaron is an alpha and a soldier, a man who doesn't believe he deserves love. Will they be able to come together and find happiness while trying to stay alive? After all, something is killing the couples that are joined in these arranged marriages, and the clock is ticking.
Let me start by saying that I did really enjoy the beginning of the book, all the banter and the harmless pranks. Melina tried very hard to annoy Aaron enough that he would agree to divorce her. What did he expect when he began their relationship by telling her point blank that he could never love her?
Once Melina started to warm up to Aaron, he refused to believe that he was worthy of her love, no matter how much she showed him otherwise. It seemed to take up a lot of the book, and caused a lot of misunderstandings. The miscommunication trope always frustrates me. Why don't the characters ever just talk to each other??
Once they did finally get their feelings sorted out, they were fighting for their lives, and then it was all back to square one. I found myself feeling very irritated with Aaron over it, even though I could understand why he felt that way. The end of the book didn't really improve my feelings on that. He felt unlovable as he was, and nothing Melina said or did swayed him from that notion. It was the beginning all over again, but with more self-loathing for plot reasons. The way it was all resolved left me feeling pretty disappointed. To me, it felt like there was an opportunity for character development that was overlooked. That could very well just be that I had expectations going into it that weren't fulfilled. It's a different style choice, and that's okay, it just wasn't for me.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/ 🌶️🌶️🌶️

I don’t know if I have ever read an arranged marriage trope before. Marriage of convenience, yes, but I can’t recall an arranged marriage storyline. I wasn’t too sure how I felt about this specific practice, but Liz wrote a book that I enjoyed reading as a whole.

Being an omega, Melina wants a relationship filled with love. Putting her people first and agreeing to an arranged marriage, she selflessly gives up on that dream. Aaron, being an alpha and a mighty soldier, believes he is unworthy of love, but also agrees to the arranged marriage for the betterment of his people. There’s also one teenier, tiny problem. Something or someone is killing couples that their marriage has been arranged.

Melina slowly begins to get closer to Aaron, who pushes her away because of his belief he isn’t worth loving. This desire from her and him shutting her down caused for some miscommunications. This was hard to read, especially after Melina tried to get Aaron to divorce her in the beginning. I was glad to see Aaron not push her away, in that capacity. But to continue to push her away in other ways, was hard to read about. I just wanted them both to be happy and knew they could be that for each other.

Overall, I was satisfied with how Liz wrote the story line and ended the book. Was it how I imagined this book when I first picked it up? Absolutely not. Was it still a good read that I enjoyed? Absolutely! I will definitely read more of Liz’s books as I did enjoy her writing. In reading other reviews, many said it isn’t vital to read the other books in this series, but it does provide some more background. I will definitely be reading the earlier books.

As always review trigger warnings before reading.

Liz Cooper goes back to the world of the fae in the fourth Love and Bonds book, How to Fail at Annoying and Alpha Fae. This omegaverse romancey is an enemies-to-lovers with an arranged marriage, forced proximity, prank wars, playful flirting, and mysterious deaths, it was so freaking good.

Melina is hilarious and has a whole bunch of sass, I liked her a lot. Behind that cold mask that Aaron wears, he's actually playful and sweet, especially with Melina. Aaron is such a good guy but he doesn't believe he deserves love and Melina only wishes for true love, talk about angst. They are on opposite ends of the spectrum, their situation sucks, and I feel for both of them. As the story progresses (and Aaron's stubborn nature gets whittled down) a bond starts to develop fairly quickly that's when we get all the omegaverse goodness, ruts, heats, alpha commands, and more, I loved it. They make a great pair and the steam between them is hot.

Besides all the relationship drama there are a couple of little subplots going on. The Prinathians and Nodoorians are playing at being frenemies with these arranged marriages it was interesting seeing how both sides handle the situation. The mystery surrounding the attacks while not the main attraction was good. The scene with the queen was really intriguing and I would love to know more about her.

Towards the end Liz had me nervous, I was terrified about how it was gonna end but Liz pulled through. How to Fail at Annoying an Alpha Fae was a cute omegaverse read. With every book I read, I love this series more and more.

3.00 Stars. (BW/BM). Kindle Edition $3.99/ 281 page e-book.

Setting: Futuristic fantasiful world of the Fae.

Trope: Forced marriage of convenience.

Characters:
1. Fae Omega Melina, heroine, is a dark brown skinned, red eyed, blue haired high born Prinathian Fae.
2. Fae Alpha Aaron, hero, is a golden brown Nodoorian elite upper class warrior who has fallen from grace and is regarded as a traitor by his people.
3. Ivan is Aaron's best friend and a Lieutenant in the Nodoorian Army.
4. Frena is Aaron's ex-fiancee and person who spread false rumors about Aaron's murderous acts.
5. & 6. Yosef and Lila respectively are Melina's Fae Alpha cousin and his human ice mage mate.
7. Lucian is a Nodoorian that helped Melina escape captivity and still has a crush on her.
8, 9. & 10. Socent, Oran & Eben are the beings responsible for Aaron morphing into a monster and the killing of other mixed race couples in this story.

Although slow in revelation, the world building in this story is slow. The being banter and antics between Aaron and Melina is refreshing and cute. The story's pacing slowed and became boring because Aaron persisted in resisting his growing love for Melina coupled with Melina guarding her feelings for Aaron due to her insecurities. It took awhile for the the resolution of the conflict with those adverse to the mating of Prinathians and Nodoorians and with the romance and mating of Aaron and Melina. All in all, it is a good read. I will probably read the next story if it's Ivan's.

Although it isn't necessary to read the Love and Bonds series to enjoy this story I think Lila's story in that series does provide a good background to this story.
To help seal peace between the Prinaths and the Nodoors in the Fae realm a treaty has been drawn up in which couples will be matched in arranged marriages to mix the two species of fae. Melina is not happy at being chosen and when she meets her new husband he tells her he can never be open to loving her due to secrets in his past. This sparks anger in Melina as all she would want within a marriage is to love and be loved in return. So she hatches a plan, if she can annoy her Alpha fae husband enough maybe he will want to dissolve the marriage and then she can be free. Let the pranks commence!
I have quickly become addicted to the Love and Bonds series and these spin off stories. I love the authors style of writing and her strong, sassy female leads and possessive, protective male leading characters. Melina won my heart in this, she was determined to get out of the marriage but once Aaron opened up to her there was no way she was giving up on him.
There was just the right amount of angst and a mystery/danger plot woven into the story to make this an emotional and exciting story. I loved it!

How To Fail At Annoying An Alpha Fae: An Omegaverse Paranormal Romance (Love And Bonds) by Liz Cooper is a sweet and humorous fantasy romance. Melina and Aaron are forced into an arranged marriage.  Aaron is willing to make it work but is unable to give Melina the one thing she wants….love.

I really enjoyed this story.  Both characters are very different from what either expected. Melina is smart, funny, and determined.  Aaron wears a mask pretending to be cold and indifferent when he really is kind and caring.  I had plenty of laughs imagining all the pranks Melima pulled, trying to escape their marriage. There was action and excitement as they fought  not only each other about their marriage but also strange creatures. There were definitely some sad parts when I reflected on how in the past marriages were destroyed due to hate from those that didn't want to see people together that were different due to race, ethnicity, or other superficial factors. I also felt for Aaron, who was raised to do everything for his people and never considered his own wants and desires.
If you enjoy omegaverse fantasy romances, you'll enjoy this. It also has action, bonding, magic, humor, and plenty of spice.

This was my first arc and let me be honest I really enjoyed it. For one the author is great at keeping you entertained not only with plot development but character development as well. I love this series by the author and haven’t really had anything like her since my Wattpad days!! If you like period pieces + the alpha and omega trope this is for you. I enjoyed the book because not only does Melina look like me, I identify with her in a lot of ways. And then there was Aaron *insert dreamy sigh here* he’s definitely in my top five of sweetest book boyfriends. The banter between him and Melina is not only spicy but also funny. It’s nice taking the ride with the characters not only as the discover themselves but their relationship between one another. Babes let me just tell you ; once they get to know one another it does get quite.. messy ;). I love Liz’s writing style because just as you get comfortable she introduces a little drama and mystery which I love because it’s never predictable which keeps me wanting more from this author. I hope she continues to explore this side of her writing and we get more from the characters of this series from her.

How to Fail at Annoying an Alpha Fae by Liz E. Cooper is part of the Love and Bonds Series. I was initially drawn to this book by the title alone but when I read the blurb that is what sealed the deal for me. This has some of my favorite tropes… enemies to lovers, forced proximity plus an arranged marriage so needless to say I flew through this book. I loved these characters as they aren’t what they seem at all. Melina is so funny and I highly enjoyed how sassy she was…. Aaron I thought was a sweetheart once you got past his stubbornness. It broke my heart how he believed he didn’t deserve love. Both of them each needing different things; the angst was real. Even more so them each having emotional trauma to work through. But I still thought that they would be perfect for each other. I really enjoyed myself while reading this book. My favorite thing about this book had to be the flirting; it was awesome. Liz E. Cooper did a great job with it, I thought it was written well with such an addicting plot that I couldn’t read the chapters fast enough. Would definitely recommend checking out this book because it’s a great read.

One Bed (he makes it this way by refusing to allow her to sleep elsewhere)
Angst
Swoon worthy male

Aaron and Melina are chosen by their leadership to join in an arranged marriage. The successful mixing of their two people is hoping to lead to continued peace in the future. Obviously there are people on both sides who would rather murder than see that happen.

Both Aaron and Melina have deep emotional trauma to contend with. Melina wants to move and be loved by continuously gets her heart broken. She has scars that she covers up with her glamour magic. She thought by doing that it would prevent her from getting her heart broken, but alas that wasn’t the case. Aaron doesn’t believe he is worthy of love because of the things he’s done. I love how she shows him he is worthy of love and he shows her even with her scars she is beautiful. They are literally perfect for one another and their story just shows that truth.

There is drama, suspense, and mystery in this book. I couldn’t put it down and loved it! I can’t wait to read more from this author…. There’s a few characters I definitely want the story to!!!

If the title didn’t get you, you won’t have to read too far to sucked in. This quirky series delivers a whole lot of humor with high doses heat wrapped in the precious moments that can make your eyes sweat.

Melina is a successful business owner and omega. She also happens to be unclaimed and Prinathian, winners of an ugly war in the fae realm. Melina is determined to marry for love, not politics or money, but her king and queen have other plans.

Aaron, the dour Nodoorian, knows he needs something to change. He’s considered a disgrace amongst his people. The Nodoorian loss in the war will not help him regain any reputation of standing.

The proclamation that Aaron will move to Prinath to marry one of their females comes as a chance to start over. He has a mission for his people, but more importantly, Aaron feels he can do some good.

Until Melina. This fiery Prinathian omega wants nothing of an arranged, loveless match. Aaron must survive her countless attempts to annoy him or worse, until a few conversations and a bit of taking a chance changes the game.

The title "How to Fail at Annoying an Alpha Fae" is a mouthful, but it does fit the storyline of this paranormal omegaverse perfectly. This spin-off series of the "Love and Bonds" series is made of standalone MF stories, which are a mix of cute and fun with a touch of suspense as the cherry on top. Relationship building is a major part of the storyline, and I like the connection Melina and Aaron form in this one. They both have different feelings about the arranged marriage they enter with each other, and I enjoyed Melina's way of trying to convince Aaron to leave the marriage by annoying him until he would leave.

In some ways, the flow of this storyline is quite predictable and exactly what you might be looking for as a palate cleanser or a romance story to read on a holiday. Except there are one or two twists along the way I absolutely didn't expect and added something to the story for me. While it isn't necessary to have read the Love and Bonds series, or the first standalone in this spin-off series, I have to say the author manages a pretty consistent atmosphere in all of her books. So, if you like one, you can be quite sure you'll like them all.

Well the war between the Unseelie Fae Realm, the Prinaths had settle the war with the Nodoors. In an effort to secure the peace, there were a few terms implemented. One of those terms happened to be that a selected number of Prinathians and Nodoorians had to marry. Thus hoping that as they intermingled, there would be no division. Well of course, and who was one of the selected few thought Melina it just happened to be her. Tomorrow was to be her wedding day with a Nodoorian that she had never met. Not even seen a picture of but the rumors about him even if half true!! She did not know what to do and then she got this idea. If it worked, then she would be free to go her own way well as they say the best laid plans of mice and men. Is there truth in that love can transform a person? Who are the people trying to destroy the peace treaty? Get your copy of this book and settle in to a kind of a “Taming of the Shew”story but who was being tamed?

SYNOPSIS: Melina and Aaron are forced into an arranged marriage by their governments as terms of a peace treaty. Due to both being affected in different ways from the war that just ended between their factions, they have apprehension towards the relationship. All Melina wants from a marriage is love and that is the one thing Aaron swears he cannot give her.

REVIEW: I did receive a copy of this book for free from the author. The first couple of chapters were very exposition-heavy and I’m assuming tie back to the first book of the series which I did not read. Once you get past that, the book picks up quite a bit and is a relatively easy read. I’m personally not very into the a/b/o genre, but I thought this book handled it well and all spicy scenes were consensual. The book ramps up the spiciness A LOT towards the end. I enjoyed the pet names and playful annoyances of the two leads.

Overall Rating: 3.5/5 Spiciness: 4.5/5

This book had it all!! I read a little out of order, obviously, because I learned that this book is number 4 in a series that I now need to read!!! Anyway, luckily for me, this was a standalone!!
But back to how much I enjoyed this book!!
This book had enemies to lovers and a forced arranged marriage!!! Might sound dark but totally not!!! It was actually sweet and very entertaining!!!
The FMC and thr MMC are each from a different Fae country and after the war between the 2 cou tries are over, the Elders think it's a good idea to arrange marriages between certain couples to combine the 2 and become one
Ok, sounds good... except for the fact that everyone still hates everyone because of the war and what each side did to their own! Well, bring in the main characters and not only does she hate her new husband's but she is so determined to annoy him so much that he will anull the marriage! And she comes up with some pretty funny ways to annoy him... yet he still stays and is actually amused by her attempts! It's actually bringing them closer(gasp)!
As they start to see eye to eye and maybe can atleasr be friendly with each ither6until the marriage is over the other couples also with forced marriages are starting to dissappear and turn up dead!!! OMG!!! And now the main characters are next!!! Is it someone who hates both factions, or is it someone from their own that doesn't agree with the treaty?? Mystery and love are what this fantastic book is about, and I absolutely loved every second!!! Will definitely be reading this authors other books!!

How to Fail at Annoying an Alpha Fae - Powerful 🐈

‘He dropped to his knees, face tilted up to me. “I’m fine, Rabbit. You don’t need to worry about whether I can handle your heat.” He opened his arms with a slight smile. “Come to me.” Ugh, he knew how to be an alpha, but he also knew how to be gentle. It was a beautiful blend that made me love him more. His voice was softer than before. At this point, I was surprised he hadn’t used his alpha voice. He was always so careful of me, even when he gave orders. Something about that thought squeezed my heart and tightened my core.’

Liz E. Cooper has written a sweet and sexy sequel in her Love and Bonds series. Melina is being forced to marry the enemy! The people who kidnapped her and others, but now have a truce.

Aaron finds he is very attracted to his matched mate, as part of the political power play happening after their war loss. Crushed that he couldn’t help sooner, he feels deep guilt and regret, which he believes makes him unlovable.

Melina is very creative, and as she sets her sights on initially pushing him away, she finds that she is so drawn towards Aaron that her plans to get away from him are changing. Thus, a love story is created!

Melina and Aaron are both forced into an arranged marriage as part of a peace treaty between their realms. Melina is so angry that she is being forced into a relationship that she doesn't want that she decides that she will find a way to get out of the marriage so that she can escape and live life on her own terms. She wants a relationship built on love not duty and she is willing to do whatever necessary to deter her soon to be husband from wanting to stay married to her.

Aaron has decided to work towards making his arranged marriage work. Dealing with demons from his past; he feels that he is unworthy of love nor is he capable of giving love. He has a plan to seduce his new wife and fulfill his duty to his realm. Aaron realizes he is entering enemy territory with both realms trying to fix the bad blood between them.

This story was funny and heartwarming. Melina and Aaron were not prepared for the feelings and emotions they brought out of each other. Melina literally pranked Aaron everyday hoping it would annoy him enough to seek a divorce, but her plan backfired when her antics made Aaron want and desire Melina more.

The more time Aaron and Melina spend together; the more they begin to understand one another. When other arranged couples are turning up dead both Melina and Aaron know that something is lurking in the shadows waiting to destroy them and they are ill prepared to fight it unless they can find common ground.

This story gave me all the feels: Humor, Friendship, Love, Action, Spice. Melina and Aaron were actually a perfect match. It just took them a while to realize it because of their difference in opinion regarding their arranged marriage.

Aaron and Melina are forced into an arranged marriage as part of a peace treaty between their realms in an effort to strengthen the bond between them.

Milena is desperate to live a life full of true love so when Aaron approaches the marriage as a nice loveless partnership her plan is to irritate him into wanting to dissolve the marriage! Which doesn't quite work out how she was hoping, bringing them much closer than either were expecting!

Loved how these characters developed and evolved, how Aaron overcomes his feelings of being undeserving of love and how Milena never gives up.

Great story, looking forward to reading more from Liz E Cooper

Cute and dirty

Really enjoyed this book. If you are looking for a palette cleanser after some darker Omegaverse this is definitely the book for you. It is a standalone, but to understand the Fae world a little more reading the previous books would help. On faction of Fae loses the war with another. Marriages between the two groups are required to help maintain peace. There are two independent Fae, one alpha and one omega who are forced to marry. It was cute premise, the FMC (the omega) tries to annoy the mess out of the alpha she didn’t want to marry….heats, rutting, slick, and some great smutty/spicy scenes along with some really good dirty talking, got me ready for the next in the series!!!

Two opposing factions have been at war and now they are not. The plan to start bringing peace to the realm is to wed couples from opposing factions.

Melina and Aaron are chosen as one of the couples. Aaron isn't thrilled about this, but he wants to try to make it work. Melina is convinced if she annoys Aaron enough, he will ask for a divorce. The more she tries, the more she fails… then she begins to see a whole different side of him. They both have traumatic pasts and are haunted by the memories. Their self worth is very low. If they could see what the other sees… Their chemistry!! It is combustible!

I love the suspense and their quests together. Melina and Aaron's journey is gorgeous and I am so glad I was able to walk it with them. ❤️

I have really been enjoying the How to Fail at Annoying an Alpha X series! The first How to Fail at Annoying an Alpha Demon was one of my favorite reads this year, so I was really excited for this Fae one. I can happily say this one was just as addicting as the first! Melina and Aaron were pure fire! It may have started as an ember when they first met given the arranged marriage and Aaron's unwillingness for love, but that spark quickly grew, and in the end, the romance was off the charts! While of course the romance is a high point for me, there is a lot of continued world building, connections to the other books and this ever expanding universe as readers learn more about these arranged marriages. I am very excited for How to Fail at Escaping an Alpha Orc!
