Brilantne spracovaná kniha nevšedných otázok a odpovedí, ktoré overili prvotriedni odborníci z Cambridgeskej univerzity.
Hlúpe, pochabé a zbytočné otázky neexistujú. Teda existujú, no len vtedy, ak slová v nich nedávajú zmysel.
Jan 2025: There's No Such Thing As A Silly Question
This big book is made especially for curious children, who always ask questions. Sometimes their questions amaze us, we wonder how their brain work.
The book starts with the first question:
✨️Can I ask a SILLY QUESTION? Answer: Yes, but avoid asking when the words in it don't make sense. This book exposes the kids to come out with valid questions.
Other questions that I think as interesting and potentially asked by my kids:
✨️Why do grown-ups like tea and coffee so much? ✨️Why can't all medicine be delicious? ✨️Do other animals pick their noses? ✨️Are unicorns real?
And my favourite question:
✨️How can I know everything in the whole world? Answer: the more you know, the more you are aware that you don't know. (Yeah kids, my knowledge is limited but I'll come back to your questions soon)
The answers given refer to Science, in simple sentences and are interesting for kids. Great points to stem a discussion from several aspects such as religion, ethics, local practice etc.
I was expecting a List of questions by subject in the table of contents, but I guess a curious child just wants to read away. Interestingly, subjects such as Politics are also included. The index and glossary at the end of the book are helpful too.
Suggestions are also given on how to read these 213 weird questions, and readers can also be creative by starting a reading game with their siblings and friends.
Thank you #Pansing for this copy. This book is available at all good bookstores.
There's No Such Thing As A Silly Question has 213 interesting questions expertly answered and fact-checked: What are dreams for? Why don't insects bleed when they're splatted? Why aren't all months the same length? Why aren't brown, grey or black in the rainbow? 🤔
The answers are humorous, easy for children to understand and will leave readers feeling enlightened. I like this one: Why is pink for girls and blue for boys? Answer: They aren't...The idea that pink was for girls and blue for boys began in around 1900 as a way for shops to sell more clothes. Babies are born with no preference, but from birth we give them countless items that create these links from a young age 😉
And this: Why aren't bananas straight? Answer: Bananas live by their own rules. Other fruits might be happy enough being boringly straight or unexcitingly round, but bananas go for a best-of-both-worlds approach...Bananas are 'negatively geotropic'. This means they grow away from gravity and towards the sun 🍌
This hardback book is such a gem. The questions posed are fun and will set you thinking. Plus, the illustrations are gorgeous! I reckon it's great for those 9 years and older 😊 Thank you @definitelybookskids for sending this to us. My tween & teen are enjoying this too - fun facts are for everyone 😉
