Shirley Holmes and Janie Watson are back on their detective adventures, this time with a much more dangerous case.
When famed romance author Camille Dekker comes to Vienna, Virginia, to hide from her stalker, it's up to these two detectives to find out who is after her and stop them. As they unravel the clues and follow the leads, they soon discover that this is the biggest case they have ever taken on.
Before they can catch the stalker, Camille has gone missing. With time running out, they must use their detective skills to find the culprit before it's too late.
I started my journey as a reader but quickly learned how much I enjoyed everything about romance, so I picked up the pen in 2017 and haven't looked back. Writing various genres, paranormal romance is my go-to. However, I do have a few mysteries and contemporary romances under my belt.
My favorite books involve characters that aren't perfect and have room to grow or a good mystery you can't easily solve. With each new book, I keep this in mind and enjoy creating complex worlds where my characters take the stage.
When I am not creating fantastic new worlds for my readers to get lost in, I enjoy spending time with my husband and my two rescue dogs, Sammie and Jake.

Overall, this was a bit better story than the first one. However, it was a little bit predictable given how the whole story starts out with the birth of the two mothers. I like the little side romance that we get with Shirley and Kyle. Oh and don't forget the possible developing romance between Janie and the Chief **wink wink**
3 1/2 out of 5 stars Shirley and Janie are back on their next case. When Camille Dekker gets eerie messages form a man who says he is her long lost son. She and her son head to Vienna Virginia to hide from him. She contacts Shirley and Janie to find out who this man is and stop him . But when Camille goes missing it is going to take all of their detective skills to figure out where she is and get her back to her son before it is too late. Shirley and Janie are back and working harder than ever. Shirley is one busy girl she is trying to get a wedding planned and trying to solve the abduction case . Both girls are sweet but also ready to kick some butt when they have to. They balance work and home life quite well and they really like to be around each other and helping each other out. We also get to see Janie find love and starting a relationship with the very cute chief of Police. Each character is well written and they all fit together. This was one of those books that you can read in an evening . The characters are well written and I really like them . The author expanded the book abit more adding more of their home life . I wished that author added more of them working on the case , a bit less of the wedding prep. I feel like it kind of fell flat in that area. Over all I did enjoy the book and will read more from this author. So if you want a fun read check it out. It is a good rainy day read.
The Case of the Missing Author is a well written mystery full of mystery, stalker, friendship, family and romance. The storyline flows easily and entices the reader to keep turning the pages. This book has all the feels as well as well written characters. Even secondary characters are fully fleshed and give great weight to the story. We get to see a little about the inner workings of an author's mind while writing. Janie and Shirley are totally involved in the stalking case and are there until the end. We see their working relationship, family life and their process for their detective agency. This kept me enthralled and I was able to finish it in a timely manner. I how this author kept the book moving it does not disappoint.
This book is going to grab you and keep you reading from the moment that you start reading it. You will be glued to the story and unable to put it down. The book moves along at a pace that is perfect for the way the story unfolds, making for an easy and enjoyable read. These characters are so real that you feel as though you know them and you feel as though you are actually there and a part of their story. You will not be disappointed by this book and it needs to be read.
Shirley and Janie have been getting more clients since they saved the children that Brock had kidnapped. They now asked to help with another case. Camille is an author who, unfortunately, has a stalker. She's frightened and decides to come to Virginia, hoping to be out of their radar. As the case progresses, she is kidnapped. With the stakes higher now, will Shirley and Janie, along with the police, find her in time?
this was a cute read , at times was a tad slow, but after around chptr 7.... it became an even more fun and sweet read.. I Like how Shirley gets her dream fulfilled as Janie reaches out to find love ... with the local, very handsome Chief of police........... However the missing Author moments were a bit tame, yet scary.. ALL worked out well and is a good read..
A blend of drama, suspense, and sweet romance. I enjoyed the bit with Kyle and Shirley’s relationship and their beautiful romance.
This book was another thrilling case with multiple POVs to see all the various perspectives. I would’ve loved to see more detective work and solving the case.
The case itself was interesting but it was overshadowed by so many other events that I felt were unnecessary. I appreciate the developing relationships in Shirley and Janie's life but the bedroom scenes didn't add to the story and I didn't understand Zane's parents side story. The opening chapter held such promise -just wish there was more substance to "the missing author" plot.
Love reading this authors work. The storyline keeps you captivated so you won’t be able to put it down until you finish it. The characters are easy to relate to making you want to meet over coffee/tea just to discuss the case. Another great read and page turner by this author.
I love Holmes and Watson stories and this twist on the main characters is great. This tale is a well paced read with interesting plot twists, well described characters and locations. Not a book to put down easily so set aside some time to enjoy.
An easy read that kept me turning the pages. Love the adventures of these two ladies and all they do. While there were a few parts that slowed down the story, it didn't bother me at all. Ms. Hall is a wonderful author who knows how to keep her readers engaged!!
I'm in love with this series, the stories are short ( to me, lol) and easy to read, with a good pace, a bit of romance and a lot of who dun it. Looking forward for more books in this series
