This book was very helpful up to a point. Explaining AI and the innumerable versions and apps is very helpful. The actual solutions for implementing AI in the classroom are weak. The focus on training students for the workplace circumvents the whole problem that the purpose of writing the essay is to learn to think, and AI tempts students away from that process. She does mention this once, but she offers weak solutions for ensuring that the process happens. I’m starting “more than words” by John Warner now.
I still have a lot of concerns around AI, but this book was very helpful at looking at generative AI and it's potential uses in teaching and planning work.
