I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Irished by Heather Slade is the seventh book in The Invincibles series. It served as my introduction to the series. I accepted this book for review because of,

The synopsis

The assurance of it being a standalone.

However, my  introduction into this world revealed an interconnection between the stories in the series. Therefore, refuting the claim of it being a standalone. Divided into two parts, the story provided information on events occurring in the past and the present.

Part One
Past Events

The events of this installment spanned a thirteen-year period. The reader learns of Paxon's aka Irish work with the CIA and his many missions. This included his unauthorized mission involving finding the truth behind the murder of several undercover agents. To flush out the culprit, he went undercover as a double agent. However, the mission failed and the world, except for those privy to the details. branded him a traitor.

Flynn and her brothers grew up with their father, a cantankerous old man who made it his mission to make their lives a living hell. Bullied throughout her years at school because of her weight resulted in issues with low self-esteem. Although surrounded by her loving brothers, it did not compensate for her feelings of insecurity.

Part Two
Current Events

The revelation of new information led to Irish re-entering protective custody. The ranch which Flynn and her brothers operate will be his place of safety. They shared an instant mutual attraction. However, obstacles in the form of  age difference, shackles of the past and the investigation threatened to  douse the spark before it became a raging flame.

Information on Goodreads gave the impression this would  be a sexy, edge of your seat suspenseful read, but I was misinformed. The story was missing the fast-paced, action packed and thrilling experience expected from this genre. It focused on the investigation, with less attention given to the development of the romance. This made it difficult to connect with them as a couple. They rarely spent time together and their romance developed in the last couple of chapters.

This installment featured most of the characters from the previous books. Although not a bad thing, keeping up with them proved challenging. Reading the previous books would have helped in this regard. Also, the couple from the previous book story ran simultaneously with the events of this installment. This took away most of the focus from the main couple.

Conclusion/Recommendation

Overall, an ok read, but it would be best if the series were read in order.

This is the first I've read from this author and I have to say, it won't be the last. I like stories that string you along, that challenge you some, that make you think. This story has that. It's a slow burn that has it's misunderstandings because of who Irish and Flynn are, but beyond that there are so many moving parts, it's easy to get lost in the words. The pieces are moving, shifting, then moving again before they start to settle into some semblance of logic. The players are all over the board, some you think are allies, aren't and some that you side eye, are actually allies. Suspense, action, mysteries murders and mind games abound in this grab you by the arm and won't let you go story.

Paxon (Irish) is finally putting the pieces together. Now he’s on the hunt for the who’s responsible for all the agents’ deaths over the years. But when he meets Flynn, she might prove to be something even more important for him to focus on.

I knew this story was part of an interconnected series, but I thought it was a standalone. Well, I didn’t really get the sense of it being a standalone because I was really thrown by all the characters present here. Characters it was clear knew each other from previous stories. Not only were there too many characters to keep track of, but their familiarity with each other had me underwater, as if I were thrown into the story halfway through it. And that is a sign of a story that isn’t a true standalone. Aside from that, the mystery was well written and interesting, but it was given far more weight than any relationship between Flynn and Irish. Theirs was a true slow burn that didn’t even culminate until far into the story. Perhaps if I had read some or all of the previous stories, I would have enjoyed this more. And if this were marketed as a thriller or action story with only a bit of romance thrown in, then I might have enjoyed it more. But the way it stands and the way it was presented as, I just had a hard time getting into it and the connection and relationship between the two leads was vague at best because it felt far less important than the central case that Irish was investigating.

This was my first read by Heather, but this is the 7th book in this Invincibles series, which while can be read as a standalone I thought I would have got to grips with it better had I read some of the others first.

This book is split into two parts.

Part one is all about Irish and Flynn and their past and what happened in their life, and part two is set in the present and is the story of what is happening now.

We learn about Paxton, aka Irish, having worked for the CIA and about his missions over the years, and his personal agenda of trying to find out who and why all the undercover agents were being murdered. We learn that Flynn was brought up by an angry father who had no time for her, raising her like her brothers and not as a girl. She was bullied at school and college for her weight issues, and only finds solace in cooking on the ranch they own. She has never had a relationship with a boy.

In the present, Irish is moved to a fellow agent's ranch for protection, Flynn just happens to be the follow agent's sister. They meet and have an instant attraction, but there is 15 yrs in age and a whole world of difference between them. They are still in a full scale operation whilst at the ranch, but there is a little time for a touch of romance between them.

This book was all about the investigation and finding the connection between the murders and whittling down the suspects. Not much in the way of action or romance at all really, this was all secondary to the story line. There were way too many characters and situations for me really, not having read any of the other books and I found it difficult to keep up with what was going on. The best part of the book for me were the final few chapters when it all came together and the romance with Flynn and Irish blossomed.

This is the first book in this series I have read, but there is a caveat by the author that does state that whilst the series may be enjoyed more when read in order, each is a stand-alone and therefore it’s assumed it can be read on its own
I’d say I disagree with that, this book was a good read in its own right but there are an awful lot of characters that I personally struggled to keep up with in this book that I think I’d have managed better if I’d been introduced to the throughout a series, it also seemed that other characters stories were running in parallel with this one and the underlying storyline is one that has been described more in depth from other perspectives in other books...One thing that was clear (after a little research on my part of the authors series) is that the author does intertwine her series in a really skilful way. Normally that’s a huge plus for me and I adore revisiting characters in an ongoing series so if I were to read more of her books that’s a positive for me.

The downsides for this book unfortunately were the relationship between Irish and Flynn. I never really felt it. I got that he was a damaged soul and could understand why, Flynn I couldn’t really get to grips with and whilst I got that she had been bullied I genuinely struggled with her being such a total walkover and how her brothers, who were allegedly so protective and loving to her didn’t know about or deal with this or realise the impact on her mental health and also how not a word was spoken about her taking up with a guy 15 years her senior that they didn’t really know. I also just never got the sense they spent that much time together so for him to claim her after such little time, with her being so naive and innocent felt slightly odd.

I think this book was well written but I suspect this is a series that only truly makes sense once you have read all the component parts so starting with this book probably isn’t best advised

This book offered just the right blend of thrills, suspense and romance. Along with all the excitement of this well crafted story, you get what I thought was a really beautiful love story. Irish and Flynn so easily melted my heart as they hit me with an avalanche of feels. They were just so sweet and perfect together and my heart just melted as I witnessed these two wounded hearts find love. I am freely posting a frank review.

I would recommend reading this series in order - although there is a backstory recap, it is quite a lot of information to try and assimilate in one go.

There were several stories kind of overlapping and seen from other POV, so it was a bit of a challenge as I haven't read all the books in this series yet LOL. However, I soon wrapped my head around it and thoroughly enjoyed the story.

Poor Irished! He went undercover to rout out a traitor and got labelled that himself instead. Only a few people knew the truth and even now that he's been exonerated he still gets nasty looks. Flynn has always been a tomboy, more at home on the farm than in high heels. She does have a very serious self-esteem problem due to the bullying she endured at school and she is a tad naive. whilst the relationship between Irished and Flynn seems a bit skewed at first, as the story progressed I finally got what they needed from the other. Flynn needed a protector and someone to build her up and Flynn needed someone to see past the hardened exterior to the wounded soul underneath.

The age difference itself didn't bother me but her brothers need knocked around the brain a bit for ignoring the bullying she underwent. And if their dad wasn't already dead, I'd strangle him for the way he treated his kids.

ARC for honest review with no compensation Received from BookSprout

Irished is book 7 in the Invincibles series by Heather Slade and another swoon worthy read. While each book in this series is about a different couple reading them in order gives you a more informed and enjoyable read!

Two parts incorporated into this book is part 1 about Irish’s missions and part 2 is about Flynn, his partner Buck’s sister and the woman he is falling for…

Suspense, twists, turns, mystery, protection, instant attraction just to name a few of what is happening in the book! Can’t wait to see where Ms. Slade takes us in the next book…

This is book 7 in The Invincibles series and while it could be read as a stand alone, a lot of the characters that are seen in this book were in previous books or connected series. With that being said, in this one we get Flynn and Paxon's (Irish) story. Irish has been undercover for years. Not only doing his job as a CIA agent but also trying to figure out who has been killing good agents. And just when he thought that mission was over, he finds out there is more to it than was originally thought. And goes to the ranch to not only stay safe, but to find out exactly who all is involved. Flynn grew up being bullied. As an adult, she has found the one spot that makes her happy-even if it's not what most people would think would. And when she meet's Paxon, she finds a connection that she wasn't expecting. And has no idea how to even deal with. But they both are finding out that not only are they attracted to each other but they genuinely like each other as people. Can they be what each other needs?

I really loved most of this story. Flynn was horribly bullied as a child and teen-and that has followed her into adulthood. She pulled into herself in order to try to minimize the pain and hurt caused by others. Paxon did what most people would never do-he gave up the respect and loyalty of the people who should have had his back in order to do the right thing and try to bring down the people killing fellow agents. And when the case still isn't finished-he still steps up and does the right thing. I loved that about him! This book is definitely a slow burn, but honestly, I felt like that was the best way to tell this story because of the issues that both of these characters have personally. I loved that they have this connection that is more than just a physical attraction. They truly understand each other, and just get what each of them needs. And not only that but they aren't afraid to admit when they are wrong or to apologize. My only issue with this book, and it's why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, is if her brother's are so protective of her and love her so much-how do they not handle the people bullying her? Or make sure she knows her own worth beyond what these people say and do to her? I was slightly confused about that. But that really was my only downside to this book. Everything else? I loved and will be rereading often!

Best Book in a Long Time! OMG!! This is the most amazing series! Each book just draws you deeper and deeper in and you absolutely cannot put it aside. Irished is book # 7 of the Invincible’s Series. It’s Irishes story, which is all about mostly Irish tracking and figuring out what is happening to CIA operatives in the field that are losing their lives but its all just being swept under the rug and nothing being done about it. Irish finally pulls his handler in on all the information he has amassed and its astounding. Ends up being quite a corrupt mess and his handler convinces Irish to bring in a superior intelligence group the Invincible’s to help figure out what is going on. They convince Irish to take the fall for being a double agent and selling secrets to China and he goes to prison but its under their protection in hopes of smoking out the real mole. His/their cover is blown and they have to move Irish to a ranch in Colorado that belongs to one of their operatives and his family to keep him under cover and safe. Irish falls for the younger sister of that operative that is 15 years younger than him. Flynn has her own hidden secrets and haunted pains from her past that prevents them from really coming together and forming a relationship. Will Irish and Flynn be able to maintain their feelings long enough and hold it together until everything is sorted out and taken care of and everyone is safe and they can have a real relationship? Can they trust each other when there isn’t anyone else around that is trustworthy? This is a standalone story, but I would encourage you to read the entire series just for the background knowledge of all the cast of characters. This author is amazing at keeping the characters coming forward into each book. I absolutely love this entire series. It is a must for my library. It is rare I read a book more than once, but this one is definitely to be read and reread again. One of my favorite authors. You will not be dissatisfied. I received an Advance Reader's Copy and am voluntarily leaving my honest thoughts and opinions.

When Paxton 'Irish' Warrick meets Flynn he is almost struck dumb with her beauty. All he wants to do is touch her, he stops himself from making a fool of himself by remembering how much younger she is than him. However, she doesn't seem to care.

In this book we get two parts in the first we have Irish's whole story of being undercover. From the beginning of his CIA career, Cope has been his handler. We get to see how that occurred and how Irish really didn't want to work with him at first.

All that is interspersed with Flynn's story and the bullying she endured growing up. Her father dressed her like her brothers, no frills, no women's jeans, just standard ranch wear.

Page by page we follow Irish's career mission to mission, to following the leads on the murdered agents. The number of which had increased exponentially over the last few years. Suspicious at the very least.

The books in this series seriously overlap, as we see how Irish really played a part as we review each case to reach the present. What did they miss...

While I loved getting to know both Flynn and Irish in Part 1, Part is where things really get going. Irish is now an asset and Buck's family ranch is his safe house.

Flynn's brother's band is playing at a neighboring ranch and everyone has been invited. Because of the location security is not an issue.

Flynn and Irish have an attraction that goes far beyond just chemistry. He's determined not only to finish his case but also break through Flynn's barriers.

Flynn's walls are high, she has no clue how beautiful she really is. Her self esteem is non-existent, but her new friends are helping.

Everyone is involved in this, and I do mean everyone. Burns, Sorcha, K19 and the Invincibles all join forces to end this mission once and for all.

Lots of action suspense and intrigue with plenty of romance and some sizzling heat.

Another great hit by Heather Slade

Irish and Cope have been working for almost ten years on finding out who had been killing agents. They have been working to find who is heading these assassinations.
As they are closing in Irish and Cope are on assignment to protect their friend Buck and Stella on who murdered her Aunt and housekeeper. Barbara ten years previous was an investigative reporter and was discredited for the information she had. They made up lies and said she was disgruntled for losing her affair with the head of the CIA. But she was getting to close to the truth.
Irish, Cope, Buck and Stella went to Colorado at Buck's ranch to try and figure out who is behind what's going on.
The Invincibles and K19 are called in to find out who is creating trouble and these murders.
While he is there he meets Buck's younger sister, Flynn, and feels this calming effect from her. She has her own demons from being bullying all through school. Because of her being full bodied she was called a heifer and fat jokes. Her Father didn't help with his stubborn ways.
Irish is attracted to her and her big heart and the love she has for her brother Buck.
Great story of intrigue and how Flynn starts to fit into Irish heart.
He knows he's older than her but the feelings are there. His life has been consumed with this case he hasn't had time to let love in.
Flynn had never been with a man or been kissed. Irish is the man who will awaken her heart.
But first he has to get to the case in hand before he will make love to her.
Great story of two people who are looking for a resolution to the hurts of life. But their love and respect for each other is heart warming.
Recommend reading if you like intrigue and love .

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Irished by Heather Slade is a romantic suspense. It's the seventh book from the Invincibles series.

The story is divided into two parts. The first part is about Irish and Flynn's past and the second is about their present. In the first part, we learned how Paxon Warrick aka Irish, joined the CIA, about his missions over the years, and his search for the hidden reason behind the agents' assassinations. Also, we got to know about Flynn's family and her personal hell while growing up.
The second part began when Irish had to go into hiding and was transferred to a fellow agent's ranch. There he met Flynn and was struck by the cupid's arrow. The instant attraction grew into something deeper quickly. Of course, we learned about the progress of the investigation and
the grand finale.
The plot is full of suspense and mystery, it doesn't have much action and the romance is almost like a side story. The part of the investigation was kind of confusing because of all the names that were thrown. Too many characters and situations, you have to pay close attention to in order to understand what's happening. The characters were interesting. Irish was the hero agent who fought for the greater good but didn't know how to live a civilian life. Flynn was raised as
a boy and got bullied her whole life which tore her confidence into pieces. The last few chapters were my favorite because their romance bloomed and it was like nursing each other to health.

Irished is an interesting but quite different novel from others in this genre. I will rate it with 3.5 stars.

Oh goodness gracious!! I have never read from this author and to experience the writing style and story for the first time of a new to me author is so exciting and terrifying. I never know if I’m truly going to like a persons style or even the book I’ve decided to read. I had a few issues with the content of the book but that in no way reflected in my star rating since so much over shadowed it.

I didn’t like the prologue. I think this story didn’t need that part at the beginning at all and I think it misled me and confused me. I very much loved everything about Paxon (Irish) and his heart being worn on his sleeve. Something very different than I expect from him. I experienced moments where I got lost in all the words instead of the story. I understand that every single detail needed to be said but I think some of it over took Irish’s story.

Flynn seemed like a genuine person people can relate to and that no one ever writes about. I didn’t experience everything that happened to her but man did she have my heart with all she had thrown at her. Her part of the story wasn’t muddled with jargon or too much information, she was just Flynn.

I get why the author put so many details and maybe to others a story like this needs those details but I didn’t. I really did get lost in the story as a whole though. My head felt like I was watching this intense movie being played out and just biting my nails waiting for things to happen. I could’ve honestly done without some of the info but it is what it is. I loved the action, the conspiracy, the dedication and even the touch of romance.

The mission to end all missions...the love of only one woman

Irished is the seventh book in The Invincibles series. I have read one previous book by Heather Slade which I liked but this is the first book in this series for me, so I was not sure what to expect. This story is about Paxon "Irish" Warrick and Flynn Wheaton. Irish is a CIA operative who arrives at the Wheaton Ranch with friend and fellow CIA agent Buck Wheaton. Irish is trying to discover just why a number of undercover agents are being murdered and who is behind it. Flynn is the only girl in the family who was raised by her father and brothers. She is a damaged soul because of the this and also because she was bullied and picked on when she was growing up because of her weight. She moved back to the ranch after finishing college and is now the cook for the family and ranch hands. The best way to describe Flynn is innocent as she has never had a boyfriend or any type of relationship. Irish may be older than Flynn but when he sees her he knows he wants her. For Flynn is is attracted to the older, handsome and serious Irish but is not sure how to behave or what to do. Yep it is like watching a new born foul as it tries to stand for the first time....all wobbly and unsure and falling down until it gets it's legs under it.
This is a well written book with a story-line that weaves together a lot of moving pieces and characters. The story has action, mystery, suspense, twists and turns, romance, family, love and some sizzle. This story is an intriguing and thrilling read.

I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

I love Heather's work because I always know that I will get a book that has the perfect combination of suspense drama intrigue and romance and this latest offering is no exception I should know better and start her books early in the day because once again I was reading into the early hours of the morning not wanting to put it down. While this book can be read as a stand alone I think it is a far better read if you have read the previous books in the series

When Paxon "Irish" Warrick a CIA operative sees a pattern in the death of his fellow operatives he draws it to the attention of his handler This leads to him been in protective custody and the place he is sent is to his friend Bucks ranch There he meets Bucks younger sister Flynn Wheaton. He is instantly drawn to her but not only is she a friends sister but she is much younger than him and he also has a huge target on his back. He may be older and wiser and a whole more cynical while she is young and innocent but the connection is there and they can't deny it. As we learn more of Irish's past and how Flynn has been bullied we see that they are perfect for one another but can he survive to give her a future You will have to read to see

This is Irish and Flynn’s story. If you’ve been following the story line, a lot of threads are pulled together in this one. (If you haven’t read the previous books, you’re missing out on a fabulous series which I highly recommend.).

Irish has been on a job for years. He’s handling it almost on his own but now it’s time for the Invincibles to join in. Flynn has been hurt in the past but she’s no damsel in distress. She’s just what Irish needs to come in from the cold. He is just what she needs to find a future. We get to visit with a number of other characters that we’ve met in previous books and the problem they’ve been working on is getting tied up. There is an overall story arc that has run through the series that we believe is being solved in this book (no guarantees though). Flynn and Irish get their HEA but since this is book 7 of 9 I expect there’s more we still need to uncover.

Heather Slade writes likable characters that may have had a hard life growing up but they have strength and morals. It’s only when they meet that perfect person that their lives come into focus. Page turning adventure and twists and turns along the way it’s a great story with great characters. I loved it.

Finally, we get the WHOLE story!

Throughout all the previous Invincibles books, we've seen hints of an ongoing investigation that included a mission in China, murders in France, and suspects in Interpol. Along the way, we learned that Irish was working as a double agent to get to the bottom of a series of "in the line of duty" deaths of far too many agents. Now that it's his turn to find his happiness, the author begins his story with a beautiful gift to her readers, whether they are new to her series or die-hard fans. We are treated to a comprehensive history of Paxon's career, which has been almost entirely devoted to solving this mystery, to the exclusion of everything else in his life, including any semblance of a personal life or social interactions.

We also met Buck's young sister, Flynn, in Bucked, and here we're given even more of her history leading up to her meeting Paxon at their ranch while he's working with the entire Invincibles and K19 teams to tie all the loose ends of the investigation together.

Flynn is a beautiful soul, a young woman who brings so much more to Paxon's life than he ever expected, especially from someone so much younger. Paxon is finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, and is cautiously allowing himself to think of a future beyond the case that has consumed his life. Together, these two make each other whole, and it was an absolutely beautiful story to read.

There's plenty of action - of all kinds - as we know to expect from this author's romantic suspense series. Eventually Paxon and Flynn can relax and enjoy a very satisfying HEA, which was made all the more sweeter because of the hurdles they had to overcome along the way.

The author really outdid herself on this story. It's the perfect end to an enthralling series, and the sweet, tender love story is one of her best. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Sometimes doing something for the greater god, God and country sounds good but can leave you damaged emotionally and mentally down to your soul. This is so very true for Paxon "Irish" Warrick. The first part of Code Name: Irish provides his history and gives you insight into his life's trauma. The same holds true for Flynn Wheaton. While her life was not on the line for country, her pain is no less real and comes from childhood bullying experiences and an overbearing father. Meeting each other at Roaring Fork Ranch for the first time they both feel a connection but the circumstances that brought him there are not conducive to relationship building. Not only that both Flynn and Paxon have isolated themselves from others that their interpersonal skills are severly lacking. As he, Cope, Buck, the Invincibles, K19, the CIA and few odds and ends people work diligently to end Operation Argead once and for all, Flynn becomes his solace. His soft place to land. His resolve to keep her at arm's length crumbles with each passing moment. It's not an easy journey given their histories and there are lots of rocky moments. But, ultimately, their hearts win out and the future beckons them.

Heather SLADE has done it again and given us a wonderful look into the life of Paxon/Irish a CIA agent who for the last 8 years has been trying to find out who is killing off agents and MI6 agents and then being swept under the rug by the agencies. After going under cover and becoming the fall guy and tagged as a traitor and jailed, he’s looking for closure. When the previous mission is completed and they think they have all the responsible parties involved, new intel says that is t so. Irish, Cope, Ali, Buck and Stella are taken to Montana to keep them safe and dig for more info. There he meets Flynn, the sister of Buck and the connection between them is strong. Great storyline with all the feels , suspense, danger, insecurities, and Irish finally accepting he deserves happiness too, as well as Flynn who had a hard life growing up. Loved it and looking forward to the next book in this series.

I was soo excited for Irish's story after getting glimpses of him and to learn what he has been through and what drives him ... wow talk about being driven and then there is Flynn I just wanted give that girl a big hug and tell her she's awesome. The fact that both Flynn and Irish are a bit lost in life and only living for one thing ie Flynn for her amazing cooking and Irish for finding who responsible for so many operatives deaths. There is a cross over in time from when Irish turned up at Wheaton Ranch which I loved as we got to see what was going on with Irish while Buck and Stella come together and work on their part about the bad guys. Be ready for self doubts, determination, undeniable attraction, danger, laughter, family whether by blood or bond and the hope that two people that totally deserve a happy ever after get it!

If you are familiar with the last books of the Invincibles and/or the K19 series, then you know what to expect from this book.
This is the story of Irish, a man who willingly became a traitor in the eye of the public to lure the people behind the assassinations of CIA and MI6 agents out of hteir hiding. In flashbacks we follow the development of the investigation from the very beginning to its final solution. If you already read Buck`s story, you know his side of the story, but as Irish was there from the very beginning, this book is a terat, filling out gaps and giving new insight into developments in past books. Almost on the side is the love story of Irish and Flynn, Buck's sister. It lightens the modd of the book and gives the reader a break from the isinister plot everyone is working with.. A really well-written book.

I have not read anything by Heather Slade before and even though this book was the 7th in a 9 book series generally it's easy to get into. But it probably would have been easier if I'd read more of the series. With all the stuff swirling around Paxton (Irish) and Flynn, it was hard to focus on their story. Flynn is a fellow agent's younger sister who has a lot of baggage from her youth because of her father's neglect and shaming her about her weight. But, working at her brother's ranch gives her purpose, a sense of worth, and peace. When Irish is moved there for protection, they meet, there is an instant attraction and chemistry, but she is an innocent and he's 15 years older. The most compelling part of this book for me was their growing relationship, their steam, how they reconciled it, and their growth as a couple.

Romance, Danger, and Double Agents

Someone is killing good agents by the dozen, and Irish wants to know who and why. He makes a huge and dangerous sacrifice. Can he and his team find the truth?

Irish goes to a ranch to work undercover, where he meets Flynn. There is just one problem; he is fifteen years her senior, and she is his partner’s sister. Do they have a chance?

Flynn was bullied throughout school because of her weight. Will she trust her heart when it begins to beat for Irish? Will she believe that she is lovable, no matter how much she weighs?

This is a complex romantic suspense with lots of players. It is more enjoyable if you read the prior stories and understand the people involved. However, even if you don’t read the series, this story is still entertaining on its own. I enjoyed it and would recommend it to those who like romantic suspense with action, adventure, and secrets.

Oh, to be Irished!

Part I. This is all the background of Irish and the mission he was on for several years. It’s very informative.

Part II. This is the story of Irish & Flynn. Irish works for the CIA, and must go to another operative’s ranch, Buck, so he is in hiding until, hopefully, the mission he started is over. He is still working on this mission from the ranch, along with others. Flynn is Buck’s sister. As soon as they shake hands, it’s inevitable that they have this attraction to each other. They are both so insecure, though. There is a lot of suspense and mystery in this story, along with love? The way this story is written, it’s very different from the norm. That’s what makes it so interesting. I love that Heather Slade can mix it up like she does. Kudos to Heather.

Paxton, 36, is a government agent, has a dangerous job and been involved in several covert operations. Flynn, 21, is a ranchers daughter who has been belittled and teased by others during her youth and has not had much excitement or experience beyond the ranch she has grown up on and those around her. Her eldest brother is also a government agent and involved in bringing together various people and teams on the ranch to sort out problems arising from a particular mission.
Interest and attraction between Paxon and Flynn. She grounds him and offers contentment; he offers her love and affection with a sense or worth.
There is a lot of detail and many characters named in this mystery, thriller ... but a simple, romantic ending

This book was an excellent read, but I found the story revolved more around the special ops than romance. Sure romance was there, but not as much as I expected for a romance book. The story starts in the present to introduce the main characters, then jumps to the past to build the story, bringing you up to the here and now. The special ops part of the story is filled with intrigue, espionage, and is very well written. Although part of a series, this was the first book I read. I certainly feel it could be read as a standalone, but I am interested in reading some of the previous books as well. The characters do overlap. I would certainly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys special ops/military types of stories, with a dash of romance sprinkled in.

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. This is the seventh book in the Invincibles series. It is about the love story between Irish and Flynn. Irish has been deep as a double agent undercover. He is currently at the Wheaton Ranch and falls hard and fast for Bucks sister. Irish has given up so much because of being undercover for so long. Flynn was raised by the men of her family which led to a lot of bullying. These two find a connection and peace together that they never expected. There are agents still being killed though and Irish is determined to stop them. The story has suspense, danger, drama, action, family, friends and love. I thought that it was well written with great characters.

Irish is an undercover agent who has noticed a suspicious trend regarding the death of fellow agents and their last missions. His search for the truth leads to him being treated as an accomplice when he is sent to the Buck’s family ranch to continue his investigation and meets Flynn.

Flynn was raised in a family of men and even though her brothers loved her she felt very alone. She still carries the emotional hurt of the bullying and belittling she experienced while she was growing up that she doesn’t talk about. She may be attracted to Irish but doesn’t believe she can hold his attention for the long term.

As the investigation continues the feelings between Flynn and Irish escalate. The difference in their ages is irrelevant when it comes to the heart as they show each other that that they are accepted and loved for who the other is exactly as they are.

This is book 7 in The Invincibles series and it features Paxon “Irish” Warrick and Flynn Wheaton.  She is Buck’s sister, that grew up sheltered and treated like one of the boys by their father. She’s now 21 and for the first time in her life, is romantically interested in a man.  That man is Irish, who is staying at her ranch for protection.  As the investigation into Argead continues, the Invincibles and K-19 are called in to help take down all the players.

Read this spectacular book and watch a woman who’s starved for the touch and attention of a man who’s learning how to give her exactly what she’s looking for.  At the same time he’s learning how to live a normal life again.

This is another fantastic book in an amazing series.  I absolutely loved seeing so many characters from previous stories and related series.  BRAVO!
