Spring, 2025 -- I have never read a book that soared this deep into the emotions of those who were human trafficked from the continent of Africa to the American South, with drop-offs in the Carribean Islands, Cuba and South America on the way. Or, I'll say none as deep besides Dr. Daniel Black's "The Coming," which also discussed the feelings of those first kidnapped Africans. Dr. Ani's section that gives tribute to the aforementioned Ancestors is so good I read it 3 times before I could move on.
And that was only the first part. The rest of the book was also excellent. Her interpretation of Black Music was exactly how I've been thinking of it for many years, as well as other sections which make us reconsider every colonizing thought we've ever had. The Truth is in this book. The entire Diaspora should read this book as soon as they can. It gives you fortification against the attacks that we [and all non-white people] are under right now, with the implementation of the edicts of Project 2025.
