The following ratings are out of 5: Romance: 🩵🖤❤️ Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📕📗📙 World building: 🌏🌍🌎 Character development: ☹️☺️😍 Narrator(s): 🎙🎙🎙🎙 Narration type: Dual Narration
The Hero:Kian (a.k.a. Edge) - He is going into business with a bunch of friends and former intelligence agents, called Invincible’s Intelligence and Security, which is headquartered in Texas. He recently left MI5, which is an intelligence service that focuses on national security threats in the UK (while MI6 is focused on gathering intelligence abroad to protect British interests). He is still recovering from being shot in the arm, after having three separate surgeries.
The heroine:Lucy (a.k.a. Rebel) - she works at a local bar in Hayes County, Texas. When some drunk aryan brotherhood guys come into the bar, she recognizes one of the guys from years ago when he killed her mother. She knew that if she ever saw the man again, she would do anything she could to get revenge on him. She planned to kill him as soon as she could.
The Story: Rebel and Edge meet one night outside the bar when he saves her from being raped by the man she intended to kill. He is impressed with her when she knees the guy in the crotch and punches him in the gut after Edge pulls him off her. Then she plants a kiss on Edge’s lips before walking away. They see each other a few days later at the bar when she buys him a drink. Though he tells her he is going away for a while and would kiss her if he wasn’t. When he returns to town and asks about Rebel, he finds out that she is in jail for killing the man that tried to rape her.
The story was good, but it didn’t pull me in like the first book in this series. I liked the characters but I tend to like narration without accents and both of these narrators had accents. Though the accents both matched the characters, I am a bit biased for American (midwestern) accents over English and southern accents.
This audiobook was in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Phillip Battley and Stephanie Nemeth-Parker. Stephanie has a nice, soft voice with a southern accent. Phillip has a nice deep voice, with a posh english accent and he is a good narrator. The accent is perfect for the character, but I could hardly believe that this was the same narrator as in the first book. I must say, I am not that fond of an english accent.

Edged is book 2 of the Invincibles series by Heather Slade and while each book is a standalone reading these in order gives you the background into MI5, MI6 and how the Invincibles came to be...
Keon “Edge” Edgemom works for the Invincibles and right before he is sent on a mission he saves Lucy “Rebel” Marks from being raped… Fast forward three months and he returns home after recuperating from a gunshot wound. Action. Intrigue. Keon "Edge" Edgemon is immediately attracted to Lucy "Rebel" Marks, however, he has an assignment to do before he acts upon the attraction. Rebel finds herself in deep trouble. Between Edge and Rebel, can they find what lies behind her arrest? The brilliant plot leads to page-turner suspense. Wonderful characters. A great addition to the Invincibles Series. ONE HELL ON WHEELS ADVENTURE!!! Holy Crap! Heather raises the bar nailing this bad boy to the wall, pegging every emotion, ramping up this impressive storyline and gripping plot, melding this baby together piece by piece seamlessly. Satisfying is an understatement, it doesn't get any better than this. Sparks fly as drama, intrigue, vendetta, turmoil, danger and mounting suspense spirals, bursting this gem to life spectacularly. Toss in distress, tension, distrust and perplexing situations along with a boatload of hidden agenda's, you have one mind-blowing adventure. Trudging through the trials and tribulations, shocking twists, sharp turns and crisp lines, testing our characters in ways they could have never anticipated. The characters chemistry sizzles from the pages and suck you in so deeply until you feel the heat and electricity thrumming through your veins. The characters are authentic and realistic with depth and qualities that transform into outstanding personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and descriptions creating a colorful backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Fantastic job Heather, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
I really enjoyed reading Edged . This story is full of suspense and intrigue . I found this a interesting story . Lucy (Rebel ) Marks sets out to avenge her mothers murder when she comes face to face with the killer . He attempts to rape her but Keon (Edge) Edgemon comes to her rescue . Before they can get to know each other Edge is call away on a mission for the Invincibles at which he is injured . He returns to Texas months later hoping to get to know Rebel better . He is shocked to find she has been arrested for murdering the man who attempted to rape her . Edge gets Rebel out on bail . He with the help from the Invincibles set out to prove her innocence and catch who committed the murder and set her up . Of course the chemistry between Rebel and Edge is smoking hot but Rebels life has not been easy and she has issue with trust . She has been taking care of herself for along time so Edge has lot of work to convince her to trust him and a relationship between them . Edge and the Invincibles must protect Rebel at all cost I was pulled into this story from the start . I highly recommend taking the time to read and enjoy .

Before leaving Texas, Keon 'Edge' Edgemon stops at the Long Branch, there he officially meets Lucy 'Rebel', the woman he saved from rape a few nights previously. He also gets the pleasure of escorting her rapist out of the bar wondering how he managed to get out of prison.
It's been months and the only though Edge has is seeing Rebel again. The mission he was on left him injured and in need of therapy. Now he's back and the first thing he does is stop at the Long Branch with his brother. What he finds has him feeling responsible and he's determined to set things right.
As the lawyer Keon 'Edge' hired to represent Lily 'Rebel' works to get her exonerated, the Invincibles work to find the actual killer.
Many obstacles as they learn more about the victim 'Possum', unwrapping layer after layer.
Rebel finds not only a romance, but also a reconciliation with Tee Tee. Although the romance isn't easy for either her nor Edge.
Plenty of twists, lots of suspense, and that simmer to sizzle romance.
I couldn't put this book down and I can't wait for the next book in this series.
4.5 stars Edged is the second book in the Invincible series by Heather Slade. Keon Edgemon (aka Edge), who is a personal security expert, meets Rebel, a young woman bartender at a local pub, on the eve of his departure for an assignment. When Edge returns to Texas, he learns that Rebel was arrested for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, resulting in an indictment for murder. This novel has a lot of substance in it. The author takes the time to develop her characters and there are several steamy scenes between Edge and Rebel. Also, a strong thread of suspense runs throughout the book as Edge and Rebel work to discover the origin of the threat to Rebel's life. My reason for rating this book 4.5 stars instead of 5 stars? It is because there is a slight cliffhanger at the end of the book. To sum it up, the lack of closure on this issue does not affect the enjoyment I received in reading this story. This is a stand-alone novel, but the cliffhanger may play a part in the upcoming stories in this series. For adult content I recommend this story to adult readers.
Book number two of the Invincibles, Edged. Let me say I have not been disappointed and again as in book #1 Decked this is not a normal read for me but let me tell you Heather Slade is rapidly in the flow of changing my reading to adding some suspense with my reading of romance and etc. I thoroughly enjoyed this exciting read. This story is about Lucy “Rebel” and Keon “Edge” and is absolutely filled with suspense, drama, mystery, intensity, danger and romance. It is a story that will grab ahold of you and keep you on the edge of your seat right up until you discover you are on the last page and you haven’t put the book down. Rebel has an enemy! Can Edge keep Rebel safe till they can find who the enemy is? All I can say is wow I absolutely loved this book and highly recommend it. I Cannot wait for more from this author looking forward to book number 3, in fact have a tentative date on my calendar to start looking for #3.

Once again we are with the men of the Invincible Intelligence and Security Group and this is Edges story Like all of Heather's books it is a fast paced romantic suspense that has you on the edge of your seats wondering what will happen next
Edge first met Rebel in more than a casual way when he saves her from been raped outside the bar she works at. Possum the man that attacked her is sent on his way A few days later Edge informs Rebel that eh has to leave on a mission but when he returns he intends to take her out. That mission almost cost Edge his life and now months later after finally recovering from his wounds he has returned to fulfil that promise what he finds is Rebel in jail for the murder of Possum. He knows she is innocent and he gets her released on bail under his care. Now he has to prove her innocence Meanwhile someone is determined to make sure she never gets her day in court but with the help of the team they will prove her innocence Meanwhile Edge is quickly falling in love with Rebel but with her damaged past can she let her walls down to return that love
Undeniebla attraction draws them together but danger, a radical group of white Americans and a high stake of independence almost tears them apart. While Edge tries to get Rebels name cleared of any murder accusation, Rebel tries to rescue herself on her own and fails to see the danger of the trap she tapped onto by herself. It was a Rollercoaster of external danger and moments that were created by Rebels unbreakable idea to rescue herself.
While the whole picture was a great idea, I wanted to shake Rebel here and there and jellat her to not make the situation more acute than they already were. On the other hand it was great that the thread not just disappeared. Because they don't. They linger and fester. Also that Edge had to learn to not overwhelm Rebel with his idea of a relationship but to cut back and learn to appreciate small things.
I didn't feel as connected as to Deck and Mila but I still enjoyed the story and saw a lot of good moments in the story.
This is the story of Edge & Rebel. Edge works for the Invincible Intelligence and Security Group. Rebel works in a bar and a diner. Edge saves her from being raped outside the bar named the Branch, in a pickup truck. The man who tried to rape her is named Possum. Edge goes back to Branch a couple of nights later and Rebel buys him a pint. He tells her he has to go away, but doesn't know for how long, but when he comes back he intends to see her again. Possum walks in and Edge and Steel, the bouncer take him out to the parking lot. Rebel has no idea what happened at that point. He comes back into town to find Rebel in jail for killing Possum. He knew what happened that night, only it wasn't as he thought. Then, the mystery begins to find the killer. This book is a page turner for sure. The magnetism between the two of them is off the charts. I just love Heather Slade's writing and books. Please read. You will love it.
Rebel meets Edge when he saves her from getting raped by the man who killed her mother. Now someone has killed Possum and framed Rebel for his murder. And if that's not enough, once Edge gets her out on bail, someone tries to kill her. There is a lot going on in this story but it is easy to follow because it is so well written and developed. The chemistry between Rebel and Edge is intense but both have things in their pasts that make it hard for them to trust. It's not an easy path for them but it's certainly worth it in the end. 💗🥰🔥💕
This is the second book in The Invincibles series. It can be read as a standalone but remember that it is also connected to the K19 Security Solutions series, the Butler Ranch series and the Military Intelligence Section 6 series. So keep that in mind. 😉❣️

Run, don't walk and grab this book. It does work as a standalone but you'll want Decked (Book 1) as well. This is a fast paced story about a guy and a girl but there is so much more. Edge met Rebel right before going on assignment. They have a spark but no time. He is delayed returning because he was wounded but now he's home and he's going to find that woman. Where he finds her is in jail, for murder. Rebel is determined to find out who is after her because she certainly didn't kill the dead man. Edge and Rebel will have to work together to save their lives and have a future.
Excellent story. The characters are well developed. They are "real". The situations that they find themselves in are real as well. There are twists and turns and an underlying menace that they'll have to work together to survive. The flow of the story is smooth, there are no slow spots and you'll fly through. Thoroughly enjoyable. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).
This book is about a young woman nicknamed Rebel who was arrested and jailed for the murder of a horrible man who was responsible for her mother's death and later trying to rape Rebel. Edge is a former MI5 agent who was sidelined because of a gunshot wound. Edge had met Rebel previously and decided to try to find out who the real killer is, and protect Rebel in the meantime. (He was also able to arrange her release in the meantime as long as she agreed to be in his custody - so she goes to the ranch house where he lives and starts to work for the cook there). Lots of events occur while trying to find the killer so there is plenty of suspense (and plenty of romance as Edge and Rebel fall in love). So it is a great romantic suspense book and I highly recommend it!

When these big strong guys fall they follow hard and that's exactly what Edge does all because of the promise of a kiss. Rebel has done in her own way all of her life hence the nickname Rebel. Now hunting down her mother's killer has gotten her in trouble. Edge isn't the only one it has her in his sights and she knew who he is. Recognized his eyes, so close to black and so much evil oozing out of his pores. She vowed she would kill him. Make him pay for what he had done. Edge was a protector. It was in his genes. So it's no surprise that he helps a woman in need. They had no idea that the promise of a kiss would lead to this.
Once again the team is on point and where they need to be this time because they don't know who to trust or the end game. This time they will need to call in reinforcements because Rebel has landed herself in the middle of a sh$t storm and it's going to take more man power than just Edge. The passion they have for each other is over the top and takes all they have to keep themselves in check, Rebel is fierce and has a hard time receiving help but this time she doesn't have a choice. She shows she's no wimp and her independence makes life difficult for Edge who is also trying to deal with the feelings she evokes. It's a battle of wills between the two of them and this author plays it up well.
Edged book two in The Invincible series by the talented Heather Slade, has suspense, plenty of action and intriguing twists and turns that will definitely keep you hooked from the beginning to the exciting end. Wow these characters are fantastic you couldn’t help but fall for them. Lucy “Rebel” Marks finds herself in some big trouble soon after she had a intriguing run in with Edge. Keon “Edge” Edgemon has come back home to Texas after recovering from an almost deadly gunshot wound during a risky mission hoping to reconnect with the intriguing Rebel, Only he is in for a surprise. This is where the story will grab ahold of you and keep you on the edge of your seat till the last page. Can Edge keep Rebel safe till they can find who the enemy is? All I can say is wow I absolutely loved this book and highly recommend it. Can’t wait for more from this author.
Second book to the INVINCIBLE series, and a spin off to MILITARY INTELLIGENCE SECTION 6. 2 days before he goes on a mission Edge, prevents a rape and is fascinated by Rebel, the woman he had rescued. Returning the next day he is shocked to find the man, who had tried to rape her again entering the premises and decides to give a clear message. Returning from his mission he finds Rebel in prison for the murder of her rapist and involves the Invincibles to protect her and to clear her name. A great story with characters that are well-developed, fast packed action and bitter sweet romance. Like the other books in the series, the characters are flawed and carry a lot of baggage from their past. Finding a HEA is not easy. As always Heather Slade does it again. I really enjoy reading her books! Lucy (Rebel) and Keon (Edge) have just barely met when Edge saves Rebel from being raped the night before has to leaves on a mission. Once the mission is consumed and Edge gets back to Texas he learns that Rebel is in jail. Throw in the rest of the crew and a few new characters and she’s made us fall in love with Edge. Every times I think I have a favorite Ms Slade introduces me to a new man and I’ve fallen again. In this one Edge and Rebel have some serious Texas heat chemistry! What’s a guy to do when the woman he loves is grunge threatened? Call in the team and take out the threat of course!! This is a stand alone in a series, for these two the story pauses. but there are many more invincibles we haven’t met and I cannot wait to meet them!
Edge & Rebel: TRIGGERS- sexual assault, drug abuse, assault, Aryan brotherhood. Edge, former MI-6, now a partner of the invincibles happens by at a bar when a woman is about to be sexually assaulted. He saves her that night but the drama is only beginning. Rebel is a waitress in a bar who has seen Edge before and was immediately taken with him. Only when Edge returns from a mission, Rebel is in trouble. Now the team needs to find out what's going on to help her. Once again the author is on it with the suspense and the drama unfolding with the team but the romance is lacking. Rebel is probably one of my least liked female characters ever. She's immature and ungrateful. So there's this teeth grinding pull from Edge trying to have adult conversations with her between the action and the very few love scenes.
This is book 2 in the Invincibles series and it features Edge and Rebel. Rebel had a chip on her shoulder throughout the book up until the last chapter. When you have an alpha man like Edge, showering you with all of his sexiness, you DO NOT complain! He is a true gentleman, honest, polite, chivalrous and a real take-charge alpha man in the bedroom. What more could she ask for?
The suspense was fantastic! The characters are all fan-freaking-tastic! There seemed to be a lot of people involved in the investigation for the way it eventually turned out. Though I did love having all the characters get involved because it gave me a chance to get to know them a little before their stories are told. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.
Book 2 of the Invincible Series is another awesome and suspenseful romance Story. Edge saves Lucy from a would be rapist on the eve of his departure on a mission. He plans to return sooner, but when he is injured and has several months of surgeries and rehab it’s longer than he had hoped. When he does get back to Texas, he discovers Rebel has been in jail for 3 months on murder charges. He is determined to help her prove her innocence and brings in his team. Great storyline and wonderful Characters that keep you turning pages in this action packed. Read. Loved it! Can’t wait for Grinder’s story. I love Heather’s books, she never disappoints.

Heather Slade has done it again! What an incredibly suspenseful new book in The Invincibles series filled with danger, suspense, murder attempts, false imprisonment, house arrest, passion, flaring tempers, and love. Rebel is a determined woman and out to prove her own innocence i a murder investigation. Edge hasn't been able to forget the woman he left behind before his last mission. Now back in Texas he has sworn to help prove Rebel's innocence, but what happens when someone wants to silence her forever? Edged is a captivating must read that will have readers on the edge of their seats (no pun intended) from beginning to end. I loved this book and can't wait for the next book in the series.

Edge and Lucy/Rebel. Great writing shows a blend of action and mystery with romance. The security firm is making a difference, but with local cases and domestic issues in this story as they work to save Rebel from incorrect charges. Edge and Rebel have chemistry, but Edge has to work to prove himself to Rebel and gain her trust. There is some dissension in the team as there is an undercover fbi agent that not everyone knew about, Grinder has a problem, and Casper is a strong personality dealing with grief. Quint and Darrow make appearances, but no one from the K19 or M16 series really had a role. The sheriff, Mac, grabbed my attention and so did Tia. A solid read with a lovely HEA.
These guys are awesome as M15 operatives. But my favorite is when they come back “home” – or to Decker’s ranch and deal with everyday life and security matters. Edge saves Rebel from the man who killed her mother. But when the killer is found dead, Rebel is the prime suspect. Given into Edge’s custody, these two try to keep a certain distance without much luck (thank goodness).
Rebel has never received any kindness, and mistrusts Edges motivations. Edge want only the best for Rebel, even if that means giving her up. Fabulous story, great characters, and a team that we all wish we had at our back!!
**I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book**
I just loved Rebel and Edge they are both strong personalities and wen they clash there is sparks galore!! I totally got why Rebel was so stand offish and struggled with everything going on, her life hasn't been easy and to actually let people in let alone help her was hard, fortunately Edge is pretty determined to keep her close and when he needs to back off even if at times his timing is a bit slow. This is a great story of attraction, danger some good twists and learning that sometimes its ok to open your heart (both Edge & Rebel) and you can not just get a partner but a whole family out of it!!!

I'm not a reviewer that rehashes the story, if you're reading the reviews you know what it's about. I'll tell you what I look for in a review: what I liked (or didn't) about the story. The story itself is well written and moves at a good pace, no lagging or rushing. The characters are fully fleshed out, the dialog is intelligent and engaging, there's sexy times, and intrigue to boot. If you enjoy Audio books, the performance by the narrators was fantastic. I don't know that she could have picked better voices for her characters. This was a great addition to the series. Heather Slade is fast becoming a favorite!
Edge had no idea that a last minute decision to grab a beer would change hs life. Saving Rebel turns out to be his finest accomplishment. There is a lot going on in this book. Murder, an attempted kidnapping, a revenge plot and a foray into an Aryan Nation stronghold. Rebel is framed for a murder and the Invincibles work to prove her innocence. All her life she's rarely had someone to protect and care for her. Having Edge take up her cause and then become deeply involved with him, has her a little off kilter. Edge knows this woman is meant to be his and he falls hard and fast. Working to make her happy and have her dreams come true is his goal.
Another great book from Heather Slade. Edged captivates the reader from the beginning and holds you throughout as the story unfolds and keeps you turning the pages. The characters as always are easy to capture in your mind and stay firmly fixed long after you've finished their story. Edged is full of gripping suspense and intrigue with of course a healthy dose of romance. Definitely worth reading this superb series
