There's no rest for Ani, even if she's now a Priestess Of Anubis.
The last thing Ani expected to happen after she was ordained was being sent to another city to oversee the mummification of one of Nik's aunts, especially while they're still trying to work out their new relationship.
And when they return to London, they discover that things are heating up, especially when the Temple of Ma'at starts probing into all the things Nik's father would prefer remained secret.

Book 4: It’s been a month since Nik and Ani went to the Temple of Ma’at about the irregularities they’ve discovered and have been trying to right in the Temple of Anubis. It’s also been a full year since Ani was chosen as Blessed. Now as they move into slightly more advanced duties they two are settling into routine as priests and a couple. Nick’s father sends the duo to the Temple in York when a distant relative aunt passes and they are expected to perform the rights. They end stuck between a rock and a hard place. They can’t refuse as the high priest has sent them but they are put into a position that they aren’t really fully qualified for. Then they get to York and discover a new Blessed apprentice. As they go about their duties they find that something is very hinky in the temple and with the Blessed apprentice. Another exciting albeit stressful adventure for Nik and Ani. They really seem unable to stay out of trouble even if they have the best intentions. It seems that Anubis has chosen them both for something and that their path will lead to great change within the temples. Very cool to see a glimpse of life outside London and it’s temple. I liked that this story wasn’t as work centric, and we see the deepening bond between Ani and Nik. Bring on the next book! Can’t wait to see more of these characters and their lives!!
Book 5: Ani and Nik are back in the London Temple hard at work. They’ve moved into new priest quarters 4 in each apartment and thankfully they are assigned to the same flat. Continuing their training Nik and Ani are assigned to a new section and are working in the tombs. Helping finish them and oversee that all is ready for their future inhabitants. Rather interesting the things people will ask to have entombed with them. They are summoned to the temple of Ma’at for an update and meet the people who they will come to if they see or discover anything else wrong in the Temple of Anubis. Priestesses of Ma’at come and are auditing the Temple. Nik and Ani are both conflicted they want to make things better but at the same time this is very personal especially for Nik. Thankfully they have each other and Matia of course. With the presence of Ma’at’s priestesses one thing is certain change is coming. This was definitely an intense installment of Ani and Nick’s journey. Lots of things are changing both professionally and personally. Loved the cameo from Neffie! Absolutely in love with this series each book gets better than the previous! So excited to continue reading about all the adventures of Ani and Nik!
Book 6: Ma’at’s Temple’s investigation is in full force and the Temple of Anubis is in chaos. Priests and priestesses are overwhelmed with duties as their numbers continue to dwindle. When Ani and Nik started their investigating they had no idea that the corruption was so widespread. All of them are exhausted and a bit dispirited. Just as Ani and Nik get a small break and are assigned a relatively light duty Ani is requested for planning a funeral for a high profile family read difficult even though she’s no idea how. Amidst the chaos and confusion of the ongoing audit there is a lot of personal growth. The relationship between Ani and Nik, the friendships they’ve formed and even career growth as they all earn respect for the hard work they’ve done. I rather enjoyed this story a lot. Through the position of funeral director that Ani must take on we got to see some of all the temple functions and I think we can all relate to her frustrations with the family. While this is still a book about a Blessed Priestess of Anubis it was so much more about her personal development journey. Less crazy hijinks for Nik and Ani but a most enjoyable read nonetheless. Eagerly await the next installment of their story!.

Secrets Of The Chosen Leave it to Ani and Nik to get themselves tangled in another mystery, even when they're far from their own temple. Trouble seems to follow them like a shadow—or maybe it's their insatiable curiosity that always leads them to uncover dark secrets! In "Secrets Of The Chosen," book 4 of "The Apprentice of Anubis" series, Laura Greenwood once again delivers a thrilling, laugh-out-loud adventure that you won't want to miss. This time, our dynamic duo is sent to oversee the burial of one of Nik’s relatives, representing the London temple. Of course, things don't go as planned, and they soon find themselves caught up in a bizarre affair involving a young blessed and a very uncooperative sacred Jackal. And just when you think things can't get any wilder, the situation back at the London temple starts to spiral out of control. Greenwood's ability to blend humor with mystery is on full display here. Ani and Nik’s banter is as sharp and witty as ever, keeping you entertained while the plot twists keep you on the edge of your seat. The characters are so vividly drawn that you feel like you're right there with them, navigating the chaos and uncovering secrets.
"Secrets Of The Chosen" is another fantastic installment in "The Apprentice of Anubis" series, packed with all the intrigue, humor, and unexpected turns you’ve come to expect from Laura Greenwood. If you love a good mystery wrapped in mythology with a side of sass, this book is definitely for you. Buckle up, because Ani and Nik are about to take you on another unforgettable ride!
Priestess of The Tombs Oh, if you thought Ani and Nik were done with their adventures, think again! In "Priestess of The Tombs," book #5 of "The Apprentice of Anubis" series, our beloved duo and their companion apprentices finally get ordained. But don't think for a second that this means a smooth ride from here on out. The temple's undercurrent of corruption is thicker than ever, and it's about time the Temple of Ma’at stepped in with a much-needed audit. Amidst the chaos, Ani and Nik are assigned new living quarters, and their relationship takes a turn towards something more permanent. Laura Greenwood's signature style shines through as she masterfully insinuates rather than spells out the spice between them—quite a departure from some of her steamier books—but trust me, the sweet, intense connection between Ani and Nik will have you hooked. This series might be YA-friendly, but don’t let that fool you. The constant twists and turns in the plot are enough to keep any adult entertained. Greenwood’s talent for blending mystery, romance, and mythology is unmatched, and "Priestess Of The Tombs" is no exception. The stakes are high, the suspense is palpable, and the characters are as delightful as ever. I can't wait to see what the final twist will bring to the temple and its inhabitants. If you haven’t jumped on "The Apprentice of Anubis" train yet, what are you waiting for? This book—and the whole series—is an absolute must-read. Buckle up, because Ani and Nik are about to take you on another wild, unforgettable ride!
Creator of the Curse Oh, the drama continues! In "Creator of the Curse," book 6 of "The Apprentice of Anubis" series, Laura Greenwood once again proves she's the queen of fantasy intrigue. The temple is in absolute disarray as the ongoing investigation—sorry, “audit”—throws everything into chaos. With priests getting the boot left and right, it’s up to our girl Ani and the rest of the crew to hold it all together.
Ani’s juggling act just got a whole lot trickier with new, increasing responsibilities and the ever-present troubles following Nik, thanks to his dicey status as the former High Priest’s son. Add in her family drama, and you’ve got yourself another page-turner that’s impossible to put down. Greenwood’s talent for creating such a vivid, enchanting fantasy world shines brighter than ever in this installment. She hooks you with every twist and turn, leaving you begging for more. If you haven’t caught up with Ani and Nik’s adventures yet, you’re seriously missing out. Buckle up, because book #7 is on the horizon, and if "Creator of the Curse" is anything to go by, we’re in for another wild ride! Get ready to be swept off your feet and glued to the pages. Trust me, you won’t regret it!
I really enjoyed reading these books. In a different world, the Egyptians over took the Romans and their empire now runs a lot of the world. This series is set in London with temples running different parts of the city. I really enjoyed this one as it’s interesting to read about the different parts of Egyptian culture but in the UK in a modern setting. Ani and Nik are beginning to think about their relationship more as well adding some lovely twists and moments of humour to the stories.
Book 4: Secrets Of The Chosen While waiting for news from the Temple of Ma’at (judgement) on the missing bodies in their temple morgue, Nik and Ani (and Matia) are sent to represent the High Priest at a family member’s funeral in York. Though when they arrive they get the feeling they’re not that welcome and are introduced to a Blessed Apprentice, Neheb in the York temple. After initially being introduced to the York temple’s new Blessed Apprentice, Neheb, Ani finds it very difficult to speak with him to give help with training his jackal and they are suspicious of what is going on in the temple.
Book 5: Priestess Of The Tombs Tomb work and a temple audit Ani & Nik move into their priest flat with Hannu and Ibi and start working in the tombs. When they get back to the temple they find it is being audited / investigated by the temple of Ma’at (following up on the corruption they had reported) which makes doing their jobs much harder.
Book 6: Creator Of The Curse With the temple of Anubis being audited and lots priests being fired there is a staff shortage causing more work for Ani, Nik and their friends. She is then asked to run a funeral for a high ranking family, and organising every element of the mummification, tomb, funeral and feast.

4. Secrets of the Chosen This installment in the series takes Ani and Nik to another Temple of Anubis in York, where we find corruption of a different kind. I liked the change in setting and characters, and the way Ani was able to use her Blessed Sense a bit more. There were less of the mummification descriptions here as well, and more of the story plot going forward. A fun, quick, read.
5. Priestess of the Tombs The investigation of the priestesses of the Temple of Ma'at continues in this installment, resulting in some shocking and satisfying consequences at the end. I feel like the story is really picking up momentum now and I'm very interested to see where it goes. Also, wow, contraceptive techniques in Ancient Egypt were CRAZY!! It was fun and informative to learn about the different things they used when Ani went to the Temple of Bast to get some birth control before her relationship with Nik progressed further.
6. Creator of the Curse A great installment in the series. The action in the overall plot arc about the corruption in the Temple of Anubis is still very engaging, with many of the priests being fired and the remaining priests working even harder to keep things running smoothly. Ani is proving herself to be a very competent worker, and she is able to take on bigger and bigger responsibilities in the Temple. We get less of the detailed mummification processes, and more of the political aspects of how the Temple is run in this book, which is very informative and interesting.

Secrets Of The Chosen At this point, I’m beginning to suspect that Ani’s more the Investigator of Anubis than she is his priestess. A new assignment and another mystery to solve. But, between supportive friends and mentors, Ani will have it all handled just fine. I’m really enjoying this series. It’s fun to see the ways the author has blended ancient Egypt into our modern world. And no matter how history plays out there are some universal truths that are inescapable: bad guys will do bad things for bad reasons. It’s up to the good guys to bring them to justice. Priestess Of The Tombs I’m pretty much completely in love with Ani and Nik by this point. I’m enchanted by their world and thoroughly caught up in the political machinations that surround them. I’m having so much fun watching this pair learning about their duties as priests to Anubis while rooting out the corruption in his temple. I can’t wait to see where this series goes next. Creator of the Curse Ani and Nik have finally found some resolution to the corruption in Anubis’ temple, but it might have created a larger problem than anyone had foreseen. My only real complaint about this series at this point is that I desperately wish the books were longer. I’m loving these characters so much and I desperately want to know even more about them. I can’t wait to see what further adventures await them. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout.
York Temple Ritual A new adventure and mystery await Ani and Nik at the York temple. When a member of Nik's family dies, he is sent with Ani to perform the mumification ritual. As this story continues more corruption is revealed and new enemies are made. This was an exciting read, and I cannot wait till the next one.
Book 5: Priestess Of the Tombs - 5 stars
Returning Home Now that Ani and Nik have return to the London temple and are ordained, their assignment to the tombs is met with a surprise audit. Nik is inadvertently in trouble and things get chaotic. The mystery which starts in book one is finally getting some closure and it is very interesting as well as entertaining. I enjoyed the development in Nik and Ani's relationship.
Book 6: Creator of the Curse - 5 stars
Family Arrangements As the investigation continues, priests are being fired and duties are being reassigned to others who are feeling overworked. Ani and Nik must contend with family issues not only their own but a wealthy family in need of burial arrangements. I enjoyed how these two are working hard to keep the efficiency of temple duties going as well as their relationship from straining.

Secrets of the Chosen - Nik's Aunt Satiah has died, and High Priest Ahmose sends Nik and Ani to the York temple in his stead to prepare her for burial and to send her on her way to Duat. Ani and Nik don't understand why but are willing to go. While at York, the pair uncover another inconsistency about the temples of Anubis, this time a false Blessed. Priestess of the Tombs - Ani and Matia, Nik, Ibi, and Hannu are moved into a flat for junior priests, making it much nicer when the cafeteria is serving something one doesn't like. Unfortunately, when they have just finished moving all their boxes inside, they are given a new assignment: to set up a tomb for a recently deceased person. Creator of the Curse - The junior priests are currently occupied with embalming the excess number of bodies, leaving Nik to handle the incinerator duties. Ani is feeling pressure when tasked to organize a funeral for a well-known family. Fortunately, with Nik's assistance, the funeral proceeds smoothly. These three quick reads include the shortcomings of humanity, action, and romance, each ending with a cliffhanger. Very highly recommended.

I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review. Secrets of the Chosen (4) It seams that there are test from Anubis. I think they both passed. Very interesting story though. I was thinking about some of the things in this story before I read it. You know “What if's”. I loved it. Well done. Priestess of the Tomb (5) I am so glad the author has decided to go with smaller stories than just three larger books. It gives us a better understanding of just what is going on and how it happened. I like the way the other Priests who have been with the class from the being are there to help when needed. It is a camaraderie of the whole class. Excellent story. I look forward to the next to see just how things will change. Creator of the Curse (6) So much turmoil in the Temple. Not enough help or teachers. Ma’at has come in a let them go because of the corruption in the Temple. The young priest has had to take on a larger roll to help ease the passing of loved ones. Stress is high and everyone is running on nerves. Loved the story.
The Apprentice of Anubis Volume 2 (Books4-6) by Laura Greenwood is an Egyptian mythology paranormal romance boxset. I really love this series by Laura Greenwood. It is unique and full of romance and action. Whether you are new to the series or a long time fan it is nice to have the books together. The books are book 4 Secrets of the Chosen where we visit another temple in York. This was great for a new setting and characters for Ani and Nik. Book 5 Priestess of the Tombs here we continue the Temple of Ma’at and investigations there. We also visit Temple Bast. I love how much information we learned about the Egyptians in this book. Book 6 Creator of the Curse is all about corruption in the Temple of Anubis. A lot of politics are learned in this one. Great stories and I so recommend them.
We are back with Ani and Nik in books four through six of The Apprentice of Anubis series. I like how the author has combined three short stories into one collection and I love the author's modern twist on Egyptian Mythology. In this trio of stories Ani and Nik uncover temple secrets, learn about being priests and the corruption in the temple, and fall for each other along the way. I originally read and reviewed each book as they came out but I loved rereading them all in one box set. I recommend this series and this author's writing to everyone who loves to read. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
This is a collection of books 4-6 in this paranormal series with an Ancient Egypt theme in the modern world. The books are best read in order, so pick up the previous collection before starting this one.
The stories are well written, easy to read and filled with bits of humor that help keep things occasionally lighten the mood. Both the characters and setting are well developed and fun. I have to admit that I liked the setting so much that it occasionally distracted me from the action itself. Overall, a great series and this collection provides a great continuation.
Highly recommended.

In this set, Ani has become more use to being a Blessed but her and Nik still seem to be able to find trouble so easily. From issues from their traveling to another temple to the whole Ma'at audit Ani, Nik and their friends must rise rise and deal with so much more then just being a typical priest. But their various troubles make for a great read. These are easy readable stories that made me laugh and enjoy watching Ani come into herself and her power.
This next boxed set sees Ani, Nik and the others are now priests and priestesses and are assigned a 4-bedroom flat. Shortly after moving in Ani and Nik are tasked with setting up a tomb for a newly deceased but of course nothing goes right, and Nik is in trouble again! Ani and Nik's romance is also continuing and is very sweet.

I enjoy box sets because you don’t have to wait for the next book. Books 4 to 6 have everything in it. Ma’at’s priest are investigating the thefts and wrong doings. Nik is accused of stealing and even though they can prove his innocence his father will not help out. Priest are fired and many changes are taking place. I like Hori, he is trying to make things better. This is a good series and easy to read.

Books 4-6 - Must Have! If you read the first three books you must have the next set; books 4-6. I was able to read these individually and I’m in love with this series. Murder. Mystery. Romance. Espionage. Suspense. This next set will only enable the thirst for more. The authors blurb about this make believe world is written in all her books because it is fiction. I highly recommend this series.

This is the 2nd set in the series and to get the best out of it please read the first set books 1-3. I really enjoyed this set of books it follows the lives of 2 characters and what they get up to. It is a mystery combined with a slow build, fade to black romance. Loving the characters and seeing their personalities grow.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Like the first collection, Egyptian mythology is the basis of this story. I love that the sacred world is not perfect, but there are many priests who try to do the best in every situation. This is the perfect story for anyone who likes the interweaving of Egyptian culture and a touch of magic. I highly recommend it.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I love that Ani is growing a bit more in her skills. And maybe her confidence but I think others still see her skills better than she does. The romance with her and Nik is slowly building and they still manage to get themselves into plenty of trouble, or cause plenty of trouble.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I'm glad Ani and Nik are now dating. I like how they find more corruption and how they weather the upheaval at the temple during the investigation. I liked the results of the investigation.
Ani and Nik are working closely together. They report what occurs in the temple. It effects their family and those who work closely with them. It is a wonderful combination of old Egypt and the modern world.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Ani's training continues as romance is blossoming. The intrigues and politics of the temple had me turning the pages. I enjoyed these stories as secrets are uncovered and more mythology is revealed. I received an arc of the book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was yet another interesting addition to this series that sees Ani and Nik solve more enthralling mysteries. The relationship between Ani and Nik is nicely done.
