Book 10:
Trailblazer is not anything that Ani ever wanted to be, but as more and more time in Egypt passes she sees that’s exactly what she is. Such a Hugh thing when all she ever wanted was to serve Anubis and help the dead pass on, but then that’s most likely exactly why she was Blessed in the first place.
This book has a lot of procedural things. Prepping for the funeral, temple politics both good and bad. There are brief respite where we see Ani with her friends and Nik. However this mostly feels like a transitional book. Where we are going through all this as a set up to the next phase in the life of Ani and Nik. That doesn’t detract from this being a good read by any means whatsoever. I find the process of mummification and how the very ancient is mixed with the modern fascinating.
There is also a sadness to this story as we are not only dealing with the business side with Ani, but her compassion for the grief of Iset having lost her father. I think we can all relate to the pain of that grief and hopefully the kindness that someone showed us the way that Ani shows kindness to Iset.
A wonderful story of love and loss. I’m incredibly impressed with the attention to detail of the Ancient Egyptian rites and practices. Just a great story and a doozy of a surprise at the end.

Book11:
Ani thought all the commotion would be over once the Pharaoh was buried and she’d be able to go home. That’s not the case. Since she befriended the new Pharaoh she’s now caught up in more court proceedings and politics her least favorite things. Such a journey she’s had in such a short time a year and a half as a priestess.
This book was more about pomp and the circumstances and events that surround the crowning of a new pharaoh rather than the embalming and usual drama of a temple. There was still plenty of intrigue and even a bit of fun in between formalities. A departure for sure but a wonderful look at another side of life for an important priestess.

Book12:
Ani and Nik are back from Egypt and there’s no rest for the wicked. They’ve tons to do and the paperwork is overflowing lol. Ani is asked to lead a funeral and has a team to oversee which makes her nervous. Being a Blessed Priestess doesn’t mean you’ve without insecurities especially when you’re just twenty one. Aside from temple goings on there’s a happy event to celebrate. The wedding is finally here! I enjoyed the elegant simplicity of the ceremony and celebration. Their work as priests continues with a new added twist and their family life is settling in. What’s next for our brave and loving duo? Anubis alone knows.
What a wonderful story. A great blend of work and personal experiences. And the long awaited wedding yay! I’m excited to see what this new job of theirs might be and where it might take them. So excited for the next book!.

Review for all 3 books in the box set:

10. Procession of the King
I'm really enjoying the direction of this arc in the series. Throughout the final preparations for the Pharaoh's funeral we see Ani's status elevated even more due to her burgeoning friendship with the Crown Princess / new Pharaoh, Iset. Iset's character continues to enthrall me, and I'd love to read more about her (she has her own book, Crown of Grief, that I will read next). During the funeral procession, I found the idea of professional mourners to be fascinating. They get hired, then train and practice how to effectively mourn during a funeral. What a strange concept nowadays. It was also interesting to note that the other Blessed jakals were not behaving as well as Matia, and did not seem to have as close of a bond as Ani and Matia. I wonder if this means something more for Ani's Blessed status - is she a particularly special Blessed? I'm looking forward to finding out more about that as well as about Nik's potential Favored Test and what that may involve.

11. Court of the Queen
I continue loving this plot-arc with Ani and Nik in Egypt. The burgeoning friendship between Ani and Crown Princess Iset is lovely as they are both characters I enjoy learning more about. The inevitable public meet-up with Prince Ramesses happens here as well, and while it was not a fun time for Ani, it didn't blow up as much as I expected that it might. When Ani gets sick, she has a great quote: "Stop using logic on me, I'm sick." Oh, that we could all use that line! Nik has a serious conversation with Ani about whether she actually enjoys the prestige of being Blessed, as she tends to say that she doesn't, but then she does enjoy the power and influence she has gained. It's an interesting balance for Ani, as we've seen her quickly move up through the ranks in the Temple of Anubis right from the beginning of the series, but she hasn't become corrupt like a lot of people gaining power too quickly might become. Ani also learns the importance of delegating in this book, and I'm sure we'll see more of this in the next book when she returns home to London.

12. Assistant of the Gods
A solid installment in the series. Both the beginning and the end of the book had me enthralled, while the middle was a bit less engaging (haha, with the wedding, see what I did there). It was great to see Ani and Nik back in their home Temple of Anubis in London, and to see them interacting with characters we haven't seen in a while. The chapters surrounding the wedding were clearly well-researched and were cute and innocent to read, but that part just wasn't my favorite. I'm very excited to read the next book when it comes out, and to see what will happen with Ani and Nik's new roles and responsibilities. Where will they go next?

"Procession of the King" (Book #10)
Following where we left off, Ani and Nik are still in Egypt, knee-deep in preparations for a grand royal funeral. But Ani, being her ever-curious self, isn't just going to stick to her duties. Her honesty and innocence attract people like a magnet, and this time, she's pulling in jealousy from her fellow priests, respect, and an unexpected friendship. Navigating the stormy waters of temple and palace politics, Ani finds new allies in the most surprising places. As always, Greenwood’s ability to blend ancient Egyptian lore with the modern world is nothing short of magical and utterly entertaining.

"Court of the Queen" (Book #11)
With new friendships and alliances in tow, Ani and Nik find themselves invited to the coronation of the new Pharaoh, extending their stay in Egypt. They nurture their friendship with the new Queen while dodging her brother, the Crown Prince. Their Egyptian adventure delays plans for their new house and future wedding, but who’s complaining? Greenwood keeps the story vibrant with her signature touches of humor, even when things get serious. The plot is so fluid and engaging, it’s impossible to put down—expect to read this in one sitting!

"Assistant of the Gods" (Book #12)
Alright, Urban Fantasy fans, buckle up! Laura Greenwood has done it again with "Assistant of the Gods." Our beloved trio, Ani, Nik, and the ever-adorable Matia, finally return from Egypt, draped in new responsibilities and honors. With wedding bells on the horizon, you’d think they'd get a break, right? Think again! Just as you think they’re catching a breather, Greenwood throws a curveball that plunges everything into chaos. Surprises are back, and we’re once again left guessing what wild twist awaits next.

Ani and Nik have grown leaps and bounds from their initial awkward encounters, and their chemistry is sizzling. But don’t be fooled—this isn’t just a love story. It’s an action-packed, laugh-out-loud Urban Fantasy that keeps you on the edge of your seat. If you haven't picked up this series yet, what are you even doing? "Assistant of the Gods" will keep you entertained and hooked from start to finish. Laura Greenwood, you've outdone yourself—again!

Overall Verdict:
Laura Greenwood’s "The Apprentice of Anubis Volume 4" is a must-read, jam-packed with intrigue, humor, and sizzling romance. Ani and Nik’s adventures in ancient Egypt are a delightful escape that you won't want to miss. Whether you’re a seasoned fan or new to the series, these books will keep you turning pages well into the night. Highly recommended!

Navigating Court Politics

I really enjoyed reading these books. In a different world, the Egyptians over took the Romans and their empire now runs a lot of the world. This series is set in Egypt & London with temples running different parts of the city.
The characters are well written and I liked reading about Ani, Nik and Matia with their friends and the humor throughout the book. I enjoyed this as it’s interesting to read about the different parts of Egyptian culture, rituals and traditions but in a modern setting. I hope there are more to come in the series.

Book 10: Procession Of The King (The Apprentice Of Anubis #1...
Ani and Matia are still in Egypt with Nik, working with the other Blessed priests in preparing the Pharaoh for his burial. Ani is finding there are plenty of temple politics and intrigue to deal with and a number of the other priests dislike her due to her age (and being a woman), though she's helped by Princess Iset due to their friendship.

Book 11: Court Of The Queen (The Apprentice Of Anubis #11)
Ani and Nik are great characters, working really well together. Following the Pharaoh's burial they had hoped to return to London but Ani's befriended the new Pharaoh and is caught up in more court politics surrounding Iset's coronation, before she can leave Egypt. But there are problems with Ramesses around again, still upset after she ended their relationship, and growing tension with the Blessed High Priest of Anubis who dislikes Ani's rising influence with Iset.

Book 12: Assistant Of The Gods (The Apprentice Of Anubis #12)
Following on from the coronation of Iset as the new Pharaoh, Ani and Nik are able to come back to London. Though she has new honors and titles, from her friendship with Iset, Ani just wants to return to her work in the temple. When she's asked to oversee a funeral for a wealthy family she's encouraged to have two new apprentices to help; particularly with Nik busy planning their wedding and preparing for his Favoured test.

Procession of the King - Ani and Nik are in Egypt preparing for the Pharaoh's interment. Ani finds herself in charge of the many animal mummifications, which has a lot of the other Blessed of Anubis talking about her. What makes it worse is that Princess Iset, the future Pharaoh, speaks with Ani more than once. Ani can't wait to travel back to London but finds that she needs to stay in Cairo longer.
Court of the Queen - Ani doesn't know why the High Blessed dislikes her, but she deals with it in the only way she knows how, by spending time with Nik and Matia. Things get weirder when Iset, now the Pharaoh, gives Ani an estate in Egypt and names her Favoured of the Pharaoh, even though she is only 21 years old. A tired Ani is thrilled when it is time to return to London.
Assistant of the Gods - Ani is surprised when High Priest Horn tells her that someone asked for her services for mummification and funeral. The family wants the best for their beloved grandmother and believes a Blessed Priestess is the best. And Ani and Nik finally get to move into their house!
These three quick reads include the shortcomings of humanity, action, and romance, each ending with a cliffhanger. Very highly recommended.

Procession of the King:
Ani and Nik are still in Egypt after the death of the King and the mummification is almost complete. Ani deals with a lot in this book but she's determined. I loved reading about the mummification process and everything that went with it, it intrigued me. Procession of the King is a fabulous addition to The Apprentice of Anubis series and I love the author's take on Egyptian Mythology. I look forward to reading the next book to find out what happens next for Ani and Nik.
Court of the Queen:
Ani and Nik are back in book eleven of The Apprentice of Anubis series and these two go through a lot in this book. From Ani's relationship with the new Pharaoh and the Prince Ramesse situation to Ani and Nik's sweet romance and the unexpected twists and turns along the way this is a great addition to the series.
Assistant of the Gods:
Ani and Nik are back in Assistant of the Gods and these two are back in London with a lot to do. From planning their wedding to overseeing a funeral and so much more these two are very busy. This is a well written, Ancient Egyptian, paranormal romance with a great storyline, humor, well developed characters and so much more. I recommend this book, this series, and this author to everyone who loves to read.

Book 10: Procession Of the King - 5 stars
Overcoming Hardships

While the burial rites of the Pharaoh are being finalized Ani is having to deal with the other blessed priests dislike of her. Someone is out to sabotage her efforts and progress, but she has a wonderful support system from Nik, Matia and friends. While it is a shame that her wedding plans with Nik have been postponed it was fantastic to read about her overcoming her struggles.

Book 11: Court Of the Queen - 5stars
Egyptian court politics is not what Ani signed up for and just when she thinks she will be returning home, she is asked to stay. Her new position and genuine personality is surprising to most who keep thinking she is trying to win favor of the new Pharoah. This was an interesting book with surprising elements but Her relationship with Nik and Matia made this read even better. Can't wait till the next one in the series.

Book 12: Assistant Of the Gods - 5 stars
Wedding Day Has Arrived

More lighthearted than the previous books, there are no dangers this time only a wedding to plan and a busy life to resume now that they have returned to the London temple. This was a short but interesting read, and the end was a great introduction to the next installment in the series.

Procession Of The King
It feels like the political intrigues are swirling faster and deeper around Ani than ever before. While all that’s going on around her, it's not changing the sweet, loyal person she is in her heart. The steadfast dedication of Nik and Matia to her are proof of that. But, will the princess’s favor help or hinder Ani’s work? I’m so in love with this series and I already can’t wait to see what will happen next.
Court Of The Queen
I adore Ani, Nik, and Matia, and I am loving watching their continuing adventures. I’m not quite sure what this one is setting up for their future, as Ani’s work ethic and generosity of spirit get recognized and rewarded by the new Pharoah. I can’t wait to see what the author has up her sleeve for us next. Fingers crossed it’s a wedding.
Assistant Of The Gods
There is a lot going on in this little book, and I’m a bit reluctant to talk about any of it for fear of giving away all the best parts. (You probably already know what I’m going to say, but I can’t think of any part of this book that I wouldn’t include in the “best parts.”) Ani and Nik’s future is wide open from here and I am so anxious to learn what they’ll be up to next.

This is a collection of 3 books in the Apprentice of Anubis series: Procession of the King, Court of the Queen, and Assistant of the Gods. It begins with Ani and Nik still in Egypt, participating in the dead Pharoah's last funerary rites, and continues with the deepening of Ani's relationship with the new Pharoah-to-be. This is followed by Ani's extending her stay in Egypt as she is asked to stay and be part of the new Pharoah's coronation. And last but not least, Ani's and Nik's return to England, as they settle back into their roles in the London Temple of Anubis and prepare for their wedding. If you like Ancient Egypt, you'll really enjoy this series, as it takes place in an alternate reality where Egypt becomes a world power. There's a mix of Ancient Egypt and modern reality, and it's nicely done. The main characters, Ani and Nik, are really likeable and are fun to follow. I received an ARC copy of this book, but the opinions expressed are solely my own.

The Apprentice Of Anubis (Volume 4 (Books 10-12) The Apprentice Of Anubis) by Laura Greenwood is an Egyptian mythology paranormal romance three box set. This boxset covers books 10-12 of the series. I really enjoyed this series as it delves into Egyptian mythology and what it would be like if things were different in history.

Book 10 Procession of the King- This book deals a lot with the mummification process of the deceased king. Ani deals with a lot of other things but the most interesting is learning about the mummification process.

Book 11 Court of the Queen- Ani and Nik’s relationship continues to develop. They also have a lot to deal with upon their return. This includes the new Pharaoh and the Prince Ramesse situation.

Book 12 Assistant of the Gods-another busy book. Wedding bells are coming for Nik and Ani. She also has a funeral to plan and many more responsibilities.

As always another great book set by Laura Greenwood.

Procession Of The King (10)
WOW! Ani just keeps on receiving notice though she does not want it. She is one who does not forget the feelings of the living. I love these stories so much.
Court of the Queen (11)
Ani and her ability to make higher ups like her or dislike her. Some laughs, some embarrassing moments. Good story. I enjoyed it very much.
Assistant of the Gods (12)
Awesome. I loved it. I enjoy the way the two work together. One is gathering information and the other is overwhelming to most. Ani just by being herself can overwhelm others just because she believes in Anubis and her job to help. She does not lie and often will not say anything instead of lying about it.

This is a collection of books 10-12 in this paranormal series with an Ancient Egypt theme in the modern world. The books are best read in order, so pick up the previous collection before starting this one.

The stories are well written, easy to read and filled with bits of humor that help keep things occasionally lighten the mood. Both the characters and setting are well developed and fun. I have to admit that I liked the setting so much that it occasionally distracted me from the action itself. Overall, a great series and this collection provides a great continuation.

Highly recommended.

Continued Journey.
Ani’s journey isn’t finished. We have to know what’s next. If you read the series of 9 books so far - don’t stop! You must have the next set; books 10-12. I was able to read these individually and I’m in love with this series. Murder. Mystery. Romance. Espionage. Suspense. This next set will only make you crave more. The authors blurb about this make believe world is written in all her books because it is fiction. I highly recommend this series.

This series is really hitting it's stride. As is Ani. For how uncomfortable she is when it's just her and Nik she clearly doing well. She is proving to be a good leader.. Though not everyone likes her, because females are gross, she is adept at tripping into friendships with powerful people. I like that there was some non-work fun in this set and I always love seeing Matia.
