Veronica Davis is a woman with a desperate need. If she doesn't bring a date to her big sister's wedding, the L — for loser — that's imprinted on her forehead will become permanent, as far as her family is concerned. And heck, she's started to believe it, herself.
Why else would a girl end up at a Los Angeles escort agency with the strange acronym of V.A.M.P. Inc? Where you pick your date from a row of coffins in the agency's basement. Guys who can't meet you at lunch time, due to the fact that they sleep until sundown.
You know . . . . vampires.
And when she meets the unearthly handsome Christopher, the agency's odd acronym begins to take on a whole new meaning. Tackling her sister's wedding actually starts to seem like a piece of cake . . .

Hi readers! My new novella "Veronica and the Vampire" is pure fluffy, "girly" fun. I've dedicated this book to everyone who has ever "dated" and remembers this process (fondly or otherwise). Maybe some of those dates seemed other-worldy, too? We just didn't know for sure who might show up?
ha.
I've packed this book with tons of good Karma for those of us who do remember those times, all too well...
Veronica is trying to fight her insecurities as any other woman does and also trying to find a solution for her problems. Christopher is WOW, through the story I don't see him as a vampire but as an amazing guy who would do anything for his mate. Story is light, fluffy, funny and I enjoyed it immensely. I found picking a date from a row of coffins only seeing a picture of the guys an amazing idea. Didn't expect that one and it's refreshing. My only complaint is that I wanted more, wanted to see Christopher's POV which is a compliment to writer. I would like to see who the other guys are and how they meet their mates. Definitely worth more than 99c.

Veronica has to get a date to her evil sister's wedding or she'll never hear the end of it, so she does what she never thought she'd do, hire and escort. Her co-worker directs her to V.A.M.P. Inc, and when she gets there she's guided to 8 coffins with pictures on top, she's about to bolt ( she's not into the Hollywood gimmick dating ) but gives the coffins a polite go to not upset the saleslady.
The picture of the guy in coffin three gets her blood pumping and she can't help but be drawn to the guys and she reluctantly says yes to hire Christian dale as her escort for the wedding. Next evening Christian arrives to take her to the evening wedding and the attraction is instant, undeniable and bloody hell, hot! Focusing on keeping her legs crossed the pair takes to the limo. Sure the guy insist being a vampire - though being very modest about it but not packing out of it - and Veronica tries to get him to take his fangs off, so they won't spoil the wedding.
As it turns out, the fangs aren't fake, neither is Christian and most certainly neither is the lust boiling between them... there is more than dating going on, but only he knows what it is.
This book was an absolute joy to read! Veronica and the Vampire is fun, witty, sexy and sweet at the same time! I loved how easy and fun this was to read, I loved Veronica's cheerfully quirky attitude and her downright freak-outs about the wedding.
I loved how Christian didn't have to do much to be her rock and her hard place, ummm bun intended. ;) I loved how he wasn't overly moody vampire, he was a guy looking for a girl and when he finally found her he just seemed happy ( yay! for the lack of angsty vamp for a while! ), and well… sizzlingly sexy while being happy. ;)
The story was interesting, veronica was genuinely upset because of her family, it didn't feel fluffy or superficial panic but down to the core kind of unease, very well done. Her sister really was a bitch and the wedding horrifying to Veronica even though she had Christian by her side.
This 90 page book didn't have a dull moment in it! The story was fast-pace, interesting, well put together and had plenty of action be it confrontation, sexual tension or a amusing meltdown. I would categorize this as a sweet romance as it didn't have sex in it - but it sure was a hot read with Veronica's urges to jump Christian's bones quite adamant.
You'll like this if... you like your romances sweet, filled with sexual tension, funny and witty in the Chic-Lit style and with a powerful, hot, vampire to boot.
This is a quick, cute lunch time read sure to send you back to your desk with a smile on your face and a chuckle in your heart. This is not rocket science it is pure brain candy. Absolutely adorable.
Veronica Davis needs a date for her sister’s wedding. She comes from a judgmental family and dares not show up alone. A co-worker sends her to an escort service V.A.M.P. Inc. where you pick your date from a row of coffins in the agency's basement. Who knew they we really vampires. But heck maybe that’s exactly what you need to get through the wedding from hell.
If you have ever had days when you're in need of a smile, for whatever reason, pick up one of Linda Thomas-Sundstrom's rarer lighthearted books. "Veronica and the Vampire," a 29,000 word novella, is full of fun, from the agency Veronica hits to hire herself a date, to the antics at the wedding she takes him to. Thomas-Sundstrom says on various book sites that this story is pure fluff, and as light as cotton-candy. Yep. And because of those things, this book sucked me right in.
It was a cute fluffy romance, nothing much more to say.
I liked the scenes where she dealt with her family, I wish there had been more, or that they had been more in-depth since since they were quite funny. I kind of wish that there had been more reason to the romance, but that's not what kind of book this was, but I enjoyed it none the less.
This was just the book I needed after a not to good weekend! It's a pick-me-up, put a smile on your face kind of book that has some fun loving characters (and one evil incarnate one, but you'll have to read it yourself to find out about that one) that draw you right in to their world. Don't miss this one!
This is a great summer read. Grab a drink and sit back and relaxe with this funny, light hearted Book. Add a little steam and this is a home run. Ever have a bad day or just need a pick-me-up. This book will do it. I loved it and it was the perfect lenght.
Short, sweet, funny, and a great read on a cold night bundled up on the sofa with a warm blanket. This is a "feel good book" where you walk away with a little extra bounce in your step.
sooooo cute! Read this in one night after finishing one of Thomas-Sundstrom's darker books. This is light and fun and not in any way serious. Just goofy. I wish there was another one.
Veronica has to get a date to her evil sister's wedding or her judgemental family will never let her live it down. So when her co-worker directs her to V.A.M.P. Inc she reluctantly gives into the pressure to find a date. Once there she's not only perplexed by the agencies strange acronym but she's also guided to the agency basement to 8 coffins with pictures on top. She believes the whole vampire bit is just a gimmick but starts to rethink that once she meets Christopher, which she is inexplicably and instantaneously attracted to.
I really enjoyed reading about Veronica and her hunky vampire. This was a quick fun read with lots of laugh out loud worthy humor. It was really nice to read something fun and light without too much drama or without being overly erotic. I found myself smiling throughout most of the book and thinking about who I think the handsome Christopher may look like. I think this was the perfect summer read for me and I am very happy to have read it.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who's looking for a quick fun read and a good laugh with a sprinkling of paranormal.
**I received this book in exchange for a honest review**
Veronica and the Vampire I found to be a great short story. I'd recommend it to my family and friends to read. Keeping me on my toes throughout and ended with me wanting more. Great Job! Linda Thomas-Sundstrom
This story was a fun read and I loved the premise of a vampire escort service, but this story left too many loose threads hanging for my liking. I think there was a lot to unpack, especially regarding Charlene and her knowledge of the agency. I also would have enjoyed meeting some of the other vampires, or at least knowing it’s an option with future books.
I felt immense empathy for Veronica, not because she is single and must resort to the undead for a date to her sister’s wedding, but because her family is that horrible that Veronica showing up dateless would be considered unacceptable in their eyes. Personally, she should tell them all where to stick it while turning up the volume on her middle finger.
Of course, no vampire escort agency will have ugly vampires to present to their clients and Christian is swoon worthy in looks and physique. The sexual tension and chemistry between Veronica and Christian is white-hot and I would have voted to skip the wedding entirely and explore that all over the place.
My Final Verdict: Though this was a fast read and I liked this story, I wish it had been a little longer. I recommend this book to fans of paranormal romances, especially those involving vampires.
The cover is adorable and the blurb is well done, I was genuinely interested in the story presented so I bought it. Unfortunately, that's $0.99 I am never getting back. It has virtually no actual story development beyond the asinine and truly painful rambling inner monologue from MC Veronica. I was super annoyed by the 4th page and ready to just chuck it by "Chapter" 3. I should have read reviews before purchasing....
It is pure, fluffy, girly fun when you like books where a woman completely looses her mind when she in a proximity of a hot guy. And no, not loosing her mind because he is a vamp and has some powers over her but because she is so turned on that she can't think straight. Yeah rrrrrriiiiiiight! Oh, and the whole book (novella) is loaded with main character double guessing, trying to convince herself, just being not sure, constantly going on and on about how terrible her family was to her and saying that if someone met her family they would understand. Well we do meet her family briefly, and I still don't get it why she is so insecure and afraid of them. So that was mighty annoying, because of the story we get constant whining.... and inability to accept that the guy is a real vampire. But wait, I think I know why! She is so turned on that she can't think straight!
Ok, so it's a novella but there still wasn't much of a story. First third was spent convincing herself that she DOES need to go in and get herself a paid date. The other two thirds (and I looked at my Kindle percentage) were spent with more whining, except here she was also trying to justify dating a vampire and not wanting to get bitter. Honestly, for all the sexual tension between them I would have at least expected some hanky panky, but no, it wasn't there either.
I gave it 3 stars because the book is very well written and reads in on breath, but it didn't get higher rating because of WHAT it was written about.
This is at best only a first chapter, not a whole story. Veronica is a twenty three year old law clerk needing a date for her sister's wedding. A coworker sends her to an escort service to solve her problem. The escort service helps connect her with Christian, a vampire. Lust ensues. They barely make it to the wedding, and the book is over. What?! The over emphasis on sex makes it almost pornographic. I am not a prude, I've been reading bodice rippers since eighth grade. There's more to desire than was presented in this story. There's no build up. We're right at wet panties. Boring. I'm a supporter of self publishing. I understand it's hard to publish the traditional route and this is much easier. However, I'd like to read completed stories not a synopsis. I have questions: why didn't she talk to the coworker after her visit to the escort service on her lunch break? I would have cornered her in the bathroom as soon as I got back to work. Why does she have so many issues with her family? She says she does, but not what they are and how the problems evolved. Now for a spoiler alert! She doesn't really cover why Christian had to step out, mid ceremony. What about the reception? It ends awkwardly, and tries so hard to be sexually charged. I would like to suggest this is more a masturbation fantasy, an overly long letter to Penthouse forum, than a readable story.
This was a very light, easy read. I wish the story had been longer. If she doesn't bring a date to her big sister's wedding, the L for loser that's imprinted on her forehead will become permanent, as far as her family is concerned. And heck, she's started to believe it, herself.

This is a really cute and fun story. Veronica is going to attend her sister's wedding. Her sister hates her and the rest of her family are always picking on her. She needs a date and goes to a place which is sort of a rent-a-date facility.
Except the dates are in coffins with a photo and their biography by the coffin. Veronica is drawn strongly to one in particular and from there on the fun begins. This is an extremely erotic novel, VERY erotic. It does not, though, cross the line at all into pornographic. It's the funniest and most erotic vampire-related book I have ever read.
What a cute story, kept me in stiches. Linda has done an amazing humanization in Veronica. You can relate to her feelings and insights and laugh along with her in her dilemma.. I'm keeping this on my shelve to go back and reread when I need a good chuckle.
I really liked the story, but it really needs editing. Plus, there were so many times that, in the middle of a conversation, there was so much back-story or internal monologuing that by the time someone talked again, I forgot what was going on. So annoying.
Good concept, but not executed well. It could have made a good book with the premise, but it was a short story and the main character was a little too easily distracted.
A very delicious small read. I wish the book had been a bit more in length but at the same time I think this was enough to satisfy my need for vampire romance and lust.
