Lexa Luthor

Lexa Luthor is an avid writer and reader of the Omegaverse trope especially including F/F pairing. In her books, each main character(s) is a strong-willed female, who navigates difficult situations but always ends up finding love with their mate. Every tale has a twist and is gripping, sexy, and even a bit adventurous.

When not writing, Lexa enjoys binge watching television shows like Game of Thrones, Gentleman Jack, or The L Word. Her other favorite hobbies are playing cornhole, rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs, and laying around the pool in the summer. At times, Lexa finds time to read romances (both dark and fluffy) and great sci-fi books but nothing else can beat a steamy, downright erotic F/F romance with biting, knotting, and slightly possessive love.

I can’t wait for Charlie and Kal to kill the Sworne so everyone can get their happy ending.

CHARACTER IMPRESSIONS:
Charlie and Kal
Charlie’s so different from who she was compared to the first book. I couldn’t stop cheering for her throughout the story. My favorite thing about Charlie in this book is how she recognized and accepted the parts of herself she hated, because those parts of her are the stepping stones that will lead her to finding happiness. After what she went through in this story, I hope she gets everything she wants in the final book.

I never brought it up in my reviews of the previous books, but I love how sex positive Charlie is. The woman doesn’t shy away from being demanding, needy, or submissive. She’s always encouraging Kal to embrace her wants and needs in bed as well, never downplaying or ignoring what makes Kal uncomfortable. Whether they want to be closer or are just horny, the two of them always make sure to have consent from each other first and that’s the hottest thing ever.

I love the small moments of Sumner peeking out of Kal in this story. She’s finally starting to think of a future beyond being High Commander, and I hope to Kalatas, it’s something she can get in the next book. I absolutely adore the minor moments where her playfulness shows. Even though she’s carrying the weight of a war on her shoulders, she still finds time for Charlie and their group of friends. Page 233 caught me by surprise and all it showed me is that Charlie and Sumner’s love really is greater than the gods themselves. I can’t wait for this war to be over so they can truly be together.

MINOR CHARACTERS:
This series has some of the best depictions of friendship I’ve ever read. Everyone is ready and willing to risk their lives to be there for Charlie and Kal and vice versa. Charlie is so loved and supported, it’s no wonder she’s willing to do everything in her power to save Kander and the people in it.

Raine and Andren. These two are so freaking cute together, but of course, I always want more. I’m sure they’re flirting and teasing each other when Charlie isn’t around to witness it, which means I can’t witness it either.

Starr. One of the best late additions to the group. I love her arrogant confidence and I’m living for her banter with Charlie. She doesn’t sugar coat anything, says exactly what she’s thinking, disagrees with Charlie without restraint yet still has Charlie’s back no matter what. I wished she had joined sooner but she already fits so well in the group’s dynamic. I also can’t believe how easily this woman crushes on married women. First Fairlee and now Ru? Starr is going to be a troublemaker if she ever gets a love life. I love how she finds every opportunity to show off her muscles for no reason at all. I hope she gets to spend time with her loving mother when the war is over.

Dorlon and Laken. Not an official couple, but I have my hopes up. Dorlon deserves the fucking world. There’s never enough of Laken, but from what is shown about her so far, she could be a perfect fit in Dorlon’s life.

Talyn. This man stepped up!

Ru Steiner. I was not expecting her to need help from Charlie in the way she did, and I hope she gets what she wants because she would fit perfectly in Kander.

Kalatas and the Omega God. It’s nice to finally be shown directly that the gods really do care. I am rooting for this mysterious Omega god to help in the fight somehow.

STORY IMPRESSIONS:
The plan to get rid of Omnis-sar and all the Sworne seems almost impossible, but I can’t wait to see how it’s going to follow through. Despite how important the mission is, I love the heartache of Sumner not wanting Charlie to take it on, even though they both know she has to for everyone’s sake. If they succeed in Book 10, maybe Kal can finally tell Omnis-sar to go fuck herself.

I hope there’s a good chunk of the aftermath in the next and final book for the series, because there’s still so much I want to see happen after the Sworne are dealt with. Will Charlie and Kal finally get married? Will they ever have a kid together? Will Kal get to draw Charlie naked? Will Dorlon finally make a move on Laken? Will Raine ever get to fire Newt? There’s also that funeral they need to attend. I hope there’s a long ass epilogue filled with wholesome moments for these characters to finally get a breather from chaos.

HIGHLIGHTS:
    * Highlight 1: “I want to help however I can. Because maybe my help is what might make the difference on this working out.” I love how this line shows how much heart Andren has for those she cares about.
    * Highlight 2: Charlie talking shit to literal gods.
    * Highlight 3: “We provide, we protect, we work, we defend, we fight…If we fail at being enough, then we have no pride in our existence.”
    * Highlight 4: It’s so funny to me how Kaden has to hop between different couples to get some sleep if they’re having sex and she doesn’t want to be in the same room. Charlie and Kal going at it? Go to Andren and Raine. Andren and Raine going at it too? Go to Talyn. If Talyn and Tas become a couple, I’m sure Starr will let Kaden sleep in her room.
    * Highlight 5: Starr having the audacity to call Andren, “Tiny guard.”
    * Highlight 6: Charlie and Kal making plans about their wedding. I hope it happens on page in the final book.
    * Highlight 7: Andren’s training coming in clutch.
    * Highlight 8: The way Starr refuses to let Raine touch her giant gun, Newt.
    * Highlight 9: Every member of the Zodiac Pack being ready to risk their lives for each other.
    * Highlight 10: That other throne room was defiled!
    * Highlight 11: “I made this choice out of love, for Kander, for my family, and for you. And maybe even a tiny bit for myself after hating me for most of my life.”
    * Highlight 12: “Where the fuck have every last one of you been?” I fucking cried-laugh at the way Charlie greeted this group.
    * Highlight 13: Charlie secretly promising Kal that she will find a way for Kal to be released from her duties when the war is over.

Well the cliffhangers are done on an expert level here.
I think it could really work in that manga-style comic way with these Omegaverse stories. This one was equal parts emotional, vulnerable, and Sci-Fi action-packed with a whole host of amazing characters. As a Sci-Fi fan, I have to say that the stories are very well balanced.
I am still hopeful that Lexa will chance that spinoff series involving Dorlon and her own soulmate because she deserves to have her own story written as well.

The adventure continues

I can hardly believe this is the NINTH book in this series. Kal & Charlie's adventures are such a joy to read and I am simply obsessed with the Zodiac pack. I laughed and cried multiple times in this book and am both excited and sad for the final book. I don't want to leave this fabulous world.

wow!

The end drove me nuts and I think I will double my blood pressure medication today. Damn this should be a never ending story and it’s quite sad that it’s ending.
