Only time will tell if they can forge a new path forward.
Malorie Cooper likes to think of herself as a dreamer and a wanderer, yet her feet are firmly grounded in reality.
A ‘maker’ from an early age, Malorie loves to craft things, from furniture, to cosplay costumes, to a well-spun tale, she can’t help but to create new things every day.
A rare extrovert writer, she loves to hang out with readers and people in general. If you meet her at a convention, she just might be rocking a catsuit, cosplaying one of her own characters, or maybe her latest favorite from Overwatch!
She shares her home with a brilliant young girl, her wonderful wife (who also writes), a cat that chirps at birds, a never-ending list of things she would like to build, and ideas…
As we ¿Lead up to a final (vs humans) showdown ? [We'll see next book], & in this book our heroes get a peek behind the (core) curtain , some hard hitting action, and all the good stuff we've come to love about this series. I noticed some particularly winning characterization moments if dialogue & such, the kind of thing that really lets us know and love the characters, and we worry with them during times of danger, whether to fleets or individuals . This (along with nice baby steps over years) also helps us go right along with them as they discover invent & accomplish more amazing/ outlandish things. Like the old adage about sufficiently advanced technology = magic.... So yeah, an excellent piece in the annals of the Orion war, from coping with serious trauma to talking tiger to monstrous multidimensional AI to, well, the title! Now, should I dive into the next one Return to Sol, or try to find some of the "new" characters and referenced events in prequels....?
Author M.D. Cooper brings us the next tale in the Orion War. Tangel has died for her family but in leaving them behind she also seprated form Tanis and Angela. They wake up to find that an Orion tug is heading for their small ship. But just as the Falconar get's close the Orion guard captures Tanis taking her into the DL. Sara is tasked with rescuing them and takes her new ship the Grace O'Malley into the DL to save them at the same time Orion is surrendering since their Pretor Kirkland has been captured by the ISF alliance. While this is going on Jessica learns that on one part of the Kap that they had left so long ago that those people created a smaller version of the I2. But she is forced to give up the system since her fleet dose not have the firepower to hold it. Through near the end Joe (Tanis's husband) comes in on an I2-class starship and pushes them attacking force back. This is a great book and I'm looking forward to reading the next in the series. I highly recommend this book and series to all science fiction fans.
Wow, after the nail biting ending of Starfire, Race Across Spacetime keeps the action going even with the turn of events in Starfire. Tanis / Angela both are again at the forefront of the action, but this time it’s a rescue in which the rescuers always seem half a step behind. In a “it’s their time to shine” moment, Earnest and Finneas take a center stage in this book instead of just secondary characters who are making things happen. They show us exactly why both of these men are so dangerous. Their longevity is revealed as is some of their backstory, but really, in a not usual for the Aeon 14 series, both these men step up front and are front and center to the action. A great and thrilling read that I couldn’t put down!
Breathtaking rescues are just that... Breathtaking!
This series has been chaotic and exhilarating as we followed the myriad of important characters all supporting equally well-defined characters through a timeline stretching for thousands of years and reaching out to other galaxies! All the while keeping us entertained and thrilled to be buying book after book (and there are a LOT of them)! Kudos to all of the authors involved in this endeavour!
This series has it all, fun characters, interesting science, space travel, AI, and lots of action. I have early been enjoying this series and the other series in this universe. I recommend this book and the series.
I'm completely hooked on these characters. The action kept me on the edge of my seat and was a thrill ride from beginning to end. Can't wait for the next book!
A rescue is in order. Tanis and Angela are no longer Tangel. You are going to have to read it to find out what happens, I am not going to spoil it for you.
It was a little confusing, but that is what you get when you play with the timey whimey. The banter is as good as and it feels good to visit this universe once more.
I’m becoming more sure that MDC has a little sadism in her. Only a sadist could build the story up like that then leave a poor reader hanging! An excellent addition to the story. Very much worth reading.
All I can say is that this book is full of action, explosion in stellar level, technologies that bordering on magic, ascended beings who are as clueless as mortal. So that's my review, can I have the next book please......
Finally we have some big reveals, new tech and some astounding surprises as the Orion War saga comes nearly to completion. Cant say any more without spoilers except any Scifi fan will love it
This was a really tense read, with lots of quite amazing events happening. Similar to other books in the series, the science presented comes across quite plausible, even if we don't know with today's tech if it is possible. Quite a few twists and turns in this, and I certainly didn't expect the resolution, which was a very good one. It was good to have a bit of focus on characters we hadn't seen much of for a little while, and some very good character interaction in here. We see a bit more of the broader picture in here, but plenty of mysteries still to be solved :)
