Maybe Summary & Analysis of Colleen Hoover's Novel
This is Maybe Summary & Analysis of Colleen Hoover's Novel and not the original. She exercises her creativity, to depict a contemporary love story. The narrative is driven by themes of love, music, love of music and thoroughly modern form of communication. Shakespeare wrote in Twelfth Night, “If music be the food of love, play on!” Music is most decidedly the food of love in this novel, and they do indeed play on -- right up until the end.
Maybe Someday was written with a definite target audience in mind. This book will appeal to older teens and young adults, particularly females. For others, it will appear somewhat similar to other love stories that they will have read in the past that deals with love triangles, and the pain, joy and complications that surround relationships. What sets it apart, however, is the unique approach that Colleen Hoover takes.
She has created a novel that incorporates music as an essential theme while, at the same time, her main male protagonist is deaf. It imbues the story with an interesting angle. The innovative touches in Maybe Someday saves the novel from being formulaic, and it is filled with wonderful emotional expressiveness.
I hated this book sooooo much. The main character gets cheated on by her partner, so she moves in with a stranger who lives in the same building who is deaf (good on her for making a relatable deaf character). The stranger she moves in with has awesome roommates and the characters were excellent, however... main character is extremely vulnerable after what shes been through and starts making music with the stranger only to find out she has developed feelings for him and he's in a serious committed relationship. Long story basically condoning cheating because "you can't help your feelings." Main character is a hypocrite and I hated this book.
My all time favourite Colleen Hoover book. The characters that Colleen creates are so relatable and draw me in from the very first chapter. I laugh, when they laugh. I cry, when they cry and i get mad when and frustrated at the characters. i would gladly give more stars, if they were available.
This book was okay until the last 100 pages. As I continued in the book I began not wanting to pick it up because it became a bit boring and repetitive to me. Until about the last 100 pages the book took a turn and I couldn’t put it down until I knew what happened. I’m interested to see how the second book goes.
I was a little doubtful about reading this book, but am so glad I did. A real secret is revealed but not at the point you expect. Lovely read, and a very different slant on life from the hard of hearing....
This book is awesome. I really love it I bought the soundtrack to hear it as I read and hearing the music and remembering what they were feeling was an awesome experience. Once again Colleen Hoover you have done a great job.
Wonderful humorous dialog among the characters. I miss having them in my head. Loved the way the main character's deafness was a main part of the story. It is aimed at a younger audience, but it was still enjoyable no matter the reader's age. 8+/10. I'll look into more Colleen Hoover books.
It was good, read this a while ago and I don't remember all that happened but I knew it was good just not what I was fully expecting when I picked it up. I remember it being good, but not one of my favorites.
I really liked this book, however, the parts I didn't like just really rubbed me the wrong way.
He essentially cheated several times. If they had played up that he was only in it to protect her cause she was so frail, I would have rooted for him more. Like maybe he didn't notice this one sided feeling until he started falling for our main protagonist but no, they made it seem like he really did love her and then just didn't... it was essentially a bad love triangle and he's lucky they both didn't leave him.
If you can get past that, cute book, the chemistry between them was fun to watch play out.
Plan to read one of her other books and see how I feel about the author as a whole.

Maybe Someday was such a unique and emotional read. I loved the music element and how it added so much depth to the connection between Sydney and Ridge. Their story is complicated and messy, but also really beautiful. It made me feel torn, hopeful, and heartbroken all at once. The chemistry, the tension, the slow build, it all just worked. Definitely one of those books that stays with you.
Oh my word. Read this book. Colleen and Griffin Peterson combined to make this book the perfect reading experience. If you've read this book, and haven't heard the soundtrack, you have to look it up! It's incredible.
I rated it 3. For me the series is very lite. Nothing special. But it hooked me to finish the three books. Maybe I just haven't read the Coho book that will WOW me. The one which I will give a 5. Don't get me wrong! I am a fan of COHO and in fact has all her books in my shelves.
This book was an emotional train wreck for me, and I absolutely love it. I still think about this book after months since I finished it. This book would break my heart, heal it and then break it again.
The maybe series will always hold a special place in my heart, i absolutely loved everything about these books. how could you not fall in love with the characters. i loved the fact there was a soundtrack to follow along too, it made it even more personal.
SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! okay I ate this up literally, ate the book up. The romance is more cute than steamy and a way way way slow burn if you could call it that. I think its a great quick read and I already bought the second one!!
I hate that I didn’t like this as much as most people. It wasn’t bad but it just wasn’t my cup of tea. I read it and would recommend it, because you might like it. I had a hard time enjoying it as much as some of her other books.
Sydney gets cheated on and moves in with the boy across the street, Ridge. Ridge is a deaf songwriter with a girlfriend Maggie. Ridge falls in love with Sydney and has to fight to keep her in his life.
This was such a good book! So many different emotions to it and such a believable storyline. I really enjoyed it and I’m not a romantic book person I prefer killers and thrillers but this was so good and I can’t wait to start Maybe Not!
It was a good book to get me back into reading, however the main characters annoyed me a lot. Both so hypocritical and she always makes herself the victim.
