Interview with a Master #1.5

Vignettes of a Master

Rate this book
What you are about to read is a collection of short scenes that I wrote live during a World Facebook Tour conducted over recent months.
For several weeks I appeared on Facebook pages from around the globe and wrote live scenes based on the suggestions of readers.
It was a fun, and grueling challenge. Hundreds and hundreds of readers posted brilliant suggestions, asking me to write scenes that used characters from my book, ‘Interview with a Master’.
Most of the scenes involve Jonah and Leticia, but the other characters in the book also make an appearance… and in several of the scenes I actually appear, interacting with the fictional characters I created!
At the end of the book are 30 brand new scenes that I wrote after the Tour. These are scenes that no one has read before now.
And finally, I have included the first dramatic chapter of the sequel to ‘Interview with a Master’. The book is entitled ‘In Love with a Master’. I hope to have the sequel finished and ready for publication within the next couple of months.

I hope you enjoy these paragraphs for what they are – snap-shot scenes written live as the ideas were presented to me. These paragraphs were not written as excerpts from the upcoming sequel. They are stand-alone scenes that have a life of their own, and are not part of any future book.
Enjoy!

About the author

Jason Luke

15 books1,002 followers
Jason Luke enjoyed several years involved in the BDSM lifestyle - but he is quick to point out that his experiences don't qualify him as an expert, any more than knowing how to drive a car makes him a qualified mechanic. 'Interview with a Master' is a novel about how one man became a Master. The book is a work of fiction, but Jason has drawn heavily on encounters from his own real life. He won't say which parts of the book are fictionalised, and which parts are auto-biographical.

Erotic BDSM fiction written by a man from a man's point of view.

DNF

I started this right after I finished Interview with a Master, I needed more after the ending of the first book, so I was pretty excited to read this little add on. I DNF'd it because it is as the author said, little shorts that have no bearing to the original story line. I wasn't sure what to expect so I gave it a go and as I was reading, I felt like it would confuse me more when what was written isn't really what happened or will happen. The first couple vignettes just left me wanting more. The DNF wasn't at all at no fault of the author or his style, just wasn't for me personally.

Jason Luke did a World Tour and stopped by FB pages of different blogs. He took suggestions from fans and wrote paragraphs on the fly. Rebel Book Chicks was lucky enough to kick off this tour and I'll admit it was great fun. I was highly impressed with how quickly Jason could come up with these paragraphs. Jason's writing flows nicely and I'm a huge fan of Interview with a Master.
I enjoyed Vignettes but not as much as IwaM and was a bit sad with the extra paragraphs that Jason added that were not part of the tour. His writing wasn't the problem it was just the direction of the characters. May be I'm just being an overly sensitive fan but I felt that Jason was a bit upset with the success of IwaM and took it out on certain characters. If you read the paragraphs you may know what I mean.
Don't get me wrong I am a huge fan of Jason's and look forward to In Love with a Master and there are some really GREAT paragraphs in Vignettes that I'm sure fans of Jason will love. I just felt a bit disheartened.

Jason Luke has done it again. He toured Facebook pages writing paragraphs from readers' suggestions LIVE. What author has the nerve to do that?? It was amazing to watch and now, he's published them all in one book for his readers to enjoy. If you enjoyed Interview with a Master, you will LOVE this! Please be sure to read Interview first as it has loads of spoilers. For those of us who loved the book, the paragraphs are loaded with Jonah Noble wisdom, sexy moments with Jonah and Leticia and some incredible laughs!

Plus for the first 48 hours we get Chapter One of In Love with a Master as a bonus! I cannot wait for the release of In Love with a Master! And, there's 30 fresh paragraphs that have never been seen before.. So much great writing in one wonderful little book!

Can please someone answer me this?

What was the point of writing a book about VIGNETTES? I know, I know what are you going to say : These are a collection of short scenes that Jason wrote during A World Facebook Tour.
But somehow I had the idea that the book would be better. I mean the scenes would be much better, because at that moment he was writing them because fans asked him and he didn't have time to edit or add. So let's go back to the maybe, yes i thought he would edit someones. Make it sound better or maybe add something more.

NOPE! that happened.

Mr. Jason Luke has a great talent and his writing flows nicely. I like his work.

But I thought He would do like other writers ( among then my fave ones) that do this stuff and write new scenes. I know he writes this scenes LIVE. Asking the fans for a situation and then in a few minutes he had a scenes. That's Perfect. But It would have been AWESOME maybe to include this Vignettes, at the end of "In love with a Master" or maybe post those Vignettes on your blog.

I want to make sure you understand this, I am not saying that the scenes are bad or the writing is awful. I just believe the book doesn't make any sense. As in : The book or E-book was a waste of time. Post this on your blog or at the end of ILWAM.

Me? I already read all those scenes on the blogs and Jason Luke's newsletter. Why did I bought it? I was expecting more. A surprise.

What did I get?

Nothing. Zero. Nada

Loved it, loved it, loved it. I started reading this book early hours this morning (with coffee) and finished it this evening (with a glass of wine). Mr Luke you know no bounds with your creativity, articulate writing, and imagination. I followed the world tour with you and loved EVERY paragraph, I was lucky enough to be picked for one of your inspiration paragraphs, Thank you.

The added paragraphs were read with as much ease as you probably wrote them. I was astonished as to what you came up with on the world tour on the limited time you had. And the added paragraphs are even better!!!

The final chapter, the added bonus one for In Love with a Master, was .......... YES <<<<<< NO WORDS. You are and always will be in my eyes the man who holds the word Anticipation close to his chest, you never faulter with that word or loosen your grip. THAT is what makes Vignettes of a master a 5***** read.

**SPOILERS**
I would RECOMMEND you read Interview with a Master first before this book as there are spoiler type paragraphs throughout.

But this is a book you MUST ONE CLICK TODAY. Jonah Noble is a Gentleman you have to meet, and Leticia Fall is a Woman you will want to be........ With added characters and familiar characters it was a pleasure to read.....

The Interview with a Master Live World Tour was the fastest hour I have ever experienced! The honor of getting to watch Jason create amazing, heartfelt and beautiful paragraphs in 5-10 minutes was truly a moment I won't soon forget. If you have read and enjoyed Interview with a Master, then Vignettes of a Master is something you must read! The creativity and unfolding of more about the characters is really fascinating. While this isn't a sequel it does give the reader a chance to read the "what ifs" and "I wonders" we all sometimes get when falling in love with characters in a book.

If you couldn't keep up during the World Tour or just want to re-experience the fun Vignettes of a Master is a great way to keep you satisfied while we wait for book #2!

Jason Luke impressed me with Interview with a Master, but blew me AWAY with this World Tour. He is an Author I will auto-buy from time and time again!

If you haven't read Interview with a Master you really need to first, that way you are spoiled or confused with these paragraphs. However, if you read Interview with a Master and was left speechless, Vignettes of a Master will help you cope until we can see what Jason Luke does next!

Vignettes of a Master Jason Luke
I was fortunate enough to see some of these written at the time, on the fly in front of blog rooms full of people. Each paragraph was written in a few minutes, and were a flavor of Jason Luke's particular writing style and ability. This kind of writing takes confidence and a raw energy to achieve, because from a writer's perspective we are always critical of that first draft. We like to 'fluff and refluff' to try to achieve the maximum impact of a scene for the reader. In these instances there was no time to do this. He wrote, from mind, to type and it was 'out there' for everyone to see. I doubt that he had more than a moment to reconsider what he had written before we saw it. As I have said many times on the blog sites, KUDOS Jason...I was most impressed. First chapter of In Love with a Master was included in my copy of this book. Ladies...you are not going to want to miss this!!

Wow!! I loved the live World tour of Facebook that Jason did and i love that he put them all together in this book as well as adding 30 new ones!!
I loved reading them all, his writing is fantastic and has you hooked into each individual paragraph!
I absolutely love Jason's humour, especially when he projects it at himself! I laughed out loud at a lot of moments in this and i really loved the extra personal notes he put in as well.
Reading the first chapter of In Love With A Master was brilliant, a very sad one and i can't wait for the rest!! No one else does anticipation like Jason Luke does!!
I highly recommend this book, it is so worth more than 5*, but i recommend reading Interview With A Master first because of spoilers!!

This is such a testimony on how a excellent author Jason can be,How he can write on his feet around the globe. I totally applaud Jason Luke. He had done different takeovers for his fans. his fans gave him different scenarios or suggestions and he had to write a scene. To me I feel it is hard being a author to begin with but being able to write on a instant. WOW. I don't need to say more. If you love the first book than you need to support Jason and purchase this book. I absolutely love this book.

How many 5 star reviews did this book get? There should have been none. This was about the most stupid book I've ever read. The author must have a pretty inflated head to think people want to read this crap.

Creative

An interesting collection of short scenes from the Facebook tour, creatively written and based mainly on Jonah and Leticia, the best ones being where the author interacts with these characters.

However, it's advisable to read IWAM first as This book contains spoilers.

So I finished Interview with a Master and I loved Jason Luke’s writing so much I really needed more and Vignettes of a Master had been published the week before (lucky for me) so I purchased it immediately. Whatever you do DO NOT read this book before IwaM because it does contain spoilers.

I missed out on this but Jason Luke did a Facebook tour earlier this year where fans suggested scenes for characters from IwaM and Mr Luke would write what happened. In some of the scenes Mr Luke appears and interacts with his characters too. It is interesting to see what Me Luke thinks of Jonah.

This is a great stop gap book whilst we wait for In Love with a Master, which is out June 19. I loved the scenes what the fans came up with. Mr Luke you are a genius to be able to write such scenes live. My favourites are where Jason Luke appears, especially when interacting with Jonah.

A really great fun book, I loved it and I’m giving it 5 stars.

First let me say that we had the privilege of hosting Jason Luke during his World Tour. It was the most unique and innovative opportunity we have participated in since the inception of this blog. It was magical to see Jason put forth these paragraphs in a matter of minutes...yes minutes. I watched it go down...first hand. We asked our page followers for suggestions and they provided a host of ideas. Then Jason would pick one suggestion and within about 10 minutes he would deliver a paragraph tailored to the suggestion. To be able to write off the cuff takes talent and we applaud Jason Luke for sharing his gift.

Each of these paragraphs was true to Jason's style of writing. They are fresh and showed the endless possibilities to his extremely active imagination. While Jason has clearly stated, these paragraphs are intended to be standalone reading material, I can't help but wonder if any of those reader suggestions will make their way into the next book, In Love with a Master. If his imagination can drum up these paragraphs on a tight timeline, imagine what he is capable of when there is no ticking clock.

While I had read many of the paragraphs during the World Tour, I was especially enthralled with the new paragraphs added specifically for this book. Once again, Jason took reader suggestions and let his imagination run wild...and wild did it go. Common to all the paragraphs is the theme of anticipation. Not just in anticipating what could happen in the scene if the paragraph continued, but anticipating what is yet to come from In Love with a Master. There were profound insights into relationships woven into the paragraphs, as well as erotic tales of lust and sex and elements of the BDSM lifestyle. I loved how Jason allowed the new paragraphs to draw from the story in Interview with a Master. Even though these paragraphs are distinct from both IwaM and ILwaM, the character consistency was evident and I appreciated reading more about the characters we came to know in IwaM.

CHAPTER 1 from In Love with a Master
If you were fortunate enough to procure the eBook within the first 48 hours of its release, then you were given the first full chapter from ILwaM. I don’t want to spoil any part of the experience for you, so I will leave you with this…anticipation is everything…

Following the huge success of his debut novel Interview with a Master Jason Luke embarked on his World Wide Tour of Facebook. Delighting fans from around the world Jason wrote live in real-time paragraphs from fan suggestion.

Here is how it worked … Fans suggested 2 characters from Interview with a Master and 1 location. Jason selected one of the suggestions and wrote a paragraph as his fans chatted away. The result was fabulous!

We were blown away at what we saw as Jason would post the paragraphs he had written. It appears that writing under the pressure of knowing hundreds are waiting to read your words let alone the time constraints had zero effect on Jason. His paragraphs were written with grace, ease and eloquence. He added a bit of humor, a touch of sass, a bit of dominance and well a surprise or two along the way. Each and every paragraph he shared was fantastic.

Every paragraph read like a story and Jason had us laughing, sighing, melting, yearning, gasping and begging for more.
The wonderful thing about Jason’s live tour was that each stop presented us with fresh new material. We never knew what to expect but we knew that whatever Jason wrote we would love.

Deciding to incorporate all of these wonderful paragraphs into a book was sheer brilliance on Jason’s part. Having the chance to relive the magic of the tour was fantastic. Another stroke of genius was asking fans to post additional suggestions on his Facebook page. He asked and the fans commented like crazy. Much to everyone’s surprise Jason added 30 never before seen paragraphs based off of the comments by his fans.

This is a fantastic, fun read and I highly recommend it to all who have read Interview with a Master.

I remember when I first heard Jason Luke would writing a live tour on facebook. I had no idea how that would work out exactly. But as soon as it got started facebook lit up!! Everyone was in aww after the first tour stop. By day two, many of my friends were following along. Even though I had been raving about Jason Luke for weeks, people was finally started to see why.

Although I followed along when I could sometimes I just didn't have the time. So as soon as I heard all the paragraphs would be complied together to create this ebook I was beyond excited! Not just for myself, but for so many others that I knew wanted to be there that couldn't. They now get to hold it in their hands an read it when ever and as many times as possible!!

While I will not go into details on what each paragraph was about I do have one comment about one paragraph in particular.. the twist with the woman and the room key... very clever.. not exactly where my mind was when I read it originally but I loved it!! I also loved the commentary after some of the paparagraphs.. I remember seeing some of the suggestions during the tour an I wondered what he must have been thinking when he saw them. Jason has even gone as far as to give us a glimpse as to how he feels about about Jonah Noble.. *Raised eyebrow*

As a Bonus Jason has also included chapter one of In Love With A Master!!.. but it is only available for limited time.. so why are you still reading this.. go on an get your self a copy!!

In photography vignette refers to those photos that lose clarity towards at the edges of the photos. These little short stories just did that… got me totally hooked and then faded to black. Done. Bam. No more. I so badly wanted some of the stories to go on and never end.

I enjoyed the first book but I was not a fan. It a story filled with personal views and opinions, truth mixed with fiction, and ultimately the perspective of one person. There was times that Jonah said stuff that kind of pissed me off and I wished I was in that interview with Letitia.
I wanted to argue some of his points, give him a completely different view.

Then along came this book. Although this wasn’t a kind of book I could enjoy like a full novel (I hate fade to black short stories!), I gained an immense respect for the author. The whole concept was brilliant and how he came up with these stories on demand attest to his absolute brilliance. I am in serious awe.

Starting with book 2 now and can’t wait!

If your like the majority who fell in love with IWAM, then this book is a must read.

It isn't a continuation in the story of Leticia & Jonah, (we're still eagerly awaiting for that.) This is a collections of short paragraphs of different scenes that his many fans suggested during Jason's live FB tour, that he wrote live.

Even though the scenes are short, as a reader you are still blown away by the creativity to what this man can come up with. Something so simple, he writes with elegance, depth and passion that just leaves you craving an whole lot more.

I loved everything about the book. His style of writing, his imagination. Even his wit when he includes himself in some of the scenes. You can't help but laugh out loud.

I'm so looking forward to more with the Master, and can't wait for the release of , In love with a Master. Especially now with the teaser of the first chapter.

All I will say to finish off,

“Please Jason, Don't kill off Jonah Noble.”

Vignettes of a Master is amazing. I think what makes it so amazing, besides the brilliant author, is the way it came to be the book it is today. The on the spot, spur of the moment, off the cuff writing that took place live on Facebook. The scenes range from romantic, to suspenseful, to quite comedic! It definitely is a unique read that will give you a little bit of everything! Especially if you had the thoughts after reading Interview with a Master, what if Caroline would have done this.... what if Tiny snuck into Jonah's training room... what if this, what if that? I highly recommend it as a fun, yet sexy, read, but you definitely need to have read Interview with a Master first!

This is a collection of paragraphs that Jason wrote on the fly when he visited certain blogs on his world tour. I was lucky enough to have my suggestion used in a paragraph. I truly enjoyed reading all the paragraphs as well as the new ones added. I can't tell you enough how talented I think this writer is. His writing is sensual, intimate, soulful and heartfelt in just a few sentences. So you can imagine what it is like to read a whole book....He can take my breath away. I am so looking forward to In Love with a Master to see what happens to Jonah and Leticia.... Anticipation is everything!!!!!

I was not sure what to expect from little snippets of a story. I had almost thought I wouldn't enjoy it but I most certainly did. I had read the book in about two hours (anxiously awaiting the end so I could read the first chapter of "In love with a Master")Jason Luke, again, proved to me what a skilled author he is. Not only did he throw in twists and turns that you don't see coming and bits of humor but he also showed a piece of himself. I found it most interesting to learn how he felt about the characters he had created. I am even more curious now to find out what happens in "In love with a Master" as I am absolutely sure they will not take the path that all readers will want and expect!

Jason Luke has done it again. This book is not the continuation of Jonah and Leticia story. The book is based on the World Live Tour that was done on several blogs on Facebook. The readers picked two characters and location crossed your fingers you got picked by Mr Luke. It was amazing to watch this talented author write paragraphs live. Jason Luke has a beautiful gift and shares it with everyone. If you have not read interview with a master go get it and vignettes with a master as well. You will love them both. Be ready for In love with a master coming soon. I can not wait to read it. Thank you Jason Luke for another wonderful book.

Anticipation builds as fans await the next 'Master' book. Vignettes of a Master collects the scenes that were created in Jason Luke's World Tour of reviewing sites on facebook. Fans made suggestions, and Luke provided the creative force responding with short scenes off the cuff. I've never seen any author give himself over to the fans that way, demonstrating the depth and breath of his creative talents.
I was thrilled when Luke decided to publish all of the vignettes from the world tour in one spot, plus add 30 more vignettes to the collection. Top that off, he added the first chapter of the next book. What's not to love?
I can't wait for the next book to hit the shelves (my kindle!).

I loved the comments after some of the paragraphs from the tour. It was nice to get a little behind the scenes thinking/feeling about Jason as it happened.
The new paragraphs...I'm not sure about. I didn't like them as much and I think it's because he had more time to think about them and what he would write instead of having to come up with something right then and there.
I was fortunate enough to get a copy that had the first chapter of In Love with a Master in it and I loved it, sad with what happened in it, but loved it and can't wait to read the rest.

4.5 stars!! A collection of vignettes from Jason Luke's recent World Tour, paragraphs written from reader suggestions during the author's visits to various Facebook pages. This is for fans of Interview With a Master and is incredibly creative and satisfying. A delicious companion to Book 1, it also includes new scenes and a peek at the first paragraph from Jason's next book. Loved the author's notes throughout the book! This book contains spoilers and should only be read AFTER Interview With a Master. Enjoy!

These are little shorts - they do not have any connection to the first book and and do not further the plot. Some of them are just the author having fun with an idea. He even inserts himself into the story a few times.

Yes it is a neat idea to respond to fans ideas - not really sure it is book worthy or that an author should put them all together and sell it. Yes he added a few scenes that weren't on the blog tour but to me it could have been a free novella to show appreciation to fans.

I borrowed this for free from Amazon Prime - glad I did't buy it.

I loved this book. I think that Jason Luke is so damn talented! yes I love his character Jonah Noble, I won't lie.
But he is way more than just Jonah Noble and his talent speaks for itself.

I hope he never spots writing and look forward to more projects.

Jason Luke is brilliant, amazing, talented, creative, and a very sweet humble person.

Congrats on all you success. You deserve it!
