Enters the charming Ellory, her new neighbor. He's the perfect guy, sweet and charming. Her family loves him. At Christmas dinner, Wren's sister's fiance is introduced and Ellory knows him. I loved this novella! It’s a rom-com with a dash of spice and darkness.
Make sure you check the triggers out on Amity’s website as there are some dark moments in the book.
My absolute favorite part was how Amity wove in aspects of her own version of vampire lore to create and make Ellory. Ellory is definitely a vampire you’ll want this Christmas!

This was an ARC read and Im sad to report I personally didn’t love it.
The plot felt a bit rushed. Especially the ending.
Not sure how I feel about the characters but I didn’t connect to them, sadly. Writing style just wasn’t for me personally.
The idea was good though and it did have some funny and steamy parts.
And I’m sure many will love it for these!

I really went into this book wanting to love it. However. In no way shape or form was this book a rom com.
The marketing for this book is not what I read. This book felt like a poorly executed dark romance read that didn’t hit the mark- and ended in a book glorifying SA one of which was a male of colour. Would not recommend.

I don’t know if I have ever read a story like this one. First, I have to say I have always loved vampires. The first movie I ever saw in a theater was a vampire movie. It was a thing with me and my dad, so I rarely find a vampire story that I don’t love. What really was so different about this story is that it almost seemed like a cute Christmas romance for a good chunk of it. But then we get thrown into the vampire world. About 85% of this story is cute or spicy romance between the two MCs and it’s about 15% vampire story and not so happy times. Be sure to read the trigger warnings because even though most of this story is a sweet and spicy romance, there are somethings that happen that can be very triggering.
The MCs are great. I kept chuckling at Wren and how clumsy she was. I thought the nickname Bambi was perfect because all I could picture was Bambi on ice. But even though she was a bit of a klutz, she was a strong person. She mad a few not so smart decisions, but she also was able to deal with things that could easily break others. And Ellery was so sweet. For a three-thousand-year-old vampire, he was such a great MMC. He knew that Wren was the only person for him and he did everything to get into her life. And even though he said that he was not a gentle person, he only lost his temper with Wren once, and he felt bad when he did.
I think I felt the most for Wren’s sister because she got caught up in some things that will probably affect her the rest of her life. And the villain in the story was exactly what you would picture for the villain in a story like this. These side characters along with Karson were great additions to the story and really added to the plot.
This was a quick read with lots of spice and a Christmas theme that will get even the monster lovers in the Christmas spirit. I thought it was a very entertaining story and I actually surprised myself when I got to the end because it could have kept going and I would have kept reading. The majority of this book was fun, spicy, and sweet, with just enough drama to make it entertaining.

My first read of Amity Grey.
Wren and her loyal dog Aspen prepare for another 'single' christmas. She's feeling a little more disheartened this year because her sister has gotten engaged, and her mum is nagging her about finding Mr Right.
What a pleasant surprise when Wren bumps into her new Welsh neighbour, Ellery. But he's not all that he seems. They both fall quickly for each other, and the chemistry between them is hot and sometimes very sweet.
I wouldn't necessarily describe it as a rom-com. It fits well within the dark romance genre and covers those tropes we all know and love. I suppose you could say the Rom-Com is covered by Wren's accidents and general clumsiness 🤔
I did enjoy this light read and would definately recommend it as a palate cleanser in between your heavier reads.
Initially, I did think this would be a fluffy romance - it's not. This is dark, not grey.

I am really conflicted on this book. So I will break down the things I liked and didn’t like.
I enjoyed the characters and their banter. I liked both the FMC and MMC. The FMC is funny and awkward and who doesn’t love a hot morally gray vampire? The spicy scenes were good and there was also a storyline.
However, this book is advertised as a dark rom-com, and in my opinion it is completely just dark romance. I went into it expecting rom-com with spice. But this book randomly switches from some spicy romance to some very dark scenes. In particular there is an on page SA scene that just felt really unnecessary for the storyline, which just really wasn’t great.
I unfortunately don’t recommend this book, but if you are planning to read it make sure to check your trigger warnings and expect dark romance.

This book had my inner twilight girly, absolutely screaming and giddy. Perfect level of spice, suspense, and humor. Wren seems like she's about ready to give up on finding love, and then BAM, handsome vampire neighbor across the hall, shows up right after she wishes for love on a snowflake. Ellery is a dream come true and more. As their love grows, Ellery becomes very protective and does not hesitate to protect the woman he loves. Once you pick this up, it'll be hard to put it back down. If you love vampires and need a fun Christmas read, then I absolutely recommend sinking your Fangs into this story! 🧛♂️

Are you looking for a short little holiday novella with just a dash of darkness? This is the book for you. I absolutely want nothing more than a attractive vampire for Christmas now! I loved Wren and Ellery and their story. Wren wants nothing more then to find romance and some adventure in her life. Ellery is her handsome and mysterious neighbor who just happens to always show up in the most needed times. This is a darker rom-com so it may not be for everyone. I thought it was absolutely fantastic!

Ellery is literally the DREAAAAM vampire man. I need to go wish on a snowflake for a sexy vampire when it snows after this one. Not only is he hot, he's 3,000 years old, so he knows how to please his woman in bed. Vampires are my favorite type of book to read, but Ellery is quite literally a "touch her and die" man, seeing as he did kill a man for touching his girl Wren.

I really enjoyed this story. It started out as a cute fast falling ( which really isn’t my thing) but quickly took a shocking twisty turn that hooked me right in!! Definitely give this a shot if you love vampires and Christmas

This was a fun read with dark romcom vibes. I always love when the MMC falls first and Ellery’s manipulations to get into Wren’s life were so cute! I wasn’t expecting any plot twists in the novella, but I was pleasantly surprised! Of course, my only comment would be I wish it was longer! I could have easily read a 300+ page novel on Ellery and Wren’s relationship!

This was such an amazing read. The dedication is so much fun which really sets the tone for this Xmas novella. The FMC from the get go seems very relatable. Even if you aren't someone like her, you have a friend that definitely is. We all have that one friend 😆 love the fact there is Welsh representation in this book. I squeaked a little when I saw Ellery is Welsh 😍 the MMC does come across a bit of a stalker at the start but you soon warm up to him and you get so invested in what is happening between them. I love the fact that the FMC is a clutz in the funniest of ways creating some wet yourself laughing moments and the fact you can tell it's been a while for her, like I said, we all have that one friend 🤣 the banter between the two of them is just pure comedy gold. Then there's also the deliciousness of their relationship growing. The spiciness gets spicy but it doesn't detract from the plot. About half way there is a massive plot twist I did not see coming. I was ravenous for answers needing to know what was going to happen next. I will say to read the triggers as there is a moment that could be rather triggering if you are unaware. But it is just a brief moment in this novella that hits you right in the feels. It is the perfect xmas read if you love xmas and vampires, it is the perfect combination of the two 😍

Ellery York just so happens to live across the hall from Wren, and he is a captivating and enigmatic figure who is fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine af with a delicious accent.
The quips, banter and romcom aspects were spot on! Wren’s inherent clumsiness making an appearance in front of Ellery while flustered with sexual tension, and the inner monologues, made me laugh multiple times. I mean who doesn’t talk to a pet at some point so they don’t cøckbløck? Or, get scared by the sight of an insanely hot and well-endowed man and think, “Just take his cøck like a good b!tch. Don’t f*ck this up.” Because, same Wren 🤣
The chemistry between Wren and Ellery was 🔥🔥🔥 but there were deep feelings underlying the tension, which made the connection between Wren and Ellery so endearing.
A vampire thinking about how his “soul is awakened by her presence like no one before”? Uhm, hello, soulmate. Sign. Me. Up. And he’s possessive and wants to claim his woman? I am more than ready to turn and spend forever with you, sir.
If you’re looking for your vampire fix this holiday season, look no further!

The quips, banter and romcom aspects were spot on! Wren’s inherent clumsiness making an appearance in front of Ellery while flustered with sexual tension, and the inner monologues, made me laugh multiple times. I mean who doesn’t talk to a pet at some point so they don’t cøckbløck? Or, get scared by the sight of an insanely hot and well-endowed man and think, “Just take his cøck like a good b!tch. Don’t f*ck this up.” Because, same Wren 🤣
The chemistry between Wren and Ellery was 🔥🔥🔥 but there were deep feelings underlying the tension, which made the connection between Wren and Ellery so endearing.
A vampire thinking about how his “soul is awakened by her presence like no one before”? Uhm, hello, soulmate. Sign. Me. Up. And he’s possessive and wants to claim his woman? I am more than ready to turn and spend forever with you, sir.

Jacki has a super power when it comes to writing a blonde haired, blue eyed almost 3000 year old vampire. Enter Ellerly. This beautiful specimen of a man is charming, witty, SEXY and a Vampire. Say less. He’s obsessed with Wren, our goddess FMC. Seriously, wait until you read how she’s described 🥵 The angst, the tension and the spice delivers. Oh and Wren’s faithful companion, Aspen, will give you a few good smiles to those of us with pets 🙃
Some nicknames can be cringe. No such thing here! The nicknames in this book are adorably sweet and fitting for both our characters.
I’m left wanting MORE and we should be getting exactly that next year.

I desperately wanted to love this book. I’m so sad that this isn’t the case.
To be specific, I loved the story line. It was very entertaining and I am a sucker for vampires.
What I didn’t like, was the way it was written.
This is a novella, but it desperately needed to be a full length novel. Given the amount of things that happen in this book, it felt like I was being robbed of the story’s full potential.
In short, this book was severely rushed and it’s a shame because I was obsessed with the storyline. I just desperately needed more.
Setting aside the pace of the book, I wasn’t a fan of the writing. I feel like a lot of words were overused and it felt repetitive from the very beginning.
Another little nitpick… this is supposed to be a Christmas book, and I wasn’t getting that at all. There is one part where they go celebrate at somebody’s house but it was rushed. I personally would have appreciated a little more holiday spirit sprinkled throughout the book but that’s just me.
I am choosing not to let that affect my rating, however. It’s not necessary for me to have the holiday aspect, but i did want to mention it for those who are trying to decide if this is the book for them or not.
I will say, I was obsessed with this story and I loved the characters (especially Ellery).
This could have been an easy 5 stars from me had this been a longer book with more detail.
With all of that said, I would still recommend to those who are looking for a quick Christmas-ish, vampire read. It will certainly scratch that itch.
I do not recommend to those who need more depth in their books.

I gotta admit, 98% of the time, I am not a fan of novella’s simply because I find I am left with more questions rather than answers. For the first time in a long time, that wasn’t the case with this incredible Christmas novella written by the incredible @authorkisarayen.
In this Christmas novella we meet the beautiful young Wren and her incredibly protective and loyal dog Aspen. With Christmas approaching along with the fast approaching celebration of her little sister engagement, Wren is struggling with the fact that she’s single although that changes when suddenly she has a new incredibly handsome across the hall neighbor from Wales, who goes by the name Ellery. After a night of movies, hot chocolate and playing with Aspen, Wren realizes things might be heating between her and Ellery but she puts it aside believing she’s imagining things because in her words she’s ’desperate’ not to be alone this holiday. Although after a steamy elevator ride, everything changes. Of course what story isn’t wrapped up with a few fight scenes with your man protecting you along with the wonderful family drama that causes mouths to drop -Heck I even dropped my phone- but in the end, love triumphs all and I don’t just mean love for our animals. This story has a beautiful love story with many twists and turns, a loyal companion who proves dogs do know best and the intimacy moments are very hot with the perfect amount of spice for this simply sweet and beautiful little love story.
