Rate this book
The long-awaited third instalment in Penny Jessup’s best-selling The Alpha’s Son series.

Max and Jasper are finally together!

After months of agony and an eventful New Year’s Eve party, the path between souls has been lit, and the new couple are excited to date.

But being the mate of the alpha’s son comes with unexpected strings.

Not only must Max take on official duties as a member of the alpha’s family, but some pack members aren’t happy about the newly public relationship. And with Jasper away at college and traveling to different packs as a representative for his father, it’s hard to find the time to bond.

When summer arrives, Jasper invites Max to run away with him to his family’s house in the Californian desert, away from the pack and prying eyes.

But what starts as a vacation turns into something far less tranquil when their sanctuary is invaded by unfriendly interlopers.

When running away means running into trouble, can Max and Jasper still find the time and space to connect?

Good evening, everyone! I'm Christopher, and tonight we'll be diving into the book Running with the Alpha's Son by Penny Jessup. I am thrilled to have had the chance to read this book in Paperback format as an Advanced Reader Copy (ARC), graciously provided by Tiny Ghost Press for an honest review. This book is the third in The Alpha's Son Series. I eagerly anticipate the release of the hardback edition to my Book Collection. “Running with the Alpha's Son,” is scheduled for publication on June 3, 2025. This book spans 357 pages, and is structured into 31 chapters, all narrated from Max’s first-person perspective. ‎with a reading age of 13-18 years.

Summary: After months of navigating the complexities of their relationship, Max and Jasper are finally together and ready to explore their newfound romance. However, being the mate of the alpha's son comes with unexpected challenges. Max must embrace his role within the elite pack while also dealing with pack members who disapprove of their public relationship.

Review: -The immediate continuation of the story, picking up directly after the New Year's Eve celebration and Jasper's drive with Rive, was captivating. The story's seamless transition, beginning with a car conversation that mirrored the lingering impact of the party, instantly re-immersed me in the book's universe, leaving me eager to discover the unfolding plot. The book delved into the complexities of embracing oneself, navigating human connections, and questioning the world around us. I found that, much like the preceding instalments, this particular part of the series skilfully employs wolf symbolism, which significantly enhances the story's appeal and complexity. I was captivated by the author's writing, which vividly brought the setting to life, allowing me to effortlessly visualize the characters' experiences. I believe that certain parts of the "Interlopers" chapter could benefit from revisions to enhance their clarity. Furthermore, I noticed some missing words at the bottom of the first page, specifically within the "Let Them Eat Cake" section. I admired the use of bold font for text messages, which immediately set them apart, and the subtly offset text style used to represent abilities, providing a clear visual cue for these elements within the narrative. This clever distinction greatly improved readability, allowing for a seamless navigation through the different textual components of the story. Furthermore, the recurring small illustrations of howling wolves as breakers were a delightful touch, injecting a playful and engaging element that amplified the overall visual appeal of the book. I was captivated by the rapid tempo and immersive nature of the experience; however, as it progressed, I noticed a slight imbalance. Following the second book, my curiosity about Max's wolf-related abilities intensified. I was pleased to find that this instalment delved deeper into these aspects, enriching the enigmatic nature of his powers. The humour significantly enhanced my enjoyment, frequently eliciting smiles and laughter. The book's descriptions of food were so enticing that I found myself craving a taste of each dish, and the birthday scene evoked such a warm, celebratory atmosphere that it inspired me to want to plan a picnic for my next birthday. The dialogue between Max and Jasper truly captivated me, serving as a compelling showcase of their relationship's progression and the obstacles they navigate together. I found their exceptional communication to be a standout feature, a welcome departure from the often-frustrating communication breakdowns seen in other narratives, and I was particularly drawn to their consistent character development throughout the story.

-I appreciate that the book avoids explicit content, given the characters' ages. The narrative focuses on age-appropriate interactions, such as kissing and touching, and any potentially sensitive scenes are handled with discretion, avoiding graphic details.

-I was thrilled to discover this book has an audiobook version, especially since it's narrated by Michael Mola, who also narrated the first two books in the series. I find that Michael's voice perfectly embodies the characters, and he skilfully differentiates them through unique vocalizations, making it easy to distinguish each speaker even without visual cues. His ability to convey the characters' emotions is remarkable, and his clear enunciation enhances the listening experience. The audiobook runs for 10 hours and 17 minutes. While the narration is already excellent, incorporating ambient sounds, such as wolf howls or subtle background music, could further immerse listeners, similar to the use of sound effects in films.

-The near-ending twist was captivating, and the conclusion left me enthralled. The cliff-hanger ending, which poses several unanswered questions, including the character's destiny, has created a compelling mystery for me. I am eagerly anticipating for Spring 2026, the next instalment.

I rate each book I read out of 10 and for this one, I give it a 9.2 Remember this was what I thought about the book personally and I suggest that you give it a go for yourself.

Another installment of Alpha’s Son and I was so happy to return to this world! I will say this novel filled in a lot of knowledge gaps and I’m so grateful. That cliffhanger though? I will not recover until I know what happens!

I will say my biggest gripe of this installation was that it felt like a lot of character introductions with no real development of characters until the very end. I have a feeling we will be seeing many of these characters again and I’m very excited to see how and when.

Thank you Tiny Ghost Press and Penny Jessup for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!

3✨Truly the epitome of “go girl give us nothing” until like the last hundred pages when the shit hit the fan. I felt like this was a filler book which was truly disappointing when I thought this was the final installment of a trilogy ( but that could be on me just assuming that it was going to be a trilogy). With the way this book ended, it had better be a series. Despite not quite remembering all of the last two books, I know that they ended on a cliffhanger just like this one did and I don't appreciate that trope for every single one of the books. For the way this was a filler book, you would think that there would be more development of Max and Jasper’s chemistry but they still felt a little awkward together. At this time I don't know if I'm going to continue on with this series

This was an excellent third installment to this series. I love that Penny Jessup is taking the time, over several books, to evolve her main characters.

In this book we finally get what we have all been waiting for… Max and Jasper are officially a couple. With this, Jasper has stopped pushing Max away and fully embraced their relationship. And for those of you who, like me, were tired of Jasper pushing Max away, you will be glad to know that this book really doesn’t have any of that. The premise is more focused on them figuring out how to be a couple and what that means.

Their relationship is developed in this story but I think Penny was smart and decided to focus on each characters personal growth in this one. They both have to learn things about themselves, especially Jasper, before they can be on the same page as a couple. And by the end, they seem to do just that.

But be forewarned…. There is another cliffhanger. And this one will leave you screaming
WHERE IS THE NEXT BOOK!!?!?!? I NEED THE NEXT BOOK!!!!

Unfortunately I can’t find anything on when the next book will be released… so I guess I’ll just sit here and wait.

I really love this series. The plot has taken interesting turns and I thought for sure this third book would tie everything up in a finale - but then, in the last quarter of the story, everything gets turned on its head. So now the waiting game for book four begins…

I’m torn… on the one hand, I like this series a lot and I want to know what’s next and I liked many things in this instalment… on the other hand, Max annoyed me a lot. And I do like him from the previous books. But here… I feel like he made stupid decisions, decisions that make no sense and his emotions are contradictory in an annoying way… in the entire book we are lead to believe that he has feelings for Omar, he even enjoys watching Omar making fun of his boyfriend, which, in itself, is fucked up (or it wasn’t sufficiently presented as innocent for my taste and I love teasing people), and he gives some comments about Omar suggesting an interest and finally he just says that he is not interested. I mean, I don’t see the attraction to Omar, but I feel like the situation was poorly portrayed and it depicts a Max that I don’t really enjoy. I get that as a teenager you’re supposed to question yourself, but here it felt calloused and not enough reflexive.

There is also the first encounter with the rogue council… they were abducted by people who do not announce where they live and still expect people to follow their rules as if everyone knew them. They’re supposed to be a secret! And then they treat Jasper like a threat and a brat although he is the only one with a sane reaction, and Max doesn’t really defend him or try to understand him, or make sure the council understands him. He should’ve said something to Mal at the beginning. They felt arrogant and treated Jasper like the arrogant one when he wasn’t really. He was clearly left in the dark about his mother’s intentions and they made fun of him about it…

And at the end, when he controls his visions he decides to spy on Walter, has doubts about his loyalty and still keeps it to himself when Jasper tries to see who could be a traitor and tells Jasper he is not a spy a second after he spied on someone… the situation felt unnecessarily stupid. And when Jericho needs answers he decides he wants Walter to pay but is annoyed when Jericho has no time to lose to take care of it…

But enough with the negative about Max… I still like him when he is only with Jasper. They were very cute together and them being alone was too short and they couldn’t even bask in their post love-making. It’s felt slow to come and rushed at the same time and the pacing of the action felt awkward… it took too long for the story to arrive at its conclusion and the ending felt rushed. Having so much time to develop their relationship and not develop it enough was a weird choice from the author.

Still, I’ve read way worse than this book but I’ve also read better, the two previous books included. I still want to read the next books of course but I hope this one was a fluke and Max go back to being likeable and stops making stupid decisions and talks to his mate instead of keeping things to himself when it’s not necessary.
Luckily, this was the 3rd book because I’m not sure I would’ve kept going if it were the first…

I hope I’m not too confusing, I’m still working on it in my head…

PS: I forgot to say that I did enjoy jasper a lot in this book. He decided to give their relationship a chance and he did that without a second thought, which was refreshing. So, It kinda felt like a reversal of situation for the two main characters.

Does Max have amnesia? Because the entire story started to make no sense with max forgetting lots of stuff that happened in the first two book. I really thought at first that it was a story arc of slowly having amnesia but was wrong. The spelling and grammar were better in this (for once), but needed more descriptions to areas. There were a lot of things that made no sense in this book. The timeline is weird, with max, jasper, and Katie having birthdays with chapters close together, but having time go by fast for all of them but with the way written doesn't flow smoothly. characters besides max were acting the same as the last two books, but this specific one max pissed me off. He was selfish when it came to emotions with others, and his mindset was annoying, saying how hed never do that and doing it pages later and happening multiple times. There was a scene he forgot Jasper was vegetarian, forgetting Jasper's scent, and changing the rules of how Max knew knowledge about himself, being changed then how it was written in the last book with the rules about it aswell that were explained prior. There's was also a conversation that happened as if it were the first ever time, when it's happened in the past but this time written like it never happened. Storylines and plot didn't make sense, max and jasper are in all time high in everyone possibly being against them and possibly everything falling apart, and they decide to go on vacation like what? They were saying how its extremely important for the pack to stick together, and then days later going on vacation. It felt like sometimes Max was really dumb and then sometimes not and being weird going back and forth. There were some parts of story that I didnt predict, but most of the series is predictable. There are some nice new information found out towards the end of the book, but the humor wasn't as good as the first two, and words would be used that the characters would never say and felt weird. The ending of this book was not good and did not do a good job wrapping up the reasoning for the entire story and not even making sense to were it's noticable. The series sadly is declining and the next book is having me worried on which direction it's going because the second book hinted to something I thought would happen in this book, but might or might not happen in the next book. There's were parts of the story that were good, but didn't make up for the parts that lacked. It's a nice wattpad toxic sort of story having more and more spice happening if your into that specifically. Also did they ever do the tango together in the book? It was never written it happenening but explained as if it did? (Ifykyk)

Penny Jessup is a good writer. Strong characters not without flaws, good narrative (pages are turned faster and faster as the plot thickens), interesting foray into the mystic of wolves/werewolves, their connection to the Moon, their visceral attachment to a pack, said pack’s devotion to the Alpha, etc.

That being said, this is the 3rd book in the series and its plot obviously takes off right after book 2 ends. the problem is (was for me) that I read book 2 some 18 months ago. Considering the large gallery of secondary characters that had a hand (or a fang) in the events of Chasing The Alpha’s Song, a hiatus of over 18 months was enough for me to forget a lot of the many details and even characters from that book. So, as Running began I was confused about a lot of things.

Let me renew the warning I gave when reviewing Book 2 : « this is NOT a standalone book. The unaware reader would be nonplussed as well as missing a lot of the good bits if starting here. «

The bad thing is: ‘Running’ ends with unresolved, high-tension cliffhangers that promise to be resolved in another book installment (or even two, as the author muses in a postface.

Arrggghhhh ! Please Jessy : WRITE THAT SEQUEL ASAP !! I’m an old man and may not live to read the end of Max and Jasper’s adventures if you take another 18 months for the sequel.

I’m pleased to report that there were a lot less typos and misspellings than in book 2.However, in the last quarter of the book the editing efforts noticeably slipped: confusing phrasing (too many conjunctions in the same sentence), and, as seems to be the case with at least half the books I read, the useless, overabundant use of the catchall term ‘or something’ at the end of a sentence. 90% of the time it is totally redundant and could be dispensed with outright. There’s no need to write ‘Like Whitney Houston or something?’, or: ‘there’s a bomb threat or something’, or: ‘I dunno, corrupted the Alpha’s son, disrupted the family line, or something’ ». Remove the catchall term and the meaning is still there, yes ?

Anyhow, I’m eager to read about Max and Jasper again. I do hope though that Jasper is given a higher profile in the concluding events. In ‘Running’ he seems to have mellowed considerably and as a consequence his character seems to have acquired a Beta or Gamma personality instead of that of an Alpha-in-waiting. Growl, Jasper, growl !

Penny Jessup's third book in the Alpha's Son series continues right where we left off in book two. Max and Jasper are officially an item, whether the whole pack likes it or not. This book allows us to see more of that softer side of Jasper, outside of the stress and obligations in being the son of the Alpha and future leader of the Elite pack. We also get more insight into Max's new abilities he gained from book two.

The setting of the book continues to give more detail into this werewolf world and more intrigue is introduced, though we don't get to see much of it due to Max being partially ignorant of it. While this setup happens quickly in the beginning, the story does take a quick turn and slow down when Jasper invites Max to his California home, and is put on the backburner for a majority of the book, opting to focus more on Jasper and Max's budding relationship. While I did enjoy seeing both boys grow over the course of the book, I feel that this decision ended up making the final arc of the book feel a bit more rushed compared to the slower pace of the boy's "vacation" when the political intrigue setup from... actually book 1... comes front and center. And as I eyed my reading progress on my Kindle app, it became quite apparent that the book would end in another cliffhanger.

I loved seeing Jasper evolve in this story from the boy with "too much on his plate" to letting go and just enjoying himself with Max. Max has also become firmer with his expectations and boundaries in this story, putting his foot down on his beliefs on a few occasions. I especially liked that Jasper now sees the pair as a team rather than Max being a hindrance as he did in the prior books.

There are MANY side-plots that need to be addressed, hopefully in later books or, if Penny considers it, their own books. Katie and her mates is always an issue and seems to be swept away quickly. Aisha's trouble with identity within the pack. Mia and Olivia's troubles. And it would be nice to see Mason get a nice short story too.

Overall, I give this a 4 out of 5. I enjoyed my time reading (more like devouring) this story and am excited (ok, annoyed that I have to wait) for the release of the next installment.

The third installment in the Alpha's Son series picks up shortly after the end of book 2.

Things I love about the book:
The characters are still the same lovable people from the first novel and their growth journeys remain constant. Max is still Max, just with so much more life under his belt.
I really love that Jasper gets to grow and emotionally mature in this installment. He's still stubborn but he allows himself to bend more now that he's accepted how he feels for Max and gone public about it. I love this element so much.
Cameos by characters we know and love, which hopefully means they will get bigger roles again as the story continues.
The pacing of the story is really fast and draws the reader in with Jessup's ability to make you feel like you are right there with the characters.
The characters are forced to break out of their good/bad thinking and see that people are complicated and make decisions that blur those lines.
There is a really nice forgiveness arc that I enjoyed.
Learning a bit about Jasper's mother and what she held as important was lovely.
Tomas is a fun character to get to know more about, and feels like he could have his own series with his travels and experiences.

Things I don't like about the book:
Another cliffhanger! There is some serious unfinished business to this installment and it feels like going out to dinner and having to leave before you finish the meal. The story is so engaging and I love the characters but the end feels more like the middle.
The stuff with Katie and her mates feels half done. The drama is front and center, the work to create a relationship like she has is touched on but never given the treatment, I feel, it needs to be part of the story at all.

I recommend reading the entire series, it is sweet, painful, full of teen angst, love, and growth. They are a great take on the shifter romance that I feel is unique and breathes new life into the genre.

I have long been a fan of paranormal MM romances. I first purchased the Alpha's Son on a whim, then proceeded to finish it in one sitting. I did the same a few days later with book 2. Then, I had to wait anxiously for book 3 to be released. This doesn't mean that the books aren't without their flaws, however. I had some qualms in the first couple of books with the main relationship being so toxic in an environment where it felt like there was no recourse to call out that bad behavior. But finally now, in book 3, we get some much needed and much healthier resolutions to a few long-standing problems from the earlier books. Penny Jessup's writing continues to improve. In this third installment, my only qualms are the couple of times Jasper is mentioned eating meat after establishing that he's a vegetarian, and the fact that I can't immediately read the next book. Everything else has been a beautiful journey of love, self-discovery, forgiveness, and learning what "community" actually means.

Though I do have to say... dear author... did you HAVE to leave it on such a cliffhanger? My poor empathetic heart has been wrenched from my chest, and while I have to have faith that everything will work out beautifully, I am stuck in a state of anxious worry over these characters who I have come to love like my own, fictional children.

Alas, I will wait impatiently for the next installment, because I don't have a choice in the matter. The world that Penny Jessup has created, the werewolf lore, the characters, their backstories, and the plot moving forward are the kinds of things that have the power to change a person. In the same way that Dracula changed pop culture myths about vampires, Max and Jasper have the power to change the "default setting" for beliefs about werewolves. At least for me. This book series has become a beloved staple in my mental syllabus of "books that have altered my perspective," and I have high hopes that the upcoming installment(s?) will continue to tug at my heartstrings.

Good job, Penny. You've got this.

This series is the best I’ve read that doesn’t include any spicy scenes. I don’t get super emotional while reading books or watching movies. At the end of the day the stories are made up, so why feel so intensely? Things in the last two chapters of this book brought me to the brink of tears.

Max and Jasper go on a journey of self and mutual discovery in book 3. We get to see a side of Jasper that I don’t think we were expecting to be there but it makes their journey as a couple special.

As earlier stated the most spicy we get I. This book is some kissing but honestly that’s not what we the readers are here for. It’s the love story and darn it it’s a good one. I knew a secret (not super secret if you have the SE Book 1) but I knew vaguely that final resolution wasn’t coming in book 3 but oh man I was not ready for this cliff hanger!! Worst part is we have no announcements of when to expect book 4 and if book 4 will end it for Max and Jasper or if we’ll need a book 5 or 6.

I love these characters and these are a very VERY select group of books I could read and reread again. I’m sure when the release date for book 4 is released I’ll be rereading these again to make sure I’m as enveloped in the plot as possible!

The only problem I have with this series is the lack of Jasper’s POV. I would love for novellas to be released that give us a peak into his side of the story. They are so different as people that some of their interactions would be amazing to see from his POV.

I wouldn't quite give this four stars, but it is more than 3, so I have rounded up.

This series is REALLY frustrating. For the THIRD time, we are left with (and in this case quite unnecessary) cliff hanger. BUT finally, we DO get somewhere with Max's and Jasper's relationship, even if it is just the awkwardness that comes with navigating a (public) coming out/relationship with the Alpha's son. I think if I had known going in that this wasn't the intended last book, I would have left less frustrated. I mean, you kind of pick that up three-quarters of the way through, but still.

With that said, we didn't really learn too much more about the past, and there wasn't much more depth added. It seemed more of a "filler episode" with a focus on Max's and Jasper's relationship, which I appreciate that we got to finally see them together as opposed to where in the first two books their relationship was filled with pushing the other away and angst.

The whole blood wolf thing was a bit underdeveloped for me, but like I mentioned, getting to see Max and Jasper together was nice, and I did like that we got to see it a little without their parents breathing down their neck for once. The rogue sanctuary was a nice change of pace from the first two, with that added dynamic/friction.

I will probably continue the series if there is a fourth book. The writing and editing has gotten slightly better and hopefully the author only improves with the fourth book.

WTH. I waited a whole year to read it, and it ends 100 pages shy of making any sense. Don't get me wrong, I loved everything that did happen, but it was a filler episode. We found out like 4 pieces of information total. I find it hard to figure out what this was supposed to be. Everything was drawn out way too much, and it caused nothing to get done in relation to the relationship between the packs. I did love Jasper, and Max is lowkey annoying sometimes, but I really liked them trying to figure out how to date. It was cute. What wasn't cute was the confusing amount of homophobia. I understand that the relationship is out-of-the-norm, but why the hell do people have a problem with something the moon gods choose? The mate thing genuinely makes no sense, but I can overlook that. What is difficult to overlook is the confusing use homophobia in the same way as it exists in the real world. Why would people would magically have their partners chosen have a problem with someone else's random pick? Why are they judging Jasper for being gay in a "Why did you pick him" way? Jasper and Max literally weren't gay until the moon gods made them date eachother. I feel incredibly stupid being so pissed at the logic of this story, but it annoyed me every time their was homophobia. Can't wait for the next one still.

Overall the series declines in quality with each book. The third installment of this series felt more like a filler novel than anything substantial even though big storylines were introduced. Things were quickly brushed over and many plot points felt very half finished.

Aside from finding Max even more insufferable this book I felt like his character just had no idea what was going on a lot of the time and he didn't feel like the same person who had lived through the first two books, things we already knew had to be reestablished multiple times. Max was incredibly selfish in this book compared to the previous two, and seemed as if he was constantly judging others-- mostly his literal mate meanwhile he was the worst of them all.

The writing could still use a little work, a lot of words wasted on reiterating things we learned in the previous books while neglecting to give detail on things happening in this book.

This book, like the previous two, ended on another cliffhanger and personally I don't like when every book in a series does that. Comes across too formulaic in a way. I unfortunately suffer from the need to know how series ends so I will likely read the books following this one when they release.

I think this is the best book in this series. You can definitely see the progress in writing.

Max and Jasper are finally together and are discovering how to work as a couple. There are still obstacles they need to work through. It’s good there’s some pack politics at play too, it makes it more interesting.

I’m honestly a little bit confused because for some reason I thought this is a trilogy, but we’re getting at least one more book (I really hope there will be just one more, I don’t think there’s any need to stretch the story out more).

I’m not a fan of the second book that was honestly just will they/won’t they stretch into 300 pages. I think it would be better if this really was just a trilogy, there are sometimes just filler scenes that don’t add anything to the story, but that’s just my opinion.

After reading the second book, I wasn’t sure how would I feel about this one, but I have to say, it pleasently surprised me.

If you like ya werewolves love stories, then definitely try this one.

Okay, I think I'm done with the series.
There were so many things that just did not work.
First, how did Max become the blood wolf if he and his wolf were not 'one' to begin with?
What was the purpose of the spirit walk? To understand that he and his wolf needed to connect? But did they? He simply met his wolf, looked at it, had a random conversation with a glowing woman—a conversation that made no sense, by the way—then he woke up. Nothing magically or spiritual happened between him and his wolf to visually represent them becoming one. So what was the point of all that?
Also, who was that woman on the Rogue Sanctuary council that bore a 'striking' resemblance to Jasper's mother? Why bring her up or how she looked, knowing the significance of Jasper's mom to the sanctuary, if you weren't going to give her a purpose? Were they family? Sisters? Why at all mention the woman's appearance?
Sigh...
I don't know, man.
I was really rooting for this author and this series, hence my generous review of book one. But it's been years, and they clearly haven't learnt anything about how to write a better story. So imma tap out.

PENNY HOW DARE YOU LEAVE ME ON THAT CLIFFHANGER OMG.

Anyway the middle part or meat of this book not gonna lie was kind of boring. It felt really really long and dragged on at the sanctuary. It felt like a book more to develop Max only than anything else. Most of the side characters and even jasper kind of faded away for the third book to focus only on Max and his blood wolf stuff. It was semi interesting but it got dry at some points and I kind of glazed over parts during it because I couldn’t keep focus on it. The ending though is so rude gimme the next book bro booo boooo (I say with love). Anyway I think we all just kinda assumed it was a trilogy and it’s clearly not with that cliffhanger. See you next book.

Thrilling, adventurous & heart warming  with a bunch of surprising twists and turns - this was an immersive journey with the deep resonance of wolf spiritual consciousness with lunar planes on one hand and wolf societal pressure and politics on the other spanning out the world of wolfkind into different dimensions. The ongoing romance of the Future Alpha and the new Blood Wolf was absolutely adorable and there seems to be another chapter in this story as penned by the author in the acknowledgement section. Curiously awaiting this other chapter and hope this comes out as another exciting adventure!

i feel like this book kinda let me down. it’s not that i hated it, but it just wasn’t what i expected after the previous ones. i really loved the story overall, but maybe i’m realizing i don’t enjoy travel-focused plots that much. this book gave us another look through max and jasper’s perspective, which i liked — their relationship is great — but the whole pack vs. rogue conflict felt a bit repetitive. most of the book fell flat and felt kinda redundant.

and the ending… wtf??? how dare the author leave us like that?! i kinda liked it, but for the sake of the series, i really hope the next book is better — because i do love these characters so much.

Each new installment in the series continues to improve. It begins with the shocking revelation that the main character is mated to the alpha's son. The second book features a harrowing kidnapping, but in this latest installment, Max finally has the opportunity to be with Jasper on a more intimate level. However, nothing is ever straightforward for these two. I believe this entry is the best yet, showcasing more action, engaging plot twists, and an infuriating cliffhanger. I highly recommend it!

I'm in love with Maxper. Totally worth waiting for the third part in the series. No disappointment at all.
Max is growing up. Physically, emotionally and personally. Despite obstacles and stumbling, the relationship between him and Jasper reaches new dimensions and Max is getting closer to finally understand some of the powers gifted to him by the Moon Gods.
Thrilling plot, romantic moments, deeper insights into wolf pack politics, mixed with anger, uncertainty and fear will keep you wanting more.
Loved the book. Cannot wait for part Four... Thank you.

i loved this so much but i'm literaly about to cry...

the begining of the book literally takes place where it left off. it was going so well!!! the parents where cool about jasper. BUT the reaction to wanting to go to california had me shacking lol. you do figure out more about the mom witch I really like but I do still have more questions. nothing was really addressed about the accident. ALSO JASPER GETS SHOT AT THE END OF THE BOOK?!?!?!?!? i am demanding a sequel!!! also I swear to God if he dies...

Was this the best book I've ever read, no. But did it pull me out of my reading slump? Yes and I'm happy about it too.

This book was more about character development than anything else, we really saw Max come into his own in this one.

I really enjoyed

The ending felt very rushed to me and the cliff hanger I could see coming a mile away

Another exciting chapter in this incredible story!
Just like the first two I really really loved this book. I love Max and Jasper so much.
I do wish we had more I LOVE YOUs!
I love the direction of Jasper in this book, that Max being with him and them being a team makes them both better people.
However…I HATE THAT WE DONT HAVE CONFIRMATION OF A FOURTH BOOK YET!

I still need a TV series/Movie series based one these!
