Hookayyy I could not put this one down. Spicy, feral, and possessive are some of my favorite romance descriptors, and all of them apply here 😮‍💨 I absolutely adored the way that Elodie grew into her own, and the way that Jaeger absolutely doted on her. Also: where can I get a pair of those crutches? Asking for a friend… 🤣 don’t sleep on this one. Or maybe sleep before you pick it up, because you might lose sleep if you start this one before bed!

Спершу Джагер здається відстороненим і загадковим.
Ми дізнаємося, чому Елоді стала здобиччю — вона бореться не тільки за себе, а й за сестру та її дітей.


Джагер як перонаж мені сподобався, бо він хоч інколи робив дивні речі, вони були за згодою Елоді, і він завжди турбувався про неї. Взяв та вирішив всі її проблеми.
Короче був справжнім чоловіком.

Дізнавшись про "Fraternitas" і їхні методи, розумієш, що це темне, небезпечне братство.
У них свої правила, свої місії. Їх братство повязане з темою релігії.
Також були і інші персонажі, які зацікавили...

Кайзер - брат Джагера. Він справжній придурок. Зрозуміло що він захищав брата, але вчинок його трохи дивний.
Повім він виправився і подарував Елоді небезпечні костилі.
І дивився з нею романтичні фільми.
Тому я його пробачаю.

Сент-Джеймс і Диявол — цікаві персонажі.
А хто така еліта Диявола? У мене звісно є здогадки.
Мені сподобалась Хані, про неї тем має бути книга.
І що за молоду жінку має знайти Кайзер? Це напевно найбілш цікаве питання яке мене турбує.

The sweet Bunny that was the first to see the softer,gentler side of that big bad Wolf.
He was able to be rough with her because she enjoyed fighting back before surrendering to him.
And knowing where he came from,seeing how he could still be so sweet and caring with her, it made me melt.
She was the one that brought out that side of him,and in return he was the one that showed her how to stand up for herself and fight for her place in the world.
I hope Kaiser gets his perfect birthday present in His Perfect Possession,too!!

I'll start by saying this book turned out not to be my thing.

I'm cool with a bit of rough sex, some light pain, some B/D, some violence. But the sex was really rough, sounded damn painful, and the female lead was hurt quite a lot more than I wanted to experience. Also, days of orgasm denial isn't hit at all. There's a popular genre for this style of story, and I typically avoid it because that isn't sexy to me. Again, I know plenty of readers are OK with that, so I can chalk it up to "not my thing." Still, it was disappointing as I've long loved Lee Savino's work, but definitely not this one. Guess she's moving into different things.

Just from the perspective of how the story is written, I found some things to be jarring.

The story tended to lurch at different points. Time moved weirdly. For example, it seemed some months must have passed, but in fact it was just a week or so. Even in the epilogue, the female lead was still nursing a sprained ankle that should have been healed in less than a couple of weeks. Yet the male lead had a healed bullet wound. Also, what happened to the sister and her children? The female lead was obsessed with caring for them, yet once they went to a new location, not another mention of them was made. I also didn't understand the bizarre thugs during that 3/4 dramatic scene in the alley. (Their sense of timing was not believable at all.) So they received a boatload of money for their trouble previously, yet for some reason, they felt the need to try to extract more money from the female lead? Even knowing she was the girlfriend of a super dangerous dude capable of killing many men easily? Oh, and they thought they might be able to use this dude to extract even more money from this incredibly dangerous and greatly feared organization? What? This really made no sense at all.

The whole secret society thing was kind of murky. In order to be accepted as a girlfriend of a member, a murder of an old enemy had to take place. And the secret head of this secret society is a priest? Hmm. The female lead's damage by this professor was never clear other than sexual harassment. I'm not minimizing it, but is that what "destroyed" her life so badly? We never get the story. We're just given a couple of sentences, and that's it.

There was a curious coldness to the story. Other than the sex, it didn't seem the leads were in a romantic relationship.

Overall, the caliber of writing wasn't up to Lee Savino standards.

These two characters had me hooked from the start. I felt for Elodie because all she wanted to do was help her family and keep them safe. Jaeger is instantly drawn to her, and once he sees her running toward the woods, he can't think of anything but capturing her and making her his forever. Jaeger and Elodie have mind-blowing sexual chemistry; they can't seem to keep their hands off each other, especially Jaeger. He would stay buried deep inside her if he could. 😂

Jaeger is OBSESSED with her freckles, and I loved it.

I loved Jaeger. He was so obsessed with Elodie from the start, and his obsession for her grew stronger as they spent more time together. This man has such a filthy, dirty mouth. I loved it, and this man LOVES to f--k, but he also loves aftercare, which is my kind of MMC. She was hurt, and immediately, Daddy Bear kicked in. He carried her everywhere and ensured she listened to the doctor's orders. He buys her a new wardrobe and lets her pick out things for the house. He watches rom-coms with her. He was protective and possessive. He was the perfect book boyfriend.

His Perfect Pray was the first book in the Fraternitas series, and I can't wait to read more. These men were unhinged, and I know we are in for one wild ride. I need book two now; I want to read Kaiser's book!

Two Sides Of A Villain
Elodie has extensive financials problems, which is the reason she signs the contract for being prey during a hunt. Not knowing she’s the birthday present for one of the enforcers of the Fraternitas Brotherhood. And when Jaeger catches her, he will never let her go.
Ms. Savino is a master of writing a story that will give the reader all sides, physically, emotionally and psychologically. In this case the choice between fight or flight, hunter or prey, trust or fear and of course give love a chance, even with all the terrifying consequences. I loved this book and am looking forward to the story of Kaiser, Jaeger’s brother and twin.

Care Fenici, immaginate una villa imponente attorniata da fitti boschi, una donna dai capelli rossi nuda che fugge e un uomo con una maschera e gli occhi crudeli che la insegue. Il tempo è tutto, se la rossa riuscirà a sfuggire fino all’alba avrà un premio in denaro, ma se non dovesse farcela la bestia avrà la sua vita.

Non è malaccio come intro vero? Ed è esattamente la moda del momento, non scrivere un emerito accidente nella trama, ma anzi, lasciare il lettore con la curiosità di sapere cosa potrebbe succedere, beh: donna nuda nel bosco, uomo ferino dagli occhi spietati, quindi non prendiamoci in giro, diciamo che sicuramente non giocheranno a dama tutta la notte.

La storia è decisamente molto semplice, l’autrice ha cercato di inserire qualche accenno intrigante, ma con scarso successo a mio parere.

Elodie, la rossa, ha toccato il massimo della scala Richter in quanto a sfiga, mollata dal fidanzato, piena di debiti, con una sorella depressa e nipoti da crescere. Quando le viene offerta la possibilità di guadagnare soldi “facili” la coglie prontamente, di certo non si aspettava di essere inseguita da Jaeger, un membro della Fraternitas, una società criminale che tra un omicidio e l’altro aiuta i giovani orfani della città ad avere un’istruzione e del cibo. Non esattamente una situazione coerente…

La scena intrigante dei boschi dura qualche pagina, il resto riguarda solo loro due, con Jaeger che si fissa sulla rossa e decide che lei sarà la sua donna, in barba ciò che pensa lei. A non essere affatto d’accordo è il gemello di lui, Kaiser, che trama contro questa nascente relazione. Il resto è sesso, tanto sesso, troppo sesso.

La trama si regge in piedi a stento, i personaggi non sono affatto analizzati, più che altro l’autrice cerca di toccare il cuore del lettore con vicende emozionanti, difficili, dure, ma francamente mi è sembrato un po’ azzardato. Una società criminale, l’ennesima direi, con tanti milionari dallo sguardo magnetico che pratica strane messe nere e sceglie la propria compagna per la vita tramite pratiche di sottomissione bdsm… visto, rivisto e stravisto. Ovviamente hanno anche i club con le spogliarelliste, rituali con sangue zampillante, e tanti killer. Il brodo è sempre quello.

Poteva essere meglio costruito? Decisamente sì, comunque sia ha del buono, anche se in questo momento non mi suvviene nulla – scherzo! – ma l’ho letto in davvero pochissime ore, di certo l’inizio è seducente e non se la cavano male nemmeno le scene finali. Ve lo consiglio? Sì e no. Se cercate un erotico intrigante in cui sangue, morte e sesso si intrecciano allora leggetelo, non fatevelo sfuggire.

Dark romance and “touch her & die” were definitely the perfect combination in this book. It kicks off with a full-on hunt where our FMC is the prey, being chased by a hunter. If she makes it until dawn, she wins $100,000. But if he catches her, she’s his for the night.

This was a wild ride from the start and didn’t slow down even after the hunt ended. One thing Elodie didn’t count on? Falling for her hunter. Jaeger may have wanted just one night to chase, but he ended up gaining so much more. Watching how hard and fast he fell for Elodie had me swooning the entire time.

Elodie struggled to accept her worth and strength, but seeing her grow into her confidence was so satisfying.

This was such a fun and spicy read!

Do check the TW of this intriguing dark secret society/mafia story. Eloide, desperate for money to protect her sister, signs on the dotted line to be prey. If she can evade capture she receives money. Jaeger is a hunter at heart and once he captures his “Bunny” she will be his forever. I loved how each realizes the other is what they needed to be whole. I enjoyed the humor blended in with the darkness. Sizzle with primal and BDSM elements. I look forward to the next in this series.

I DEVOURED this book in one sitting! Deliciously dark! Starting strong with Elodie gifted as a birthday present to Jaeger who gets to chase her through the woods and claim her. Jaeger…the morally dark MMC that will kill anyone that touches her. Elodie always in survival mode finally has someone who will stay and the after care is chefs kiss! I was hooked from the first chapter!

This book was spicy, hilarious, and such a fun read! I laughed out loud multiple times and will be buying a physical copy! If you like dark romance, secret societies/mafia romances and “touch her and die” vibes, you will enjoy this book! It reminds me of The Ritual by Shantel Tessier, so if you’ve read that one and enjoyed it I highly recommend this book!

This is Elodie and Jaeger story which is told from a dual point of view. Captivating. Dark. Sinful. Delicious. Twisted. Irresistible. The connection and their barn burning is so strong and so well done I love these two characters. A romantic and sizzling hot read. This novel is quite emotive and the way these two broken and damage individuals come together is exquisitely portrayed. The characters are amazing and the emotions so raw and real. Amazing story with fascinating twists that keeps you wanting more.

He had arranged a hunt for him since he knows that he liked nothing better than a wild primal hunt. Sebastian noticed Jaeger eying Elodie who worked at Inferno. He tells him that she had signed a contract and that she's being well paid to run in the woods. She gets a bonus if she manages to elude him capturing past midnight. But more if she manages to make it until dawn. She got a ten minute head start into the woods. Waitressing doesn't pay her and her sister out of the mess that her ex created.
Sebastian offers her one thousand dollars to participate. He wants her to give the patron a real hunt. If she last until midnight she would receive ten thousand dollars but he will her one hundred thousand dollars if she makes until morning and that's her goal. Because a $1,000 dollars will help with their problems. Ten thousand will fix them, but one thousand dollars would definitely change their lives. She moved in with her sister Margot and her two kids after her ex left her. She's has multiple sclerosis on disability in a subsidized apartment but money is tight. Her pay check is barely enough to touch her sister's medical bills and the debt that her ex skipped out on. He borrowed from a loan shark and is in the wind and now they're the one responsible for the debt. A loan shark showed up to the apartment and threatened her and the kids and that's why she agreed to St. James proposal and signed the contract so quickly.

All Elodie's life she has had walked out of her life; her father, and all her boyfriend's. It was because of her last boyfriend who she had followed why she's in the city. Jaeger say he wants to be with her but she doesn't trust him because everyone always leave eventually. Elodie was light to his darkness and his salvation. He breaks down her wall and they would confess their past traumas to each other late at night until they fall in love with each other. He was the big bad wolf but was always gentle to her. Jaeger and Elodie were born in poverty and had a rough upbringing by destiny brought them together forever. She was scared to let go and give into her feelings and love for Jaeger but he was determined to keep her and show her that he wasn't going anywhere inspite of her planning her escape.

This book had every element I am looking for in a dark romance and then some. The plot was twisty and fast paced. Both of the main characters are unique and likeable. Elodie is a fiesty red head with freckles and curves who enters The Hunt to try to make some extra cash to help her family. If she makes it until midnight without being caught, she gets $10k, if she makes it until dawn she gets $100k. If she’s caught, she belongs to the Hunter. *Enter Jaeger* He is possessive, foul mouthed, and oh so swoon worthy!
The primal play and tension in this book is so hot and it’s not a slow burn, the spice comes in hot and heavy really fast. What I loved about Jaeger wasn’t just his bedroom behavior, but also his after care. That was so sweet and unexpected. For a dark romance, this book was also really funny. The banter was so awesome and well written. I laughed out loud several times.
This was my first Lee Savino book, it’s also the first in a series. I will definitely keep going with the series as books are released because I loved it! The supporting characters were also awesome and there’s a particular one I’m hoping to see featured in one of the next books.
All in all, this spicy dark romance checked all the boxes for me. I’d definitely recommend it.
Lastly, I’m a sucker for pet names and I loved “bunny”. It was so fitting.

Can I just say that Elodie and Jaegar are perfect...for each other. Though at the start of the book I kept telling Elodie to run as far as she could. I still am not sure why she didn't take off with her sister to safety. But then, we wouldn't have the story...

Anyway, the story starts with a hunt. Elodie is paid by her boss to run through the forest and evade being captured for as long as she could. If she made it past certain times, she got x amount of money. She needed money to get her ill sister and her sister's kids to safety. I got caught up in the hunt, cheering Elodie on, and I actually hunched down with her, hiding. That is how into it I got. (Probably shouldn't have been reading in the middle of the night with a thunderstorm going on outside! )

But the prey was caught by the predator. And then the dark really began.

Elodie is in a bad place and just ripe for Jaegar to take. Her sister and her sister's children are being threatened by thugs wanting money that the ex apparently owes. Jaegar steps in to help and thus ties Elodie to him. While I could see his care for her, this is a DARK romance for a reason. Very BDSM stuff.
Jaegar and the rest of the 'Secret Society' conrads are really hard men/women. And the ceremonies to initiate...wow! Which, btw, I have questions on. I know this is just book one...and another one is due out in a month or so, but I have so many questions and it's driving me nuts that the answers are not available. While we get to know Elodie and Jaegar, the others are just shadows and scary ones at that. And it was confusing down there in the dark place because I was having trouble keeping up with who was who. I kind of wish we had started with the Devil and his woman first, and built from the main guy to the 'soldiers'. I kind of 'disconnected' for a bit there, I was not sure what exactly was going on and almost gave up reading the book. But I persisted and am glad I did.
Because we DO get to know Jaegar and his twin brother (yep, there are two of them) story, which makes how he first treated Elodie make a bit more sense. And love did soften him. But it helped when we got to see where the twins came from and what made them into who they are now.

I will say, heed the author's warnings. This book may not appeal to everyone. Like I said, I almost stopped a few times. But she does make you feel for the characters and invested in them, making it. Enough that I wanted to see them to the HEA. And she intrigued me enough that I will be getting the next book in the series when it comes out, just to get answers to my questions. At least, I hope there will be answers. LOL.

Jaeger is at the Lodge, a private club set on several acres of wooded land on Billionaire Island. Jaeger was not born into privilege. He and his twin brother, Kaiser, were born on the streets, working hard to survive and succeed. He is part of the brotherhood known as Fraternitas. He is meeting with Sebastian St. James, who is the second in command. Damien, the man called the Devil is the head of the organization. Damien and Sebastian feel that Jaeger deserves a reward for the sacrifices he has made over the last six months for the group. St. James saw Jaeger eyeing a redheaded waitress at Inferno, their club, so he brought her to the Lodge for a hunt.

The rules of the hunt are simple. The prey will have a ten-minute start to run. If the prey is not captured by midnight, they receive $10,000. If the prey makes it until dawn, they get $100,000. If the hunter catches the prey, the prey is theirs for the night. There is one secret rule that only the hunters know. If the hunter catches the prey, the hunter can declare that the prey is his chosen one and the prey will belong to the hunter forever.

Elodie is working hard to get her family out of a financial mess. Her sister’s ex-husband owes a lot of money to a loan shark. When her sister was diagnosed with MS, he took off. The loan sharks are threatening to take Elodie’s niece and nephew until the women can pay the debt. They also have to buy her sister’s medicine, pay rent and keep the children fed and clothed. Waitressing at Inferno does not pay enough, so Elodie agrees to sign the contract that Mr. St. James offered her. Elodie receives $1,000 just for participating in the Hunt. Elodie really wants the $100,000 payout in unmarked bills if she does not get caught by dawn.

The Hunt begins. Jaeger is impressed with Elodie’s survival skills. He could grab her but instead, he tells Elodie that it is 10 minutes until midnight. He tells her to keep running. He calls her Red and tells her that he is know as The Wolf. He continues tracking her and waits to catch her until after midnight. Elodie can’t believe how turned on she is by him. She is even more stunned when he takes her to a small cabin on the property and bathes and takes care of her.

I loved it. They are quite the pair. He is rough around the edges yet caring. She is feisty and just trying to survive.

This was an exhilarating and engaging read that felt fresh and exciting. I don’t often gravitate towards mafia books, though I absolutely enjoy them when I do. This book reminded me just how much I love the genre, leaving me questioning why I don’t explore it more often. The plot had me hooked right from the start with its thrilling chase—I'm a sucker for a captivating chase and a good game of hide-and-seek. After this experience, Lee Savino is definitely on my radar, and I’ll be diving into more of her books soon!

I admire a strong FMC. There's something captivating about a woman who isn't afraid to stand her ground and put a man in his place when necessary, even if she feels vulnerable inside. Elodie exemplified this in the beginning, and it's what draws Jaeger to her. As the story progresses, though, she starts feeling weaker around him—not because she truly is, but because for the first time in her life, she doesn’t have to be strong and can fully embrace the sense of safety he provides. After dropping out of college and taking car her sister and her kids, Elodie hasn't had a moment to relax and step away from her role as the strong one.

I genuinely appreciate Jaeger’s character and how he looks after Elodie. She was meant to be a birthday gift, but their connection soon evolved into something so much deeper. He broke the rules for her, showing that there’s nothing he wouldn’t do for her. I have a strong feeling I'll end up loving his twin brother even more.

'His Perfect Prey' is the first book in Lee Savino's newest series "Fraternitass". Before I start on the review, let me say there are several trigger warnings, so if you're prone to them, read them before starting this book. Now, for the good stuff. This was an exceptional read! Jaegar and his twin brother grew up on the streets and received a brutal education. That is, until a group of other boys in the same situation all band together to form their gang. Meeting a priest who fed and educated them brought them a long way until they became a powerful mafia group, The Fraternitas, that controlled not only the underground but the city itself.
Jaeger is given a present on his birthday from their leader. What was it, you ask? The beautiful red-haired, freckled woman who works at their BDSM club. She is to be his prey during the hunt and he's not known as "The Wolf" for nothing. She doesn't know it yet, but he intends to keep her.
Elodie has been the responsible one since she and her sister lost their parents. Through a set of circumstances, she had to leave school and move in with her sister who had medical issues and several children. They're barely scraping by with the job she has at the club and now her sister's ex skipped out on repaying a loan shark, they're threatening to take the children until it's paid. Naturally, when offered a contract with the possibility of $100,000 she jumped at the chance.
These two main characters are damaged in such a way their emotions become relatable. The world they're set in became all-consuming while I was immersed in their story. The mixture of violence, insecurity, romance, comedy, fear, love, and chemistry wrapped in a romance that made me root for these two to find their happy ending.
Now I'm holding out hope for Kaiser's story next.

Elodie needs some money desperately as her sister has high medical expenses. Additionally, her sister's ex, owes money to a loan shark, has fled, leaving her sister to cover the debt. So Elodie takes the offer to be the prey for a "hunt," depending on how long before she gets caught, the amount of money varies. Jaeger is given a member of the Fraternitas, and he has been given a birthday present to be the hunter. Elodie does what she can to avoid getting caught, but she does, and in the process, she hurts her ankle. Jaegar and Elodie both come from places with experience of traumatic childhoods. Jaegar has fallen for Elodie and wants to make her his. He wants to take her to his place to look after her since she is unable to walk. Elodie doesn't want to; she is worried about her sister and her children, who loan sharks are pursuing, as well as their creepy landlord. When Jaegar sees the trouble she is in, he puts her sister and children under his protection and takes Elodie to his place to look after her. Elodie finds herself falling for Jaegar too and becomes increasingly drawn deeper into Jaegar's world of the Fraternitas. I could have turned around and reread this book, I loved Jaegar and Elodie's relationship. However, this book may not be for everyone; therefore, read the author's trigger warnings before reading or purchasing.

Lee keeps you turning the pages with all the steamy romance between Jaegar and Elodie, along with all the twists and turns that you don't see coming. This book ends leading into the next book in the series with Jaegar's brother Kaiser's story I cant wait to read this one to see his story.
