Review:

This book had me hooked from the very first page. I couldn’t put it down and read the entire thing in one night. It’s fast-paced, suspenseful, and full of twists, but what really set it apart for me were the characters. Every character brought something different to the table, and their paths ultimately collided in a thrilling way.

I especially loved Miles. He’s a computer nerd thrown into a situation way over his head, and watching him rise to every challenge was one of the most compelling parts of the book. He’s not your typical action hero, which made his perspective all the more refreshing.

The book was just as unpredictable as Miles. Every time I thought things were wrapping up, another twist came out of nowhere. It kept me hooked all the way through. This book would make an amazing TV series.

If you’re looking for a quick, thrilling read that keeps you guessing, I’d definitely recommend this one.

** This is not my review but the remarks of a reader who is not a member of Goodreads. I have used my one opportunity to post due to the quality of Miss R's review. **

' The Ajax File is a gripping, fast-paced thriller that kept me hooked throughout - I really found it hard to put down as I just needed to know what was going to happen next! The book blends suspense, intrigue, and complex characters, building tension and developing a story that feels both grounded and edge-of-your-seat exciting.
The plot centres around an intelligent and resourceful protagonist, Miles, whose normal commute into work turns his world upside down, causing him to question everything he thought he knew about himself and his family. His life now in danger, he needs to find out the truth fast as he is being relentlessly hunted by dangerous killers. The pursuit of the answers to his questions is filled with dark secrets and leads to a series of unexpected twists, drawing the reader into a world where danger lurks at every turn. The pace of the story is great, and there’s never a dull moment!
I also really enjoyed the development of the characters within the story. Each character is multi-dimensional, each with their own motivations and struggles, which adds a layer of depth to the plot. D S Sam Lennox is great and I really enjoyed learning more about her as the story progressed. The action scenes are really well executed, the attention to detail in the writing shows good background knowledge and the dialogue is both witty and authentic.
Overall, The Ajax File is really worth a read - I could easily see this being adapted into a film/TV series as the story really is captivating and I could not put it down. It's full of plot twists and turns right until the end - highly recommended!'

The Ajax File by M J Webb is a fast-paced thriller/mystery that pulls you in from page 1. The action, dialogue, and setting changes all lend to the quick pace without detracting from the plot.

Miles Dalton is deep in thought and watching the people around him on the daily commuter train when his life changes in an instant. Miles is mild-mannered and more comfortable around computers than humans. So when a young man on the train is murdered in front of Miles, Miles is pretty sure he has no idea how react. Surprisingly, he leaps into self-defense with the agility of someone who has dealt with these type of situations many times previously. And to add to the mystery, the young man who was murdered is an almost exact lookalike copy to Miles. The murdered young man's phone rings, Miles answers, and life is never the same afterward.

DS Samantha Lennox and DCI Edward Farley investigate the shooting on the train and the subsequent scenarios. Their personal histories and professional interactions add quite a bit of information without sounding didactic in nature. Just the opposite in fact, all of this adds to the enjoyability of the story.

The character development draws you into the story a little more, adding surprising layers of humanity and suspense. This is the first novel I have read by Webb, but it will not be the last.

I received a complimentary copy from the author. This review is honest and voluntary.

Will Miles and Lennox figure out who is behind it all. Will have to read the book to find out. Great storyline, great characters, story is suspenseful and engaging.

Y’all! MJ Webb had me sweating like I was the one running from assassins. A London train shooting sparks a heart-pounding chase, and suddenly we’ve got Miles—sweet, nerdy, computer guy—thrown into a real-life survival game. 🎮😳

Enter D.S. Sam Lennox: tough, flawed, and fighting her own demons while deciding if saving Miles is worth risking everything. Their dynamic? 🔥 Electric.

This thriller moves—sharp chapters, gritty detail, action you can hear and smell. Webb knows how to pull you right into the chaos.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 — a breathless, smart, adrenaline-packed ride with surprising heart.

Thriller fans, add this to your list. Trust me. 🙌

Audio Version.. The Ajax File by M.J. Webb is another excellent story—well-written, engaging, and full of suspense. I really enjoyed the plot and pacing.
Unfortunately, the narration let it down a bit for me. David Paterson’s delivery felt flat, with little effort to differentiate between characters—male and female voices sounded the same, which made it harder to stay immersed.
Still, the story is strong enough to recommend. Well worth a listen if you can look past the narration. Kindle version should be spot on.

While heading to work on a train, a young man is people watching. That is, until another young man burst through the passageway, followed by a lone gunman. From there, things turn interesting and frightening at the same time.

The author did a wonderful job of strategically placing clues while simultaneously keeping the action going. If you aren't paying close attention, you might miss a clue or two.

All of M J Webb’s books should all be hit movies, and Ajax Files is no exception. Unique ideas, great plot, fast paced. Plus, his female characters are just amazing too (in this book and his others, yes I've read them all!) . They certainly aren't helpless damsels in distress, which I really appreciated. You won't be disappointed by this books or any of his other works!

This is the second book by MJ that I have read and once again it has me gripped from the very beginning!. Excellent plot, with twist and turns on each page as well as very exciting and interesting lead characters.

I advise everyone to give this book a read as well as A Child Of Szabo which is another outstanding piece of work.

I loved this book from the start, fast paced and full of action. Around the 60% mark, I'm not sure the reasons why but I wasn't into it. This may be due to not being in the right headspace to read or it's not like my usual reads. I may revisit this another time. A good read.

Wow. This book was seriously fast-paced with the action starting almost immediately and hardly waning throughout. A ton of excitement with more than one twist I did NOT see coming. I recommend this book to anyone that loves an adventurous thriller.
