I'm completely new in pattern designs but the author really made it easy for me to grasp the process.

The book firstly shows types of pattern repeats, tutorial on how to make a pattern seamless (both manual and digital), and inspirations of how to apply them. What stands out for me is that the instructions are very clear throughout all of the tutorials. There's an image for every step, and the author doesn't use many words - it goes straight to the point. The digital tutorial was so detailed, whether you're using Photoshop or Illustrator, it tells you dimension, and what to do in the software window/panels.

If you're already a pattern designer, I wouldn't recommend this book as the scope is pretty broad and not in-depth. I would think this book is for someone who's new in pattern making or someone who is interested in it. By the time I finished the book, I can't wait to make all kind of patterns!

I cannot wait to start using some of the techniques I learned from this book. I love that it came with a supplemental PDF of super easy to recreate patterns.
