I continue absolutely adoring this series! 😩 I need more of it IMMEDIATELY!

Jaeyoung is truly going through it in this volume 😂 He wants Sangwoo SO BAD, but Sangwoo is…Sangwoo. They both want each other so bad, but Sangwoo had to go ahead and do some shitty research on how men have sex with each other and freak himself out 😂 So now he’s horny on main but scared of what the implications of that would be. Leavi no Jaeyoung to go a little crazy over it trying to convince Sangwoo not to call off the thing between them entirely.

Then, we have the absolute jealousy Jaeyoung feels over Jihye. Sangwoo truly has no interest in her, but she’s definitely interested in him…and that drives Jaeyoung up the wall. I had to laugh reading the scene where he confronts Jihye and basically tells her to back off his man 😂 He resorts to “threats” and “bribery.” Just absolutely deranged 💖

All the while, Jaeyoung’s trying to be on his best behavior because he finally figured out that he needed to give Sangwoo some breathing space for him to come to him all on his own. So, he literally tells Sangwoo he won’t do anything unless Sangwoo initiates, and he truly sticks to his word. It often even drives Sangwoo a little crazy because he’s grown used to Jaeyoung being clingy with him 😂 I love it.

You know what I don’t love? The cliffhanger this ends in! Just torture here 😩 I need the next volume, and I need it now!

These manwhas keep surprising me! What the hell? This was very emotional and beautiful. I'm even interested in the novel now, cause people said that there's more to the story.

The art is stunning. It seems ordinary (in a good way, but still), but then some frames just take your breath away.

Highly recommend.

I devoured this series like I was on a deadline or something.

Loved the art. (swoony character design)
Loved the premise and the antagonism in the first season. (the build up and the tension were 🔥)
Loved the slow burn. (giggling and kicking my feet the whole time)
Loved the autistic-coded MC. (my shaylaaaaa 🥹)

Ugh the sexual tension is off the charts in this series. These boys are horny. How dare it end on such a cliffhanger?!? Lol

These two are so cute together. I hope that Sangwoo can get over his hesitation so that he and Jaeyoung can be happy together. I just know that they’re perfect for each other.

The first car scene steered into dodgy territory for me, but this volume as a whole was, again, pretty near perfect.

In terms of pure sexual tension and desire, this continues to be probably the most effectively conveyed BL I've read. It'll be interesting to see if it's as intense in the novel, or if so much of it is due to Angy's incredible art. The silent panels with glimpses of Jaeyoung's abs, or throat, or simply Sangwoo's face as he struggles with how badly he wants what he still sees as "abnormal"...it's honestly kind of unbearably good.

This whole volume covers Sangwoo's struggle with whether to pursue anything physical with Jaeyoung. A "relationship" is still off the table for him. It's not that he's rejecting it...he's simply not considering it at all. Dating, marriage, etc continues to require a man and a woman for the traditional and biologically compatible method of procreation and continuing the species. But he...is attracted to Jaeyoung. Who is a man. And this is incredibly confusing to Sangwoo.

Jaeyoung genuinely has the patience of an absolute saint, which makes him perfect, probably, for Sangwoo. In that way, I think that post-festival car-fumbling scene is actually kind of important, because it's unrealistic to make Jaeyoung too perfect. You need to see his desire and frustration and the internal debate over whether he wants to keep putting so much effort into something that seems so utterly pointless.

He'd thought that he and Sangwoo were finally on the same page, at least to the extent that Jaeyoung had translated his desires into Sangwoo's language and agreed to keep everything purely physical. It was hurting his feelings that Sangwoo was just treating him like a body, an object of lust with no actual emotions attached, but he set that aside. After all, once he slept with Sangwoo, he would probably have his own curiosity and interest slaked, right? So why try to argue him into a romantic relationship that would fizzle out regardless.

Except Jaeyoung really, really likes Sangwoo, and despite all of Sangwoo's confusion, he is really into Jaeyoung as a person, too.

Once they fumble and fail their way through their first physical encounter - with Sangwoo really too drunk to have been making any rational decisions, despite their prior agreements - Jaeyoung calms down and regroups, putting himself back in Sangwoo's shoes to figure out what to do next. He could just give up on him, but...he doesn't want to. Not when it's pretty incredibly clear that Sangwoo is very, very interested in him still. And is just really confused about how m/m relationships work. So Jaeyoung backs off and puts the ball in Sangwoo's court.

He makes it very clear that he's still interested. He corrects all the misconceptions Sangwoo had formed during his own very terribly conducted online research. And he waits, without forcing Sangwoo into any corners he doesn't want to slip into on his own.

In the meantime, he focuses on spending time with Sangwoo and having them get to know each other better as people. And it works. By the end of this volume, Sangwoo is absolutely boiling over with his desire for Jaeyoung, which definitely isn't only physical - although it's still going to take him a while to figure that part out.

Jihye being a love rival is an interesting component, because she really is everything that Sangwoo should want with his traditional views on compatibility and biological need. They get along well. She's smart and kind and can communicate effectively with him. They have fun. They're good friends, insofar as Sangwoo has any friends. But he's just not interested in her. At all. Even she agrees with Jaeyoung that Sangwoo would turn her down the moment she confessed.

I do sort of feel like Jaeyoung shouldn't have interfered there, and should've just let her tell Sangwoo about her feelings, with all that playing out naturally. It's not like Sangwoo would've gotten awkward around her after the rejection, or changed how he interacted with her in class. But in some ways maybe he did her a favor? Giving her a stack of 50 guys' profiles for her to choose from as Sangwoo alternatives was over-the-top but oddly considerate, in his own way. It'd be cute if she did end up dating that other actor from the cafe.

It's hard to go into all the things I liked about this volume. It's just such a good story, with beautiful art and incredibly intense emotional journeys. I'm a big fan of it and I'm really looking forward to being able to read the entire story.

Look, I binge-read the whole thing, I absolutely see the appeal and I do not dislike it but I still absolutely hate miscommunication and there is no gratification given when they finally do talk. it continues to get worse the more anxious both of them get.
It might be the way the narrative swaps between the two of them that makes me feel like it's obvious how they feel about one another and what they need to discuss but half of the important conversation that should have happened just... didn't.

The portrayal of internalised homophobia was nice but also a bit lackluster in terms of having any reason outside of his "pure and logical" approach to exist. At the same time, I get it as well, though.

LOVE them. I think Sangwoo is such a fun protagonist for a romance story, and Jaeyoung is just too dreamy. I v much liked this overall, and I did think the miscommunication was done well. I do think we started and dropped a couple threads here that could have been better woven into the main plot (jaeyoung’s fam, sangwoo’s sexuality/past could have been better interrogated, etc) but that could very well be done in side stories.

honestly just a big fan of the romance here — it’s not rushed but is so good at getting across the character’s changes in feelings over time. honestly it just gets u right in the feels.

Another decent volume in the series, though I still find Sangwoo a bit frustrating to deal with. I found it interesting this volume had no apparent honorifics whatsoever. I never read the translation on Manta, but given previous volumes, I assumed a "bro" or whatever ridiculous nonsense Yen Press had pushed in rather than just keep the honorifics would show up, but no. They just used regular names. It's not an optimal solution, but I kind of wonderful if the criticism they - and Manta, who is seemingly part of the translation for this release - have faced has gotten to them to at least knock some of it off.

Looking forward to Volume 4!

ahem. What the helly. This needs to be longer. This needs to be a full 10 volume joint. I need to see them get MARRIED and GROW OLD TOGETHER. sometimes i think the marriage institution is a scam but sometimes hashtag real love comes along and im like yeah! Marriage! It’s more than just a piece of paper and a certificate! Sometimes you need something more to seal the deal forever because you are soulmate actually!! This hurts me in more ways than i could possibly imagine!!! Wowee. Guess how many times i crode?!

Okay! Now we’re cooking with heat. This got entirely hot this volume and I’m here for it. I wasn’t sure if this series would be for me, because the characters were a little annoying in the first book, but they’re growing on me.

Wow the manta app censored the fuck out of this. I was not expecting to see full dick lol. Anyway I think this catches up to the part I stopped reading at when I was reading on manta? They've both progressed so much yet so little in their relationship. Ugh I need volume 4 so bad.
