I have been wanting to read this series and when The Complete Series was offered I took the opportunity, I was intimidated by the size of this book because I am usually a novella reader, but I was hooked from the beginning and intrigued by the storyline, it was interesting to see how the characters evolved throughout the series and how and why they made the choices they did.

Woah. This book was twistedddd. It’s too much to rate each individual book so I’m giving it a 4 as a whole. Some books were better than others but overall it was very entertaining. Some parts were a tad repetitive but not enough to take away from the story. Definitely not everyone’s cup of tea, probably not most people’s cup of tea. Lots of triggers for those who need the warnings. I thought the characters were pretty well developed and liked that there was a book that included Pops’ background. I was not expecting the ending.

So disappointing. It started out awesome and I really thought it would continue down that path but then it went stupid. I cannot stand animal abuse (it’s my only trigger) and there was too much of it.

The cult aspect was so far fetched it wasn’t even book believable. I thought there would be so much more detail in what it was like to be raised by a serial killer but this book was just a bunch of nonsense about cults and cannibalism.

Boring and it’s friggen too long to have wasted that many hours

2⭐️⭐️ just for the beginning….

Great Read but give it time

When I first started the series I couldn't put the book down. At times I felt just going through the emotions trying to get through each book and other times I couldn't sleep until I got through the next book.

I feel like this book started off with just as much descriptive horror as it could, and then fizzled out into nothing. The storyline was ridiculous and really went nowhere. Like a smut book that only has descriptions of sex and nothing else. Like that with horror. Meh.

Loved it. Read the whole thing in 3 days because I couldn't put it down! The end made me sad though. It was really good at giving you so much hope and then ripping it away. Did NOT end how I expected!

The ever evolving story of Deicide's upbringing, life, and growth throughout was a rollercoaster of emotions. Her inner monologue read very similar to Go Ask Alice which I really enjoyed. I never knew what to expect emotionally from her own actions and the things that happened around and to her. The character development all around was wild. So many questions answered and I loved Pop's story from his POV as well. It's funny to say how sad and emotional I was at the end of it all, but I was. I built this relationship within the story and now it's done and over.

Trigger warning: everything. Like...all of them.

This was a disturbing read and parts were very hard to get through, but it was labeled "extreme horror," so it wasn't unexpected. You don't have to like everything that happens in the book. In fact, I would suggest NOT liking it, and feeling that discomfort, means the author did her job well.

I do have to say one thing, though. As the mother of a child who has Down syndrome, that scene really bothered me, but not in the way you might assume. Yes, the baby dying was horrible, but that wasn't an isolated scenario in this book. I was really bothered by the repeated use of the word "disease," and the assumption that Deicide's life would be ruined by that child. I don't think Deicide would have made a good mother to any child, and I think we saw that, but her lack of parenting skills and the child having Down syndrome are two different things. And Down syndrome isn't an illness, or a "disease." You can't catch it. He wasn't sick. The wording bothered me more than the death scene, if we are honest.

That aside, the story was gripping, and I think I loved and hated each character, depending on the book. Addicting read!

Honestly I didn’t finish the last two parts of this book. I thought I could handle extreme horror but this was a bit too much for me. Took months to read because I kept having to stop to recollect my thoughts.

Extremely disturbing-inside a cannibal’s mind as she grows up and joins a cult. Written in an odd format with the story and the thoughts, this book makes you cringe. It’s about as horrific as it can get.

I read up until the age of 18. The first books were great, although there were numerous spelling and other grammatical errors. I ignored those because I enjoyed the experience. Then D, aged and I hated her monologue. She sounded like a two year old even at age 18, despite being labeled as “smart”.
A lot of repetition, I stopped in the middle of book 4…I think. I gave it a few days to see if I could care enough to continue. I did not. I skimmed the rest of the way, while the story continued to dwindle into Wattpad territory. The ending was atrocious and I’m glad I did not dedicate anymore time to this nonsense.
I didn’t really think it was necessary for Sea Cucumber to write a VERY wordy explanation after each book.

It’s like a train crash….. you want to look away but you can’t. The longest book I’ve read in a long time. And honestly, it probably could have been cut in half. I feel like I’ve just been thrown in a blender and spun around for 2 days. It started strong, then just got more and more far fetched. The editor needs to be fired too. So many errors throughout. Im actually not entirely sure how I feel about this 750 page marathon. Tired. I’m tired. And underwhelmed. And grossed out.

I loved every single one of these books! I was so glad to see that they are all together as one so I could read it all the way through. Ugh my heart couldn’t take Deicide’s ending! She deserved so much more and so much better. And as much as I hated him for most of the story, Pops started to grow on me. The ending could have gone so many different ways, but I think that the one the author chose seemed very fitting for these characters. I would LOVE for this series to continue with Ace! I can’t get enough of the story line!

So this was recommended by a few people in my book group, stating it was "So disturbing!" and "I could not finish it, it was so sick!" and thought, hmmm this might be a series for me. I have no idea why I finished this series. From start to finish, these books were just an absolute mess and it just sucked. The ONLY good thing about this book was the FMC name and even then, it was a stretch.

Characters
So the book revolves around Deicide who is raised by her single father who, you guessed it, is a serial killer. The series starts with her at 4 years old and follows her as she grows up to 22. It seemed to make no difference what her age was. Deicide was an absolute idiot, immature and so. Heckin. Stupid. For someone who had been supposed to be smart and raised the way she was, she made ALL the wrong choices and was so naive, I just wanted to punch her in the face so many times. Her inner monologues consisted of nothing but contradicted whining that her ending was probably the best part of the book.
The rest of the characters were no better. None of them were consistent of their character and every character felt like they were in some soap opera and were extremely unbelievable. Her father ended up being a hypocritical soft family man, when earlier in the series he was this strict, alcoholic. It made no sense. None of the characters were likeable and frankly, it was a godsend when they killed a few of them off.

Plot
Wooo boy, where do I start. The premise of the plot started out interesting and the "extreme horror" if you can call it that was enough to take an interest but after the 3rd book, I got bored. The twists and turns were predictable and once they got to the cult aspect of the story, I was pretty much done. It was a train wreck, plot holes and inconsistencies as far as the eye can see. The gore and horror felt thrown in just to be a shock factor and was weirdly described that it kind of just felt comedic at some stages. By the end of the series, it even started to feel repetitive believe it or not. The ending was as expected and frankly, I felt like it was a good closure to it all.

Overall thoughts
A horrible series and not because of the horror content. The writing was just terrible. It felt like an angsty teen on Wattpad was trying to write the most disturbing thing they could think of, got a few followers and just rolled with it until they ended up with the mess that this series was. There were a lot of spelling and grammatic errors, which was disappointing considering the author stated that they had beta readers but clearly not a decent editor. The little notes from the author at the end of each book, felt like an excuse to try and explain their process on their process and it just added to the Wattpad feel of it. If I could give this book negative ratings I would and I will not be reading anything else by this author.

Holy hell in a hand basket. Wtf did I just read. I definitely enjoyed being able to read it in its entirety and not having to wait x amount of time for each book to come out. I don't know if I would of read it all if I had to wait. The author definitely covers.. well .. pretty much everything. it jumps right in too, not much build up and just keeps getting progressively worse (by worse I mean worse situations but better for reading) so many comments discussed the animal abuse. I didn't see too many comments complaining about all the murdered babies though so when those stories came up my mind was definitely blown. This entire series was an emotional roller coaster honestly. if you have any triggers what so ever I suggest you don't read it but if you have triggers horror/splatterplunk prob shouldn't be on your tbr to begin with. I personally thought this was a fantastic horror read (even with the animal abuse.. which I'm not a fan of) but I thank the author for being detailed enough to get the point across with it but not as detailed or as vulgar as that particular part could of been. this is by far the longest review I've ever written but I thought this was a fantastic wild read and am hoping it turns into a movie or series some day. now let me go add every book this author has ever written to my tbr.

Started well but fell apart. The first couple of books were great, delivering on the premises. Lots of horrific stuff happening, around the life of a child being raised by a killer. It was interesting, the child's voice was well done, it did a good job of exploring the concept the author wanted, that of the horrors real life people are capable of inflicting on others, behind closed doors. But then it went off the rails. A meth-peddling, orgy-fuelled, cannibalistic murder cult is not the same as the atrocities committed by apparently respectable members of society every day. And that child's voice that I appreciated at the start? Less good as the character gets older. I know Deicide is supposed to be...different, given her upbringing, but why on Earth is she so stupid? And while we're at it, why on Earth would Jules leave her with Andy? Leaving Jules dead honestly would have made a lot more sense. A lot of the twists and reveals I thought were very predictable which was a shame, and some of the later books really dragged. This series became too ambitious for its own good, and keeping the plot a bit tighter would have done wonders.

Honestly
I should have stopped reading this but couldn't with all the good things I heard about it.
it was written as if a 13-14 year old was in her room on Wattpad writing a story. It was super repetitive and lost the feeling of extreme horror halfway through the book(s). The animal abuse, the baby cannibalism that occured got old and predictable. Ace was an enjoyable character, he felt like he grew with the stories though he was only in them for a short amount of time, while Deicide felt like she had no character growth through the story. The ending was very anticlimactic for the length of this book, with Alec being the only one to survive the whole ordeal. The first book (Age four) and I believe it was book 6 or 7 (when they return to the cult to save pops) were the best of the books and actually felt like they had a plot to them and wasn't just about sex, drugs, and cannibalism. In those two the characters felt believable and like they could have been actual people.
I'm glad there are people who like this book but it definitely was not for me.

It feels like a sin to give this book 5 stars.

I also feel like I've been put on some kind of "watch" list.

Every single time I thought it couldn't get worse, the next page proved me wrong. I wanted to gag, scream, cry, throw my kindle to the wall. But my god I feel like the story was executed wonderfully. Obviously, "Raised by a Killer", you go into it knowing things are going to be f*cked. The "Extreme Horror" tag tells you that it's going to be more f*cked than you originally thought. But everything makes sense in why Deicide makes the decisions that she does. Doesn't mean those decisions were right and I wanted to scream at her but they are learned decisions.

I understand the author's feelings about trigger warnings and her reason for not labeling any, but DAMN. A warning could have been nice.

This was an interesting read. I was only able to get through 3 of the books in the series. Pretty tough subject matter but it is 'extreme' horror.. so you can't expect bunnies and flowers. I found the story of a little girl being raised by, and to be, a killer, different and interesting, albeit disturbing. By the time she was a teenager it was becoming tiresome and by the time she entered the cult, it just seemed like a gruesome orgy. I stopped reading at that point. I was a little disappointed in the writing as the three books I read were full of typos. I'm not a fan of quantity over quality in the books I read. But the author did a really good job in making me feel revolted In the first 3 books, which is the intent of extreme horror. I would try another book by this author.

I just finished this, and I think it will be a while before I finish processing it. I woke my husband up last night screaming. This series gave me literal nightmares. I've never had that happen to me before.

This is the most disturbing story I've ever read. I've never been one to be triggered. Things just don't bother me. I read this series in 4 days. Maybe I didn't give myself enough time to process it. It definitely tackles some difficult issues.

Having said all of that, it was a good read. It's you enjoy horror and being freaked out, you will enjoy this series. The books are short and easy to follow. The subject matter can be tough to digest (pun intended). I'm still not sure how I feel about the ending. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I don't think that was it.
