4.5 stars!

The first half of this was basically a continuation + conclusion to the plot of the previous book and I have to say I'm not at all disappointed with how it turned out.

Meanwhile in the second half, this newfound family finally leave Druid's home village and get back on the road. Something that ends up more awkward than I expected but really should have seen it coming - it's actually nice to see Druid being a sane reminder of just how not normal Ivy's average travel experience is. As much as I enjoy seeing Ivy being independent and self-reliant, I really hope Druid's presence will help her learn to rely on him. Because at the end of the day, she is only a child.

It’s interesting how Sora and Flame have developed some cool new OP skills. However, the emotional stuff with Druid and his family was a bit cheesy.

The writing isn’t all that great—emotions are shown by expressions but they’re not very clear or understandable, so they seem disjointed. I’m not sure if it’s the writing or maybe the translation.

I was seriously skimming the last 1/3 of the book, the plot and writing was just too mediocre to keep my attention. It seems the author is a pantser and the writing has an episodic feel to it, which I tend not to like. I don’t think I want to continue reading a series I don’t particularly enjoy.

The book consists of two section. The first part is Ivy and friends dealing with the external problems at the village, learn a bit about her tamed monsters' powers and helping Druid's family. The second part is her and Druid continuing their journey, through which Druid is the voice of what is normal in this world. It is an entertaining and endearing slice-of-life story with some good character and world development. It is mostly a slice-of-life story with maybe a little bit too much attention on Druid's family situation which admittedly is a bit handily resolved. Still, I enjoy this take on the genre and found it a solid addition to the series,

nice and cute

I am using that title for all the reviews for this series. Because I think it describes it best. This series is a fun and sweet read. If you are looking for something devious, exciting, or mysterious this is not for you. If you are looking to just relax with a quick read about a young girl and her adventures, this is a really nice series. I like the characters. They have depth, intelligence and sincerity. In these crazy times, I think we all want something like that.

The story, like the previous books, is cozy and cute. It's not jawdropping or keeps you at the end of your seat, but it's a nice read. One thing thats annoying in this book is the repetitive wording that I'm assuming was supposed to be quirky or funny. Like the main character will think something like "oh im so embarrassed my cheeks must be really red." and then another character will say "Oh Ivy are you embarrassed? your cheeks are all red". So it repeats almost word for word and it is just way too cheesy for my taste.

Another cute installment. The story and characters were lovely as usual, but I especially enjoyed seeing Ciel, Sora, and Flame grow, and seeing their bond with Ivy (and Druid too!) expand.

This whole series would easily be 5 stars for me, if not for the amount of repetition in each book. There's so much repeating/rewording of what was just said. Sometimes I can get past it, but most of the time it gets very tiring.

I enjoyed this volume but I was bothered by one thing. Druid's parents do not deserve forgiveness. They have failed their youngest child by being unable to protect him which led him to leaving his home and struggling with guilt for more than 20 years. Instead of taking care of him they end up showing sympathy for their good-for-nothing oldest and middle sons. Non of Druid's family deserves forgiveness and I hope he never grant it in the next volumes.

I'm still unimpressed with this series, it was interesting enough to see how Ivy's monsters evolved though.

This is more of a cozy setting, there aren't many dramatic events and even when they do happen it resolves quickly. So quick in fact that the explanation is only briefly mentioned as an afterthought, the resolution of the problem that started at the beginning of the previous volume was barely one paragraph inside a short story near the end.

Adorbs

Whenever I read this series, I can't help but squee at how adorable each interaction Lift has is. Fantastic job bringing these characters to life, hilarious job naming the towns and villages. Can't wait for volume 5

💚💛💜💙

This series gets better with each story. I cannot wait to see what happens next. Really interested in what Ms. Serpent gave Ivy, and wondering if she will soon have a new family member join them in their journey.

Heart warming.

This volume was heart warming and fun. Ivy gets, not only a new travel companion, but a father figure as well. Broken hearts start to mend, severed bonds rewoven.

This is a great series.

This volume make so hungry, it was ridiculous (I want to eat those onigiri so bad). In the first third of the book Ivy was in a constant state of confusion for no reason. Base on the events of the previous volumes she should have been more focused. Slime Ciel was the cutest thing ever.

This one was slower plot-y wise, but it focus on Ivy and Druid's growing relationship and that is what I'm in for. The slimes and Ciel continue to be cuties and Druid's family instant acceptance of Ivy is just a balm to the soul (especially when you remember book 1).

Thank goodness, I finally finished reading this. Actual rating is 4.25. I mean, a lot has happened here. Some were tensed, most were adorable. And Ivy with her new companion headed off to next town. Now let's see in the next volume about what will happen there. 😊💕✌️
