Nine-year-old Ivy and her tame slime Sora have joined a group of lively adventurers! But when they arrive at the town of Otolwa, they find it overrun by dastardly kidnappers. To aid her new friends, save the town, and vanquish the bad guys, Ivy will have to pose as bait! Can she, Sora, and their new friends wiggle their way to victory?
The first book was good but this one was so freaking boring! This kid was abandoned and abused by her family that loved her for 5 years so she scared of people to them all of a sudden trust these random strangers enough to stay with them even if only temporary? And suddenly she has the balls to fight a entire crime ring?!? Ok cause that's believable. Not to mention if the crimes were this bad and they needed someone that could tell of people are lying they made mention to that in the first book about how a fortune teller could do it so why the whole lie about a orb or using the slime in the first place? Then there was a part where the assistant or whatever to the vice captain is like "let's meet over lunch tomorrow" but the next day Instead of meeting the vice captain we went into the woods and dicked around all day??? It was never mentioned again??? Plus it's called the weakest tamer begins a journey to pick up trash which we also haven't really been doing. Like by the end of this book she has the money to never go dumbster diving again so what's the point of the name unless she's gonna keep feeding her slime shit potions even tho now she has money?? And then there's her slime they are talking about it sleeping a lot like that's a problem but much like the kidnappers I feel like that won't come to anything at all to much false sense of danger for no reason. I don't even know if I will continue this series that's how bad this vol was....

Ivy and her friends are about to confront the human traffic organization head on, helped by Sora's unexpected ability to "sense" if people are members of the organization. It makes for a tense and interesting story with some great characters and character growth. For me it is always good when a MC is not overpowered and when the story is more about character interaction and plotting than action. It does raise a few questions on what exactly Sora is sensing (lies apparently, but they never ask the suspect whether or not they are a member), how the organization can be this big with being this well hidden and the direct approach to kidnapping locals even from a stable environment. For me these things don't lessen my enjoyment of the story, but I can see others being more irritated about these potential plotholes. So while I really enjoyed the volume, it certainly has its flaws.
A great next installment to the first book! I love seeing Ivy interact with all these different characters - and I especially love seeing adult characters actually act like adults. Though of course, some of them had their own unique quirks that popped up! Ivy's mental snark/commentary is adorable and sometimes hilarious. I've got so many questions about her star ranking and how her taming skill works. Considering the hints of what will happen next, I'm very much looking forward to what happens in the next book!
A fun read! There are a few paragraphs that are actually supposed to be the same sentence in this book; something obviously happened during publishing or copying that caused the sentences to split into separate paragraphs, just push through it.
I am looking forward to book three. I wonder if Sora is going to start eating the third potion or if it is getting ready to evolve.
I finished this in one sitting. I had to know how it ended since things kept escalating.
I really like the bonding moments Ivy had with her adventure friends. I also love how Ivy is starting to open up more to people. I just want to keep cheering her on until she finds whatever it is she’s looking for.
I just kind of wish we got a character sheet since I’m still unsure who’s who since we don’t really get that much description on what the characters look like.

I am absolutely obsessed with this series and I cannot wait for the next book to come out!! I love our MC she is so smart and brave. I really enjoyed her growth and her relationship with the Adventurers and Guard's. So happy that we see more of Soda and Ciel. I wonder what happens next? Going to miss the adventurers/guard's.
This series is so cute it leaves me desperate for more!
I can’t even begin to describe how excited I was when I noticed the second light novel in my recommendations! This series is so cute and absolutely perfect! Can’t wait for the next one!!
I theorize that Sora is going to split into two slimes!
Vol 2 has Ivy in danger. Probably the worse she's ever faced. With her new friends protecting her, she and Sora helps removing this danger. Also, she now trusts enough to tell her secrets to someone. The extra story was very heartwarming.
This story arc surprised me in a pleasant way. I thought for sure the author was going to turn the plucky main character into a damsel in distress for a moment to further the plot but I was wrong. She stays a driving force of action and change while not using violence. That's refreshing.

Ivy starts to learn to trust herself and her judgements. For not having any other skills except being a Tamer, she is amazingly good at cooking. Her Past Me memories help guide her at times. Well written story that is worth the time. I love the world the author has created.
Nice easy read. See a nice character growth and development from first book. The interactions she has are nice and makes you curious as to what will come next.
Ivy and her new adventurer friends team up with the guard and adventure guild to break up the kidnapping ring! Will they be able to take down this criminal organization?
