Amelia Bray has a secret. After her father's brutal murder during her senior year of high school, she swore she'd move on and learn to live without him. But how can anyone expect her to recover from the death of the person who loved her more than he loved life itself? But conducting an investigation alone and in grief is all but impossible... and that's where he came in.

Mason Hale is everything Amelia shouldn't want. He's cocky and unperturbed, can read her like a book even when her walls are built as high as possible, and knows all the ways to push her buttons. Not to mention, he's the son of the man Amelia knows is responsible for the hit that got her father killed. But despite all her reservations, she can't deny that two sets of eyes is better than one... and Mason's eyes are hard to deny. As their partnership progresses, Amelia and Mason can't deny their chemistry, though their traumas and fears may be the very thing that makes it impossible for them to be anything more than peers.

Through multiple timelines and dual perspectives, this romantic-suspense commercial fiction follows Amelia and Mason as they face the ugly truths of life, loss, and love while asking themselves the age-old Is vengeance worth it if you risk everything you love?

One of my favorite books of all time! Emma is unbelievably talented. Her words are full of love, passion, intelligence, and raw emotion. I was so impressed with this read! The story she has created makes you think, makes you crave what happens next and you will not be able to put it down. Amelia is a powerful female character, that lives in my head rent free. I will never not love BTWT and am so thrilled for the world to be able to read it.

I wanna start with the warning that this is an emotional love story above all else. That in no way means it’s bad however I had to be in a certain headspace to take and appreciate this the way that I did. So I feel that it should be know this is heavy and not an HEA romance- BUT it still was amazing- It was hard to put down. There are lots of time skips so its really important to read the chapter titles and remember where you are, but still its amazing. Just keep track of where you are when reading. Mason and Amelias story is so- intense. It has so many layers so many parts and bits to uncover I loved it. May need a few recovery days after reading, hiding in fluffy comfort books for a while but it was 100% worth every moment of it. Make sure you have time when picking this up, once it picks up and sucks you in theres no end in sight. There really isn’t. Please read the TW and take it seriously, other then that enjoy Amelia.

The chemistry between Amelia and Mason was so beautifully built up. I am definitely the fan of blooming romance in a difficult situation and that can be found here. I’m not a huge fan of flashbacks in a book but these were done right, causing the perfect amount of suspense and unveiling. If you want your heart ripped out, then please read, I highly recommend!

Picked this book up at the local bookstore because the cover interested me. Read the back and was invested. It took me a whole day and a half to finish this book.

I loved the characters and how they were real and you could see yourself or people you know in each of them. The writing pulls you in and keeps you hanging in each word. Plus the relationship between Mason and Amelia is more than your standard romance you read. The plot and mystery of the book had me gasping and screaming all at the same time.

I truly recommend anyone and everyone to read this book. It a book that sticks with you long after you have done reading it. It’s one you will want others to read so you can talk about it.

Plus the spicy scenes are 10/10 🌶️
