About the author

As a self-published author I survived the trial by fire to share tales and truths. The experience of writing, publishing and marketing - a huge undertaking - has connected me to people throughout the USA and internationally.

Like some characters in my novels, I too was born in Glasgow Scotland. In the mid-1950s along with my family I immigrated to San Francisco, California and made our home in a district named Eureka Valley, known now to many in one of San Francisco's most famous neighborhood as "The Castro."

My novels take place in a place and time that changed history of San Francisco worldwide in the 1960's. Writing about it was an incredible journey back to fond and, at times, difficult memories.

"The Timeless Counselor" was my first published book (1990 titled "A Psychic Reading as Alternative Counseling'" retitled in ) is a complete consumer's guide to receiving the most from a psychic reading. For those dubious or uncertain my book give answers questions about what a psychic reading can give one.

I'm honestly pleasantly surprised by how engaging this book was! Previously, I had been a doubter, and although I still am, I feel like I can really view spiritual communication from a different point of view. Ahern's writing is professional and captivating, and there were so many anecdotes and stories that moved the book along. The placing of the Q&A section - as Chapter 1 - was an extremely smart move on Ahern's part, as it answered a lot of questions I already had. The ESP test, as well, allowed me to learn a lot about myself, regardless of my position.

Great book, even if you're just a teensy bit interested, and it is actually very thought-provoking. I've actually asked a few people if they were believers, and this book really showed me that the world wasn't exactly what I thought it was.

I LOVE JUNE AHERN!! She talks to my heart, no matter what she writes about. I have read all her novels, and now she has reached me with this book.

The book helped me with my sadness over the past 20 years from my mother's death. No one had a closer relationship than my mom and I. I was beside myself when she passed on. I did not go to see her at the hospital the night she died. For all these years I felt that she would not be happy with me. After reading June's book, it gave me an inner peace and calmed my heart.

I haven't read any books on this subject matter for years but I found this easy and it touched my inner being. It was not really deep, comprehensive and boring but light, loving and entertaining. It drew me in like her other books.

I went to a book signing for this book and spent time with June and it was a life changing experience. This is a difficult topic for most of us to grasp because it is not provable. There is only way of finding out and then it is too late for us in this lifetime unless we come back from that brink like June and others. I think so many of us are so closed minded we don't allow ourselves to accept or explore these gifts that many have. I find it fascinating and I have on and off for many years.

There is room to be skeptical in this field too but June demonstrated she's got something. I love watching her YouTube videos!

I've always had an interest in people who hold psychic abilities, but have been very fearful of the supernatural (i.e. Watching The Exorcist at a slumber party in 6th grade was a horrible and traumatizing idea!). Anyway, I had the chance to meet June and listen to her speak about her experiences as a medium. It was fascinating, as is her book. She's very straightforward, giving a positive and comforting outlook on the afterlife, as well as answering questions that most people (believers and otherwise) may have about what a psychic/medium does. I came away from the experience with a sense of understanding and peace about the recent passing of my mother. A book well worth reading!

"How to Talk to Spirits: Seances*Mediums*Ghost Hunts" is a practical, information book on spirit communication and many other aspect of the dead. Talk about taking a, often misunderstood and frightening, subject made to sound reasonable while remaining mysterious and sacred. Ms. Ahern certainly has the personal and professional experience and knowledge to write an informative account about the spirits of the dead and ghost haunts. I really liked the chapter where she answers the many questions posed her from the "curious living." A great instructional spiritual book on paranormal activities. Highly recommend for the believers, non-believers and the those who feel haunted. I downloaded a PDF at Smashwords.com and printed it out - because I like to write in my books. It was easy to do. I did gift my sister a copy through Amazon for her Kindle.

This book is a real guide on to how to communicate with the other side. It gives great background information about the difference between spirits, ghosts, poltergeists and about the different realms that spirit operates in. This book provides a real foundation for spirit communication and presents the material in a practical and understandable format. I found the questions and answers particularly relevant and I found the author's sense of humor in her writing very refreshing. A very easy read. I could not put it down! Another great guide from Author June Ahern.

A maybe believer. Haven't seen any ghosts myself but felt the presence of my father and a friend who passed away. So, it can happen and this book gave me greater insights to how it happens. It was well written and reasonably presented with cases June Ahern has worked on with the police, and other kinds of paranormal experiences. All in all informational and interesting.
