Timothy Ellis lives on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia; where he constantly battles with his cat for possession of his desk chair, Daleks do guard duty, and he keeps his sonic screwdriver next to his lightsaber and wand. Now there is a female Doctor Who, he eagerly awaits the sound of the Tardis materializing in his house.
He has spent his life reading and watching science fiction and fantasy, and has been playing Space Genre computer games since he used to be smuggled in to play the original text Star Trek game on a university mainframe, long before the PC or Apple appeared. Since 2004, he's written game guides for the Egosoft X Universe series, culminating in two versions of the X3 Handbook. He has also designed major mods for the various games, and dozens of mini mods.
He has been a farm worker, Antique Dealer, Computer Programmer, Systems Analyst, Operations Manager of a small retail chain, and Retail Store Owner. He is now a full time author, who still does Spiritual Healer and helper work.
After leaving behind the corporate and business worlds, he was opened to his Spiritual gifts. Now a Feng Shui Master, Feng Shui led him to Buddhism, Karma, the Tao, and back to western spiritualism. Since 2006 he has been writing spiritual articles and helping people via spiritual forums and Facebook Groups. His spiritual books include "Personal Healing Using Basic Meditation", "Life Harmony, Feng Shui in Plain English", '101 Tips for the John of God Brazil Experience', and "The Wisdom of the Ages is available for the price of asking a question" series of 8 books. His own spiritual healing led him to writing novels.
His first novel, 'Hero at Large', spawning the long running 'The Hunter Imperium' universe, brings together his love of the space genre, magic, spirituality, and cats. Now 10 series long, the universe covers 3 galaxies, 4100 years, and as at Dragon Imperative, 62 Novels, 7 shorts, and 2 companion books. There are 7 main entrance points across 10 series: Hero at Large, Admiral of Gaia, Yesterday's Spacemage, Crossover, Midshipman Spacemage, Old Magic, and Dragon Rider. Alternate entrance points if you don't need backstory first, are Adrift and Mage King, although Dragon Rider has 3 books before it about the dragons.

The fastest way to find out about a new release is my Facebook group/page, which get advance warning about 2-4 days before release, and again when the book is uploaded to Kindle; and my email list which goes out as soon as I have an Amazon page for the new book. Bookbub will let you know about 3-4 days after I remember to tell them.
I normally will release in advance of the specified release date whenever possible, so if you are a Kindle Unlimited reader, you will want another method to be notified of the actual release date, so you can read on day 1.
The third installment of this series, or should I say, "serial space opera," is every bit as entertaining and imaginative as the first two books. Yes, they are "easy reads" in that they really only touch lightly at the angst and deep philosophical dilemmas which could make this book just another word-padded expression of the author's own psyche. However, this is one factor which greatly contributes to what makes them so much fun to read.
After a long day, there is hardly anything more satisfying than to be able to relax and read an enjoyable story. I consider it "junk-food" for the brain. I look forward to reading each book as soon as I finish the last. The almost interminable wait (a minute or two) for the next book to download from my Kindle Unlimited account is a very small price to pay for the joy I derive from finding another great book on my pad. I say, "Write on Tim."
Fun, the main character is still pretty much infallible though at least the author introduces a mechanic to kind of explain some of it. The main is still one of the most blatant "mary sue" characters. At this point, I'm still reading this just to see how ridiculous it's going to have to get before he suffers a major failure and main characters will actually be seriously hurt and have consequences.
While the overall tone is more YA than adult, the series, so far, has been entertaining. It’s mostly positive, with the good guys mostly winning, and reminds me of the adventure series popular in the 50s and 60s (except for the persistent grammar errors in this series.) Yes, some of the tech is truly “out there” and as much magic as technology, but the books are mostly fun.
I am really enjoying the series now. My only downside is the recap in the beginning. If you are this far in the series it makes for tedious reading and you start skipping. Do the recaps before the chapters start so people have the option to skip or read. My only peeve.
Time flows so fast in these books. At most there's a day between thought and creation. Want to create a new spaceship?... Sure it'll be ready tomorrow morning. There's little attempt to explain the mechanism for this pace of production and lack of bureaucracy – nor why people, other than Jonothan, fail to enjoy the same benefits.
What can I say? Another fantastic book by Mr Ellis. The story of Jon Hunter just keeps getting better and better. This time the odds are massively against him but what happens? He just keeps getting promoted!
Be warned: you start this series at your own peril! It will get you sleepless nights and day fatigue! But then, it's coronavirus stay at home time, so it's worth it!
The start was a bit weird as it came across to me like a recap for people who hadn’t read the previous books but done strangely. Still I enjoyed the book, good plot, characters and action.
Again I stop at book three, years later. Way too much rinse and repeat, not much actual plot. Vague visions, vague enemy, basic blunders in the plot, and so on. Book two is mostly about a kitten who is apparently smarter than the author?
The Hunter Legacy is a great series. I love these characters, Jonathan, the twins, Alison, Jane ... Everyone who loves some fun adventure with great characters should read this.
I can't get enough of jon, jane, and the rest of the team. I have every book in the series so far and I'm rereading them, while waiting for the next one.
And while it did end on a cliffhanger this is another solid book, I still really enjoy reading this series and I'm on to the next book I recommend you read this book 2.
This book started to suffer from the golden chosen problem: main character does everything and think of everything that none of the other characters are interesting.
Thank goodness the next Audible book is available because I did not want to wait to see what happens next!! Narrator does an Excellent job with the various characters and the Entire Storyline.
The more I read the more I struggled. Everything seeemed too exagerated, and what was already extreme in the first 2 books went completely over the top this time. I actually like OP Mcs but the way it was done here was pretty unconvincing. He's effortlessly a genius at everything on the first try and the story does not make it easy for the reader to suspend disbelief on that one. It often read like every character but the MC is a dumbed down shadow of a person, and he has more capability than whole governments put together. A little more balance would have improved the read. I tried hard to finish it, but I couldn't take it seriously after a while, And finaly gave up at 80%
Okay, I know that I am not necessarily the target audience for this book, but I have to say I really enjoyed it. The science is a bit (to say the least) fanciful and the story puts me in mind of the musing of a young man daydreaming about being a hero (always saving the day, always accepted, always getting the medals, and of course, always getting the girl); but who cares. The writing is good, the storyline is interesting, the action is just right, and most importantly, the characters are people to love or hate. This book an entertaining escape, pure and simple. I read all (5 at the time) books in a row and look forward to seeing more in the future.
Jonathan Hunter is superman!! Ohhhh I meant Clark Kent.
The main character is an unassuming young man with a heart of gold and two gattling laser guns on each thigh. What's not to love. The battle scenes are just detailed enough to not lose the audience and the battle tactics are brilliant. I love the cast of characters, the women are strong and sexy. And Jon is every school boys dream that all the years of playing war games can actually come in handy. Mess with Jon and he will space you, without a suite! Fun read!
I think this book is one of the most exciting books I have read in some time. From start to finish the story flowed smoothly and the main characters were exceptional. I still have no idea how Jon will end up with who and what is his end result will be. Fun read and exciting.
E. E. Smith. Like Smith the villains get tougher but the hero does as well. Also like Smith it's same stuff different novel. It's definitely disgusting that authors still misuse your and you're. If I had done that in university the paper would have been thrown out.
4 stars to 1 star because if you read to the end, there's a reset to an alternate timeline path where none of the characters or events existed. So all of this is irrelevant, including my original review.
I really like this series, as long as you don’t look too deeply at the science, it’s a little bit like a ‘comic book superhero’ story. If you suspend your disbelief and just accept it as a fun story, it’s a really enjoyable read.
There are a few minor annoyances, for example; the first chapter of the book is a recapitulate of what has already happened in the first two books. I don’t mind a brief recap, but a whole chapter is a bit excessive. I suspect very few people start with book three of a series.
The one that irritated the most, is Jonathon is noted for his unexpected tactics, including packing the jump point exits with debris to cause the enemies fighters to crash before even getting into contact, so why didn’t they think about mines! They have the technology and at one point Jon even said use the debris as a minefield.
Jon Hunter continues to kick butt and take names. However, he is through being Mr. nice guy with the bounty hunters that attack him. I love the series with the humor, action, military science, and compelling characters. Who is messing with the email system? What is with the dreams within dreams? Will Jon be able to protect his friends? I look forward to the next book.
