i recommend a lot if you’re an intermediate/ upper beginner lever speaker and want to test yourself. but if you are a complete beginner, using this method of learning with an adult brain will be basically completely pointless. five stars from me though. the japanese language pod series are very good- don’t rely on them entirely as a way of learning japanese though, obvs.
This book is awful for what it claims to be, which is: a fast way to start speaking a new language. Listening to an audiobook with a bunch of randomly-arranged words and random sentences is NOT an efficient way to learn a new language at all. You need to CREATE sentences to learn not just absorb them by osmosis. So something that does not have any exercises involving you creating sentences is inefficient. You CAN eventually pick up a new language with exposure alone, as babies do - but that is not fast. Learning to talk is basically a baby's full time job and it still takes them years before they can do it. Meanwhile if you take 2-day-a-week class that actually has you generating sentences for one semester you can have a simple conversation.
Good for quick recap of lot of words without much repitition. But not for beginners. The book is too small though. Not really sure if it is that useful on its own.
