Learning to program can be a very daunting and intimidating task. I know, I was once in your shoes trying to figure out how the heck I was going to do this crazy thing called code! I remember asking myself questions like where to start, what computer to buy, what language to learn, what books to get, and everything else that went with it. I know the struggle, and that's why I wrote this book to streamline the process and answer all those questions for those individuals just like me. In this book, you will

I'm K. Connors, a SoCal native with a knack for turning financial, techy, or just simply weird jargon into plain English. With a master's degree in business management, a minor in computer science, and a career in finance, I've spent years diving into the nitty-gritty of money matters and the financial unknown. But don't let the overpriced degree with too many words fool you—I'm all about keeping it real and cutting through the fluff.
When I'm not working my 9 to 5 or scribbling away on my latest self-help masterpiece, you'll find me at the nearest baseball game or hanging out with friends. Outdoor sports are my jam, and they provide the perfect balance to my writing escapades.
Speaking of writing, my style? Think casual, with a healthy dose of humor thrown in for good measure. I'm all about getting straight to the point and delivering actionable advice without the boring bits. Because let's face it—life's too short for fluff.
So, whether you're looking to master your finances, learn to code, or conquer your next wild adventure, I've got you covered. Let's dive in and learn something together!
I am typically generous in reviewing books, and perhaps giving this "book" two stars is too generous. The text trades between being exceptionally vague and then deeply detailed, almost never in between. It's unclear what audience would fund that helpful. The text is often repetitive, and rarely defines the technical terms it introduces. Chapter headings often do not describe anything like the chapter's content, and the writing is often wholly unclear, often with grammatical mistakes. I could go on, but I need to find a real beginner's guide to programming having lost time here. This is not a guide for beginners; it is, rather, at best a hodgepodge collection of thoughts for someone learning basic programming from another, better source.
If you are looking for actual step by step how to code. Step some place else. This book is only filled with generic information about what coding is and vague strategies on how it should be written. There is absolutely no coding instruction in this book.
This book will give you a rationale for learning to code, as well as habits of 'good practice' to adopt, however there is no stepwise methodology for learning any programming language, which is really what beginners require.
This talks about the theory of coding. But you will not learn practical coding from this book!
This book is a wall of text, talking about the theoretical aspects of coding. The title and book description claims that it will teach you how to code step by step, however there no practical steps at all! And it is not for beginners!
