Poppy & Shaw

Poppy is running from a sinister uncle and his sons who are defiantly not kissing cousins. She runs to the only person she trusts, her friend who works for her family's security firm. Maybe she can protect her.

Shaw is working for the same security agency to fix a computer hack--there's no problem fixing this, break-in. Sure he is that good but there is another reason. When he meets Poppy he knows the geek he is now couldn't possibly get this girl, however, things are gonna change.

Poppy meets Shaw and finds out something about him that could change everything.

Another exciting book in the series with even more action than usual, steam galore, and a visit with some old friends.

This is a series each can be read alone but you will want to read the others as some of the characters cross over.

Poppy is a Panther shifter. Shaw is a human geek. Fate has a way of throwing people together what they do with it, well that is up to them but fighting it will not work. Each one of these books get better. We have family drama. Loved the characters.

Milly does it again! I just love the Alpha Geeks series. This time it's the hacker Shaw. I enjoyed Shaw and Poppy's story. The storyline was great and fast paced. It was also nice to see the previous Alpha geeks show up in the story.

The heat between our characters is steamy and HOT! No spoilers here; you must read the book. I couldn't put it down. Poppy and Shaw are great characters. I love how they help the author tell their story. I love the big bully concept and the outcome it brings. Read and enjoy!!!

This is Shaw and Poppy's story . Poppy is on the run and trying to hide from her family but with her bank account emptied she is having to stay in her car as she hunts for a safe place to hide . Shaw has reached his limit ! He is going to get revenge on the Cain family for all they have done to him and to others especially for his nana ! He plans everything out and now is willing to deal with the fall out ! But the fall out turns out to be much worse than he ever expected . Poppy has finally found her mate ! But as things are going so well danger stalks and hits ! She learns some things that have rocked her world and destroyed the trust that she had been feeling for her mate . How will these two work things out with so much between them ? Well this author has such an amazing story to tell ! All I will add is that you need to pick up this one and please don't forget the others in this series ! So good and hot ! This is well written and recommended to all !!

This is an OK shifter romance, but it seemed that the couple was more in lust than in love. Shaw and Poppy were both likable, but I would have liked a little more romance and a little less sex. It is a quick read, so there wasn't time for as much character development as I like -- but there was enough to like the couple and to want them to find their HEA.

I thought that both Shaw and Poppy would have had more trouble trusting each other than they did -- first because Poppy's cousins had always bullied Shaw, and then because Poppy found out that Shaw's hacking had badly hurt her. I get that shifters love their mates immediately, but I still think they would have had more trouble getting past their problems than they did.

One other thing, and this is minor, but it is a pet peeve of mine. The characters on the book covers should look like the description of the characters in the books. Shaw is described as having curly, messy black hair that always falls in his face, but the guy on the cover has short, neat, light brown hair. This may not be the author's fault, but it still bugs me.

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

Poppy Cain is a panther shifter and has been living a secret life for years as she hides her true life from her overbearing uncle and cousins who are the centre of a local shady business in their local town. They have decided that they are going to use her as a pawn and she has decided that enough is enough and run away. What she never foresaw was finding her mate as part of that process. Ace computer hacker Shaw Eagan is trying to use his skills for the good and has decided that the evil Cain family have gone too far and so has cleaned out their bank accounts and decides to steal a special serum to become a shifter and to protect both himself and his family. After meeting Poppy, sparks fly between them but her life is in danger and she has no time to meet her mate plus he has no idea that she is actually a member of the Cain family. When the truth is exposed and lives are threatened that trust is on the line. Can Poppy and Shaw put away their pain long enough to survive together?

This was a very enjoyable story which looked at how trust is important in a relationship and that it has to be carefully managed. It also looked at how sometimes people only see what they want to see or think they can see and that sometimes we need to be careful and look at real facts. I loved all of the action and emotional angst that they both went through which was all very dramatic. Contains explicit sexual content.

Hmm.

When a computer hacker wants revenge against the Cain family, he implements plan one by taking every dime they have a plays Robin Hood. Only he doesn't know that the Uncle has an innocent niece, Poppy, who's a nurse and he just robbed her of her nest egg she's been saving for years and what her late parents left her when they died.

When he implemented his second part of his plan, to steal the infamous shifter serum so he's never bullied by the Cain trio ever again, he meets Poppy Cain, A panther shifter, in Nick's office. He has such a connection with her, he can't describe it.

Poppy meets Shaw and knows immediately that he's her mate. She's at Nick's office because she's on the run hiding from her Uncle and cousins. She has kept to herself ever since her parents died and they took her in. But on she found out that they arranged for her to marry an older man only to kill him for his money and real estate, she ran. Then she found out that they took every dime she had in her bank accounts.

Shaw had no idea she was a Cain until their second date when her cousins come after them. When they kill him, Poppy gives him the serum and vows to not mate with such a deceitful man. Now Shaw is a tiger/wolf shifter and he knows that he screwed up badly with his mate.

Can he make things right with her?

This is a wonderful read, simply captivating
Poppy is a panther shifter who has been living and hiding her working career as a very experienced nurse from an Uncle that would go above and beyond to control her life as much as he totally can, hence her need for secrecy and privacy which is near impossible when her every move is watched by him and a group of mad controlling cousins that will do god knows what to keep her in line.
Shaw Eagan uses his tracking skills to assist wherever possible however when he realises that a family is trying to force him in to a corner so he decides that he has to take an active stand and this is going to mean some pretty decisive steps.

He is not aware that Poppy is a Cain and so when it becomes apparent that time is running out for her to find a mate both of these individuals that have been treated horrifically by the Cain family must make a decision to work together.
This is a very exciting read full of mystery and intrigue, once you start you will not be able to put the book down until reaching the end.

I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

This is book 6 in the Alpha Geek series but it can absolutely be read as a stand alone and understand everything that happens in it. In this one we get Poppy and Shaw's story. Poppy has run away from her evil uncle and cousins and is trying to find a way to hide from them. Shaw is working for a security agency that also employs the friend she runs to. There is something there right from the start when they meet. Something that both of them feel the need to explore. He has his own things that he is hiding not only from the company he is working for but from the girl that he is already starting to feel things for. The girl that he thinks could be his one, if he can only be seen as something more than a geek.

This one was a good one! I really liked Poppy and Shaw and they definitely had this instant chemistry that was hot! They both had things they were hiding and other than learning things about them personally they didn't really talk about the people in their past, which seemed slightly strange to me at first. There was some action and it definitely had the sweetness factor. I was a little iffy about the way they instantly felt lust for each other, especially as he wasn't her normal type. But on a whole, it was a good read!

Another great story. Sadly, there are no more available in this series yet, but I can't wait to read more, so I hope the author has plans to add on to this series. I enjoyed this story as it brought something new again. In this one the male didn't automatically change from awkward and shy to overly confident. He knew that he was going to be confident as a shifter, so he started faking it, practicing, before hand. Poppy was also different from the previous females because she it=s the first female who is not an employee of the security agency. Actually, she begins as a woman asking the agency for help because she is the one in danger. I like that the two grow and develop in different ways, together. Neither is the perfectly confident, strong and brave characters right from the first word. They each had to find their strength through trial and error. I really enjoyed their story and really enjoyed what happened in the last chapter. Looking forward to seeing what happens in the next book, which couple will come next.

I absolutely love Milly Taiden's Alpha Geek Series! I like that you can read just one book or in conjunction with the other books in the series.

Poppy is trying to hide from her law breaking uncle and cousins and runs to her friend for help. In doing so, she meets Shaw who is working at he same place her friend works at. The connection between them is instant and electric. Little does Poppy know that Shaw has an agenda. He's out to get revenge on her uncle and cousins. In doing so, he accidentally hurts Poppy and loses her trust in him.

Now Shaw not only has to join Poppy in hiding from her cousins but he has to try everything in his power to gain back her trust. And Poppy's cousins will stop at nothing to get their money back. Even if that means they have to kill Shaw to do it.

Shaw is just as geeky and knows some of the others, but he is a hacker who is out for revenge against his childhood bullies who are cheating and stealing from people. His plan to help them and stay alive involves the shifter serum, which is obviously the worst kept secret. His plan isn't very well though out and it is complicated by meeting his mate, Poppy. Poppy is needing the protection of Nick's agency from her own family.

I was happy to see that when Poppy found out what was going on, she wasn't too quick to forgive him since he also stole her money and made it harder to protect herself from her family. Shaw being her mate didn't make her a complete push over. The change in the plot line from the previous books was welcomed.

I thoroughly love Shaw the Geek. He's adorable and sweet. If he hadn't had bullies messing with his Nana, he probably would never have turned to a short life of crime or a long life as a shifter. Although that's all fortunate for him and Poppy, since he's her mate and all.
I've liked all the Alpha Geek series. It's nice to see smart, funny guys who are low on physical scale end up with smart, sassy, beautiful women.
I feel like the confrontation with the antagonists was what it should be as well. The bullies that were Poppy's cousins needed to be dealt with and were as disruptive to the story as they should have been.
If there are any more Alpha Geek books from Milly Taiden, I will be reading them!

Poppy is on the lam and attempting to hide from her family. She may be a panther shifter but even she knows she can't take on her uncle and her icky cousins all on her own. She has zero money after her accounts were attempted to she has one lifeline left.

Shaw has his own issues to deal with - mainly the Cain family for all the problems they have been causing his sweet grandmother and also him. Now he's got Poppy to deal with and she comes with whole other set of problems.

Poppy may have found her mate but he is not at all what she expected. ut he may be just what she needs. He may have the geeks exterior but he has the heart of a warrior and a great need to protect those he loves.

Great read and well-paced. I'm loving these gorgeous geeks!

Shaw and Poppy's lives have been intertwined longer than they've known. Poppy is trying to break away from her uncle and cousins but her life has taken an unexpected turn. Her bank account wiped she has no other choice but to run to a friend for help and protection. Shaw has been waiting a long time to bring her cousins and uncle down...little does he know his plan has a major consequence for Poppy. When they meet it is instant chemistry but when Shaw's part in Poppy's hardship comes to life, will they be able to overcome?

Milly does an amazing job creating this world. Even if you haven't read the other books in the series, you can read this one as it stands on its own. Absolutely Amazing!

This is the 6th novella in this series and while it can be read as a stand alone it helps to know the back stories of the series to understand what is going on with these shifters and humans. In this book we know going in that Shaw has intentions of stealing the shifter formula why. What he doesn't know is that the girl or shifter he is attracted to is the reason he needs to be come a shifter in the first place. I liked catching up with past characters in this authors books and her writing always gives us a hint of humor mixed with romance and yes something for us to think on that is going on out in the world at large. I am looking forward to more in this series and seeing if there is more to come from this group.

3.5 stars. I liked this but didn’t love it.
The story line itself was fun and everything that happens was entertaining.
I just felt everything wrapped up quickly in relation to Poppy’s horrible criminal family.
I liked Shaw even though his thinking was a bit silly but his interactions with his Nana were sweet.
Poppy was okay, I just didn’t understand the fact that she hadn’t walked away from her criminal relatives before now. She is an adult, went into a job she wanted, had her own money from her parents life insurance, so why did she stay in that toxic environment?
And I just didn’t get a love vibe from Shaw and Poppy until we are nearly finished.
A couple of things weren’t addressed and a few errors popped up.

Coming up with the right code
Let’s give a warm welcome to the newest geek in town. The author gave this geek super powers before he ever thought of being a shifter. And he used them mostly for good, well unless you harm nana then you better watch out. I loved these two characters, the fact that their mating wasn’t easy made it that much sweeter when they found their HEA. The action is hoping from beginning to end in this story and it fit perfectly with the other books in the series. With every addition to the pride, this series gets better and I am looking forward to reading the next installment.

Bullied for years by the Cain brothers and his beloved grandmother now caught in their web of devious behaviour Shaw has had enough and decides the time has come to push back. Coming up with a plan to make them pay for the years of torment his plan sets in motion a chain of events which he could not predict. When Poppy inadvertently gets caught up in his plan their lives become linked in unexpected ways. Shaw was a hacker- one of the best. He used his skills for good and to help others out. But when his Nana was in trouble, all bets were off. He went after the source- moving money, shifter serum to fight the fight......so, hacking to get a job to fix the hack, to obtain the shifter serum....Poppy was on the run from her uncle and cousins. She'd made choices to benefit herself and they were not happy. When she met Shaw, by chance, the sparks flew between them. She immediately thought mate, but this scrawny human was too fragile. But there was just something about him....Another fabulous Alpha Geek romance by Milly Taiden!

This is fast paced, romantic, shifter fights, and of course, a new shifter! Highly recommend! So ready to read more from Milly. You WILL absolutely love her books. Keep up the amazing work.

Ok first--
Before I read Bennet's book, I read a review complaining that the author had changed the name of Gray's mate from the previous book from Skylar to Blake, like she forgot her own character's name...
I was pleasantly surprised to find she fixed that in Bennet's book.
I was overly annoyed to learn she went back to Blake in Shaw's book.
It's a really simple thing, not that hard to confirm.

That said, this story was ok, despite the glaring error and numerous typos. At least this story was a little d is different than the others.
On that note-- Nick runs a horrible protection agency. Like no one is actually safe-- how does he have any clients?

I absolutely loved this book! The only thing not to love about this book is that there was not more! I absolutely fell in love with Shaw and my heart went out to him! Poppy is just as loveable and there were many times I just wanted to reach out and hug both of them! I am so happy that they both received their Happily Ever After! And what is there not to love about Nick! He is such a teddy bear deep down! Probably my favorite of the series!

Chalk up another awesome one for Milly Taidens Shifter Geek series. I absolutely love this series of Geek scientists. In this book the geek is a tech hacker/robinhood thief and as before, with the other geeks his gets tangles in a bad situation and forced to use the shifter magic. Although Shaw didn't have to be forced much. As always a hot shifter female named Poppy enters in his scene and throughout many exciting adventures, lives happily ever after with her geek.

The newest entry in the Alpha Geek series, Shaw, is another winner from Milly Taiden.

Panther-shifter Poppy runs from an arranged marriage. Coder Shaw is trying to find the shifter serum so he can become one to protect his Granny, becoming a thief to protect his family. The two things they have in common - they're each other's mate, and the same enemy, of course.

Another great story that you won't want to put down!

This was one of the better stories out of the series. I really liked Shaw, even though he had a lot of missteps along the way his heart was in the right place. Poppy was sweet, despite her particularly nasty family. I wish there had been a bit more about her background in the story but that is just a me thing. There were certainly some rocky points to their romance, but I thought the issues were worked out well and the flow of the story was good.

Fun and Exciting

What can I say, you gotta love these geeky guys turned shifters. Although just being geeky seems fine to me. They always seem to be the sweetest guys, even though no one wants to give them a chance.

This is a perfect story where a good guy just wants to make the bad guys pay, even if they go about it in the wrong fashion.

This story brings us action and love and it's an excellent story and you will enjoy it and not want to put it down until you are finished.

Until Next Time... Tabi
